@@OMGItzSlickerz He never used to be anti-gear. He used to make steroid tier lists telling people what they should use for bulking and cutting. He used to show videos how to reconstitute GH, how to inject, intramuscular for gear and subq for peptides like GH.
@@JT-yx7vf yes I know I was around at the time he was still making those videos, that was the reason I started watching him. The issue with that sort of content TH-cam doesn’t really allow it on the platform and he’s unable to monetise those videos. Even if he were able to monetise them, they just weren’t getting the views so he had to move away from that sort of content.
He’s not anti gear now either, he’s simply not promoting it the way he would before. Times change, his content is still great

I did bodybuilding for over 10 years and what Greg is saying is 100% correct. I was doing 2-3 hours of cardio leading up to a show. I didn’t want to abuse fat burners(clen, t3) or abuse diuretics.

Never underestimate just walking. I recently spent 5 weeks in China, was walking 7-12km a day, by the end I was the lightest I've been in the last decade. Funny how Greg says 3 hours and they automatically translate that into 'always' and biking backwards uphill wearing a 50 pound backpack and ankle weights for 3 hours a day.
Bro I lost nearly 22 pounds in just over a month doing cardio. I try to get between 10-13,000 steps daily & Continued to weight train 3-4 times per week. I dropped from 107kg to 96.8
i envy you two a bit, i was 129 kilo in March and am 111 right now, never changed my diet (no increase or decrease i mean) and it took intense effort of running and jogging (though i partly blame the Indian city climate and my giant fooolish height)

Same. Did a semester abroad in France in college. At home, I was usually 190-200lbs, I came back from France a lean 170. So lean that people were asking me if I didn't like the food and chose not to eat. By the end of a trip, I was eating a surplus and couldn't keep the weight on.
Yep. I was 168 lbs 7 weeks ago, and was coming off of a bulk. Was about 16% BF as well. So, i started walking 13-15k steps, 6 days/week. This was alongside 5-6 days of intense bodybuilding training. Im now 150lbs and very lean. Some muscle lost, but not too much. Best i have ever looked, and interestingly enough, im STRONGER than i was at almost 170lbs. Zero PEDs used. Just upped my protein, ate less carbs (hardly ever ate out. Pretty much exclusively just cooked at home), and walked a metric f*ck tonne. Ppl underestimate the power of a simple walk.

I gotta give it to Greg on this one. His argument is right on point. If your goal is winning a show , then you would do anything to win , if that means all that cardio , so be it. Also not pushing diuretics on your client is admirable. It means Greg is looking out for his clients health. You won’t get any income if your clients you coach get really sick or die from drugs.

I like Larry but the video was obviously off, the 3 hours of cardio was a emergency solution because he was behind in prep, but they made it seem it was general advice in order to push the app.
3 hours of low intensity cardio is standard for endurance athletes. They call it "base training" and they are supposed to do it for 3 months out of the year ... usually in the winter. A combination of keto, intermittent fasting, and fasted cardio (at a higher intensity) and up to 3 hours a day of low intensity cardio would be the fastest way to get lean. The more muscle mass a person has, the faster it's going to work. The problem with this is that most people are not "fat adapted" and can't handle hypoglycemia.

It is not something insane to do 23-even 30 some Kay steps for anyone remotely healthy.* edit: Maybe I went "too insane", but for someone healthy, but not exceptional in the theoretical sense, such distance and timeframes are very alright.

Do you really think that? I used to enjoy Dr. Greg back in the day but I can't do it anymore. This should have been a 5 min video. At 14 min in, not even half way and I have to throw in the towel. He just repeats himself in an increasingly annoying fashion for far too long in every video. This is the first one I've checked in to watch in over a year and I'm not coming back. Dude knows what he's talking about but his approach to presentation is really obnoxious to try to listen to. I wish he'd do 5 min videos because I would like to hear what he has to say but no one has time for this, it's absurd. And I actually agree with him here. The only diet that has ever worked for me is coach gregs, this guy knows something. Even though I don't follow his exact cook book diet I did tweak some things (asian taste buds) but his diet and training philosophy is unmatched.

Yo Greg said "18k steps" and "mailman" and that was scary accurate, I did exactly that much everyday (3-4 hours of actual delivery) when I worked as a mailman. Mostly steps up and down apartment buildings though.
I used to do that on a six hour shift at a builders merchant. Just constant walking interspersed with lugging bags of sand and timber around. I actually really miss that shitty job just because it kept me decently fit. "Excercise" is great but just daily physical movement is the key to a long, healthy life I think.

I used to do furniture removals, some days were 16 to 20. Longest day was 20.5 hours. Did 85k steps that day. Was horrible. Lost 35lbs in the 1st 3 months of the job and got weaker. So bad for recovery
Used to get 27k on a shift working transport in a big ass hospital, lots of pivoting, pushing, pulling hospital beds, helping people who had had surgergies get in cars, bed transfers, catching falling patient's etc, pushing fat ass people around in beds and wheelchairs. I would do do elliptical on random days and lift 4-6 times a week. Stalled out MASSIVELY on gains for that 1.5 years. My BP and blood work were generally better though

I have to admit that Greg is right.
When I saw Larry's video I stopped in order to read the message and I already thought it was a dumb beef.
He did not say that everyone needs 3h of cardio, but if you're behind perhaps nearly 40lbs away from weight in at 6 weeks out it's nearly impossibile even for enhanced athletes, especially when you have a shit ton of muscles like Larry.
Also let's not forget that people get their spine stretched to get measured an inch taller than they are and make it in the other division for more weight limit, Larry is around 6'0.25 or 184cm, if he was measured without stretching he would have never done the show because 224lbs is impossible unless he cuts his foot.
it's sad Larry is such a real and cool guy, hes just surrounded by the wrong type of people that use him for their interests and are not in the best interest of larry

Even I who is a natty understood from the gate that when you said 3 hours of cardio you were more than likely talking about walking. I'm 208 6'2" and have been getting ready for an event called DragonCon to look my best physically and this video is so greatly timed because I had been walking 3 hours a day for the past week and a half, no carbs, just to make the look that I want. Walking is probably the best way to burn off fat while preserving muscle! I do other things like jumprope and punch the bag but I prioritize walking for my fat burning needs. Coach Greg is that GOAT that the industry underestimates so much. Thanks for keeping things real and in perspective, coach!

I can actually attest to this. I know a guy at my gym who recently got his ibbf pro card and this guy did A LOT of cardio on the treadmill. Run, walk, speed walk, you name it whilst wearing a weighted vest. Coach Greg is 100% correct on this.
I've seen a guy who was downsizing from open to classic doing inclined treadmill with a band attached to his ankles to add resistance. This works. And this guy knows his sh*t. He was the biggest pro maker and most sought out coach in Brazil for a long time. Larry's coach is a douch.
