Honestly I'm half here for the recipes and half here because I miss Goa. The first 1 minute (picking mangoes, the bright blue and white walls, and the container with the mangoes in it when it cuts to the kitchen) is such a blast of nostalgia and memories. Love it.
The way he explained the way of cooking in the kitchen reminds me when I was a kid. The kitchen was also small and dark. Food was sooo delicious. I miss it so much.
How I love to hear your stories of the Goa of old, where I would spend my vacations. You bring back to memory all the flavors of foods that my grand parents fed us with. Thank you Chef Rego and may God bless you abundantly.
Chef Rego has been an inspiration to every young and old in the culinary fraternity. A living legend and a gem of a person ...!!! Thank you chef for sharing your recipes.
Amazing, youngsters should learn from chef Rego and continue our goan cusine. Obrigado Senhor Rego. Keep going. Headmaster St. Andrew's Institute Vasco.
i know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know a tool to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
It is a treat to listen to you while you are talking about this receipe, miss my dad n see my dad you. God bless you n keep you always healthy n we learn alot of receipes from you our traditional one.
Your recipes are always easy and healthy. The way you record and present everything makes it more appealing. Thank you so very much for taking time to share your recipes.
Thank you Chef for this wonderful recipe. I am reminded of my husband's aunt, who used to prepare this in a mud pot. Yes, the next day the curry would be dried and we would have with rice kanji. God bless you Chef.
Thank u so much Chef Rego. Your food is amazingly delicious. I feel like giving u a massive hug. U bring back memories of my grandpa. And u are sharing such invaluable tasty goan food that is part of our childhood and tradition. I dont know how to cook such dishes but thanks to u now i can attempt. God bless u. Please keep sharing your wonderful recipes. Of all indian food my favourite food is goan dishes. My mom is no longer on this earth and i didnt learn from her so i miss this food. Now thanks to you i can learn it myself. This food is magic. Food not just for the body but to satisfy the soul
so much kindness in your voice. Thank you for sharing with us this age old traditional receipe. you reminded of my dad when you mentioned about the tasty kalchi Kodi. God bless you Sir.
I really love indian food the traditional and ancient food taste, its been 4 years enjoying curryfood lot of masala and luv the extra spicy chicken curry..
I was baffled when I had to hunt for a place in Goa that served my favourite dish - prawn curry rice - the kind prepared in the Catholic Goan style. It being Goa I was expecting to find many such places strewn all over Goa but to my surprise there were none. I finally got lucky when I bumped into my relatives whom I hadn't seen for ages and who I was supposed to visit anyway. As it came to be they too happened to be shopping like me at the Mapusa Friday market. The usual pleasantries were exchanged and I was promptly invited to stay over at their place for a few days as it happened to be celebration time in honour of the village patron saint. What could be better than Feast Time in Goa. It was total bliss I tell you. A nostalgic trip down memory lane of the first order. Happy feelings flooded my mind. Very little had changed for me here. This was the very place I spent my holidays every summer celebrating this very same feast for 30/40 odd years. As was expected a plethora of our Goan dishes were served every morning noon and night. Mind blowing pork roast, perfect beef roast, finger licking good sorpotel, pork vindaloo, aromatic chicken and beef Xacuti, potato chops, etc. With the exception of roast suckling pig we had it all. Now someone pray tell me where in Goa can I take my Goan friends for an exclusive genuine Goan culinary experience. I have been recounting my experiences to them so many times that I am beginning to feel sorry to just see their eyes popping with anticipation. I would definitely not want to take advantage of my old uncle's generosity and have six of my friends imposing themselves at his age. So the question now remains. Where do a nostalgia-driven, old returning Goans find a place where they can find home cooked Catholic oriented cuisine in Goa? ⛱️🚣🌈
Wonderful video. I remember my aunt used to dry the leftover and we used to eat with pav in the clay pot itself. Thank you for the recipe. God bless you.
This is your one of the signature dish in the Beach house of THV. GOA. 👍 thank ypu very much sharing with us superb cooking tips as using coconut water while grinding masala and adding salt to onion before adding in curry. Once again thanks. Looking forward for more cooking tips.

I don't know whether I like the curry more or the chef! ❤ Thank you for taking me back to Goa! Lots of love
Nicely presented. Only thing we do marinate prawns with onions for atleast 10 mins. And we still use earthen pot " matyeche kuyne ".
Uncle you're great love you 👍 And most of all I love goans and our old culture 🙏
