- Here we have a most unusual truck - a Freightliner M2 with a KANN Mfg. Curb Master SLEA full-eject automated side load body! Very few of these KANN side loaders are known to exist, making this catch a very rare treat! This one is seen here collecting garbage in Bakersfield, CA! Enjoy the footage!

nice work. I seem to remember him revving the first time we saw this truck. was this just filmed on a different date or did he randomly revert to idling the arm and you had enough footage to make a second upload just of that? only curious. much enjoy how perfectly those grippers work with the EVR I and rehrig carts. and even that strange, narrow hopper tickles my fancy, love the boxy portion at the front and the slanted lip leading into the hopper
I believe you're thinking of Mike's video which was actually a different truck and driver, and unfortunately this truck was all just straight idle. But it was still cool to finally see a KANN ASL in person, so my feelings weren't hurt too bad ;)
100% agree on the grippers, it's nice to see that someone finally nailed down a *simple* gripper design that seems to handle most common carts with relatively little issue. These KANN's definitely do have a fair few rather unconventional aesthetic elements, yet they all work together somehow to make for a really good looking body in my opinion. It even looks pretty decent paired up with the Freightliner, though I'd much prefer to see it on an ACX or a 320 ;)
that would be it. -sigh- I'm losing it. do you know how many KANNs Price has then? or see any other trucks they're running these days on resi routes?
I think we determined that they have at least three KANN's now. Shortly after filming this, we also bumped into an ex-ESD Octo ASL from them as well. This and the Octo were the only two Price trucks we saw before we skipped on out to Visalia, so I'm not real sure what else they've got these days, but I would imagine they still have a good handful of Bridgeports.
