Not a bad choice for a first car. I wanted one of these when I was a senior in highschool when they were new... It only took me 28 years but now I have one! The white one in this video is mine.
I got one 4 months ago, get pre purchase inspection😂 but I’m in love with it. The way it ride is so smooth and unique, and the seat movement makes driving either fun or relaxing your choice. You can drive like a grandma and feel like a gangsta, or give it some gas and make your friends heads hit the seat.
The first gen Celsior wing mirrors were all electric... they folded in, adjusted electrically, they had a "shimmer" button which would vibrate the mirrors to shake off water from rain or dew and they also auto tinted when high beams were sensed from behind, which worked in conjunction with the interior rear view mirror which had the light sensor in it. The CF package also had heated rear seats with back massagers and the rear had it's own separate air con/climate control. It also had an "office setting" where the front passenger seat would fold into the dashboard at the push of a buttom (1 button in the rear arm rest and 1 on the front dashboard) to make room in the rear seat to stretch your legs with a laptop. They also had "speed sensing steering"... the faster you drove, the stiffer the steering got to eliminate bump steer. They also had "ride sensing suspension"...the suspension would constantly change according to the road surface and the faster you drove, the lower the suspension would go (automatically) and would also stiffen up for better handling. Also, when you stopped at a red light, the engine would shut down 4 cylinders, one at a time, to save fuel. Oh, and they were SPEED LIMITED to 250km/h from factory! I had my limiter disabled and pulled 352km/h out of it (219mph)!
@JapaneseMinitruck A truly amazing car mate! They sold for 220K in Australia. By far THE BEST car I've ever owned. If you can find a (rare) UZ CF, grab it, it was THE flagship of all the models and is still the best model they ever built. That's the C spec, F package, which came with the adjustable air bag suspension (could adjust 17 height settings). Mine also had black windows and 18ct gold plated badges from factory!
I have a 97 Celsior, one of the best cars I've ever owned. I would love the wheels on that white LS, they remind me of the old Benz wheels. I looked them up and they are super expensive! Do you know any other wheels with a similar look that aren't $600 a piece?
I am not too sure, unfortunately, but you may be able to find some on marketplace for a good deal, you never want to cheap out on good wheels, though, unfortunately you definitely get what you pay for and you don't want to hit a pothole and have a wheel on you or something crazy!
i'm not toooo sure, he had a friend custom put it together if i can recall, i'll try too ask him soon! if you don't hear back from me comment here again so i see it!
Nice video. I have a 2000 LS400 with 276k still mint. I bought it at 136k and I do all my own work on it. I'm hoping we both make it to a half-million miles.
as long as you keep up with maintenance, I don't think you'll have a problem with that! If you hit it, come back and let me know Someday, it would be so sick!!
I know it sucks seeing them go up and value only because one of the best parts about these cars is they're such a gem for how cheap you can come across them. Sometimes, this is the car I could drive contently stock and just enjoy it the way it is!
Thank you really! We just filmed a 2005 Saleen mustang today! it’s a new series I’m working on about focusing about the facts and history behind individual cars!!
I would totally go LS400, the ES might be a little cheaper, but the LS is just so cool especially given the fact that it has the one you see in a couple cool luxury options, the ES all wheel drive, though I guess would be cool, especially if you live in the state that has snow, I didn't realize they made an all-wheel-drive ES!
Actually one thing I wanna point out is, they didn’t all come with a 4-speed, after 1998 they all came with a 5-Speed. Not a huge deal, but just wanted to point that out🤷♂️😂
So cool saying all those versions of the LS400 I'm actually looking into buying a Lexus LS400 1990 as my first car and modifying it as my dream car I recently been into the LS400 like about a year ago
Awesome to see all three versions of the legendary LS400 lined up together.😍 My Mother has driven a 93 LS for the past six years, and I have had the pleasure of owning a 2000 LS for just over a year now. We cherish these automotive masterpieces and are never parting with them. I must correct you though, the 95-97s only had 260 hp with a 4 speed. Only the 98-00 had 290 hp with a 5 speed. The difference is noticeable when you drive the two and compare. Anyway, I appreciate the vid.👍 Peace to all the Lexus lovers worldwide.🌎 1UZ for life Y’all.🔥☝️🔥
That is super cool to hear!! I’ve been in love with these cars for a while! I think they’re just a little slept on by the car community, majority know what it is, but there’s still a lot of people out there that I’m sure don’t know what makes these cars so great! But thanks for sharing your story man and I appreciate the feedback!
First generation is heavier metals used in their rods and pistons. Also first generation is “non interference”. So if a timing belt snaps no big deal. The biggest Con of owning these cars is pray the Starter doesn’t die on you…a plus is the fuel pump is located behind the rear seat. ✌🏽
@@viczvapo yes the 95 to 97 came with a wider wheel base and a better air flow meter (hot wire) the 89-94uses a optical Air flow meter which is problematic I’m always trying to grab a couple for spares. To me these were designed to look like a Benz but the OG first model is a Japanese Design. 98-2001 was then they added the VVTI which increased horsepower from 260 up to 300 HP. These cars are built to cruise on the highway. And they are solid at high speeds. The first generation is the lightest chassis. All models have the 1UZ but if you get 95 and up be sure to check the timing belt. Those are all interference motors. Only 1UZ from 89-94 were none interference. 95-97 they changed the head and the clearance was reduced so it became interference. Also they used lighter rods and pistons…Only the OG is over built sporting forged internals which the bottom end can take up to 800 hps. Also has a 6 bolt main. Phenomenal piece of machinery on my opinion.
@@BasketballAve thanks a lot for your response. I want to do some additional research, thanks for the inspiration on this knowledge, didn’t know it was that extensive differences. I’m most curious about the “over built” piece as I’m making a purchase on a ls400 from 2000. Hoping with all the maintenance that it can also uphold the first generations. Planning on keeping it long term, minor regular maintenance, that it’s not an expensive car to have. Thanks a lot for your response.
@@viczvapo for sure the 2000 model is more horsepower but you do have to maintain that timing belt. But definitely a great ride that’s my other favorite model other my first gen. I was torn between the 2 what made me get this one was the non interference and over built bottom end. For sure a great ride.
First gen Headlamps😌❤️ Body look
my favorite generation for sure!
Great video, thanks 🙏
thanks for checking it out!!
Thinking of getting this as a first car

I put those on several of my cars in Forza Horizon.😆

One of my favorite cars to travel on because in that!
The first gen was a quad cam, alloy block.
very cool!
A few small details in their specs were incorrect, but otherwise a very entertaining video man 🙏🏿
thanks man!! it's an older production for sure! i've learned alot since this vid!
Dude looks like Ronnie from JS
idk who that is 😅😂😂
lol google Ron from Jersey Shore

@@JapaneseMinitruck what’s your thoughts on doing a video on the first and second variants of the LS430?
I totally would! Unfortunately, I just don't know anybody with one currently
The celsior also comes with reclining rear seats heated also

The Mk1 was UCF10, facelift Mk2 was UCF11
Then the Mk3 (new body) was UCF20, Mk4 UCF 21
LS430 was UCF30, and so on.
