The peanut he showed that has 4 peanuts inside the shell are Valencia peanuts, and they make the best tasting boiled peanut. I live in SC, and those are the ones you want to seek out. They're very sweet and delicious, and very addictive!

@@espartaco2028Valencia and Spanish are not the same peanut. Spanish are normally what you see served as cocktail peanuts. Valencia are better for boiling.

    J. T.’s “bawled” peanuts: If dried, simmer overnight to rehydrate. Drain. Put in pot with 50/50 beer & water (or 100% beer if you choose) to cover, 15 + cloves minced garlic, plenty of Old Bay seasoning, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a rolling boil & reduce to simmer. Add more beer as needed and stir and test occasionally for doneness. Y’all’s everlasting gratitude is much ‘preciated, y’hear?

The terminology is wrong in this video:
-he referred to dry raw peanuts as green peanuts. “Green” means they are fresh and not dry.
-What he’s calling Virginia peanuts are actually Valencia peanuts
-what he’s calling jumbo peanuts are Virginia peanuts
-“Virginia” is a variety, not necessarily where they are grown

#2 those "3 peanuts" are 180% not Virginia peanuts that you said they were.... the ones on the right are nicknamed "purple" peanuts, but they are "portella Valencia peanuts, primarily grown in New Mexico and Arizonia... the other peanuts are Virginia Jumbos, very difficult to cook, no color, hard to shell without breaking peanut....
But, Portella Valencia peanut, the purple peanut is prob the most common for roadside stands

Not good. Green peanuts only takes 45 min to an hour to cook. And only add maybe two tablespoon of salt.. not a whole cup... ackkkk
