Ryosuke goes to a Japanese Kindergarten in Japan. All the kids were excited to have him in the class.

All my Respect to them - I heard of Japanese going to the USA and needed to get rid off the japanese education of their kids so they can make it in the US-Society this is heartbreaking.
When I was a kid live in the USA i wish they teach us with that wooden sword

that one kid in kendo training was having none of it hes like"i'm to swag for this i don't need to do anything not even bowing"that reminds me of a kid i know in my class
the best part is...Japan did not want to fall behind the West..they send their best to Europe and to America to study...all of them returning to Japan..a wonderful mix of a highly responsible with highest order of work ethics mixed with advanced science...This is what made possible for the Japan of Today...

XD he does not know what he needs to do. Can he even understand japanese ?
He understands some but he is not fluent. We've lived in America, China, and Japan so he heard many different languages growing up. He was very nervous for Kendo. He held tight to the principal's hand this day as it was his very first in the school. His Japanese will become fluent soon enough with him starting 1st Grade in a local Japanese Elementary School this April.

well it looks nice but I dont like the idea of doing kendo movements which simulates a sword handling...meaning fighting...so what would the goal of teaching that to kids...

I guess you misunderstood my statement..Japan and US are completely different countries which you can not compare. In Japan there is not access to Guns so that is actually good in my view. No need for firearms in the civil society. And the lack of Gun control in the US has been a very critical issue here. Now I do understand that kendo practice can give structure and discipline to children but the overall historical aspects of the art of kendo is actually fighting...so that is the factor that I don't understand too much in teaching children ...I am not against the practice..hope I did not offend you with my opinion..
Kendo is known for strict manners and mental training. You will understand If you actually learn about Kendo, but they HAVE TO respect each other and control their emotions which won’t make them “Fighting”. I totally understand your thoughts though.
Watch at them - they all have a stick and NOT fighting - you ever saw that on children ?
They learn respect, humility and responsibility to Life and each others in the most difficult situations - you saw them cleaning the floor ?
When they leave kindergarden you can give them your wallet and it will be much more save then got that in your own poket - without any doubts.
When you leave them on their own - they will be doing great.

Martial Arts in Japan are totally different - they are today Sports for Fun and Education in Manner, Respect and Mental Healthy Peace !!!
This is mostly not War-Art anymore and totally not like in Europe or USA .... meant to be for crazy, uneducated, aggressive broken people can not even handle themselfs.

Because, if you have, you would see the discipline taught in their educational system, including the martial arts, displayed in the most evolved society on this planet daily. In Japan, you don't find the ignorance nor violent-confrontational behavior you find in most other societies. Of all the major cities in the world, Japan has the lowest crime rate and has maintained almost a 100% literacy rate for the past 50 years. Can your country or culture come even close to those stats? I think not! Japan's government and it's educational system stresses passivity and dialog rather then confrontation. There is only a volunteer defense force that guards only their territory borders. Japan is making soldiers! Igonorant, stupid, moronic, imbelcilic, and just plain DUMB!!! Here's an example of how martial arts and it's code of conduct is seen in Japan's society, as of two years ago, nearly $100,000,000 has been turned into authorities. This cash and valuables were from the 2011 Great Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Where on earth does this noble and honorable character exist? NOWHERE!!! Not your country or your culture has the integrity and honesty seen daily in Japanese society and if you dare to say, it exist in your country, then I say to you sir, you're a frikin liar!

Japanese schools teach children to become kind, considerate, law-abiding citizens. Try comparing Japanese society with your shit country and culture! Japan society is recognized by people who are well traveled as the most clean, most respectful, most kind, most honest, and most literate country on this planet. Instead of spending all your time down in your dark and lonely basement room, go to the library once in a while or even better yet, travel further then that pathetic square block that you consider the world!
