I am absolutely in love with the rap personality Seonghwa has so steadily built for himself. Warning, Seonghwa ult here, so here's a rant about how much I love him: A lot of people still don't know that but when Seonghwa auditioned for KQ, he auditioned as a rapper. He became a vocalist in the end but he has seemingly jumped on every opportunity to rap he got. Starting with "The Leaders" and followed by "Dreamers" in 2021. Back then it was already visible that he went for a very dirty, grindy, deep-toned attitude with his rapping which was such an amazing contrast to his beautiful vocals. And when the Outlaw album hit I was blown away because I legit feared we'd never see rapper Seonghwa again. But he was just getting started. And the style of rapping he chose is just so unique for the scene. He had limited amounts of time and chose to do the most badass and unique way to deliver his bars possible. And he kept rapping on the album. He didn't only have his insane part in "Bouncy" but also in "Dune" and "Django". And then we got this comeback with an entire subunit song of him rapping 😭 And with "Matz" the core of what he wants his rap personality to be just truly crystalizes and it's beautiful because it's the exact opposite of what he know his vocal personality to be. He was always praised for his duality on stage (he's not part of the founders of the demon line for nothing after all) and we knew from the beginning that Seonghwa's voice is insanely flexible and can go into so many different directions but now we finally see a great extent of what his voice can do in the rap department as well. Park Seonghwa has snuck up on us as an all-rounder all this time and now he can finally be called one. He is an incredible singer, a fantastic dancer, a phenomenal performer, a badass rapper and as the cherry on top he's absolutely gorgeous. Congrats Seonghwa, you've absolutely killed it with this comeback and I am so, so, so incredible happy for him. His hard work paid off. I truly hope he will be able to further explore his rapping as a change to slaying as a vocalist and dancer.
I love this so much and I appreciate you sharing that with me because I wasn't aware of it all. I'll never forget seeing him basically found the demon line in some of their earliest performances. Like I was still learning the members, but he stuck out as a performer. Honestly, I'm just so happy they had the ability to showcase how diverse they are in this album. It's so freaking cool and adds so much more to them all as performers, which they're all already INSANE at. 🤯🤘🏻

The song, the lyric, the sound keep on playing in my head and without realising it I always sings and mumbles to that song 😭 that song matches my vibe the most. 🥲 i cant believe mingi was keeping that song for a while since he wrote it predebut or during debut moments. Arriba was such a trip for me as an argentinian (both musically and lyrically) because I just don't understand how a bunch of korean people got me to feel like I was at a neighbor's summer-end of the year party that ends up with everyone drinking in the street. It just felt RATCHET but in the best way possible. We have completely different cultures but somehow they made me relate so much? And when they just SKRRT SKRRTed their way through the chorus I lost it, it's so silly but it fits the lyrics and the vibe of the song. This song holds a special place in my heart now ❤️

@@ThatKpopGuitarist when I heard the preview I wasn't expecting much because I've heard other artists try the hispanic vibe before and it just feels a bit forced sometimes, which is completely understandable, it's not their culture and I appreciate the effort anyways. HOWEVER this just blew my mind. The bits of spanish here and there were just a bonus personally, the vibe is truly what's outstanding. They don't get to experience hot, sweaty, messy, drunk, loud Christmas Eve where suddenly your neighbors are calling you out from the street to say hi because it's about to be 12 am and the music's so loud you can barely hear them BUT somehow they managed to pull that off with the way they interpreted the lyrics. Even if they didn't write or produce it, they totally embodied it and you can feel that they had FUN, and that's so refreshing and so Ateez, tbh. They're always unapologetically themselves and that's what made me a fan.

What a good reaction, to be honest, I had listened to the full album as soon as it was released, I listened to it twice and still didn't get the feeling of their songs, maybe because it was raining heavily where I was. But apart from that, after watching your reaction to the entire album, I really had an extraordinary experience, I got so many interesting song details that made me get the feel for the songs and think this is a really good album, thank you for making this full album reaction video, Really ❤.

Mingi wrote Youth when he was on hiatus (so back when he was around 21). He was asked who he wanted to sing it with, and he said only Yunho. You should really read the lyrics, they're just - 😢😢😢. I believe Mingi also produced it and gave precise directions for the MV. Mingi and Yunho have been friends since middle school. They said that they've never become friends with anyone so quickly. When people's first impression of Mingi is that he's intimidating or even scary (Yeosang lol), Yunho's first impression of him was that he's cute and adorable. To this day he says that Mingi's main characteristics are his cuteness and how he "radiates adorableness". iirc Yunho called Mingi every single day for 8 months when Mingi was on hiatus. When Mingi was asked if he was surprised when he got to debut with his best friend, he said no, because he never considered the alternative even possible. They were always meant to be together. The song was not tailored to them. It IS them 🥲

Oh, me too! When I first heard the 'skrr skrr skrr' and it kept coming back, I thought, "Oh, what a shame" because I was sure I would find them annoying, but I'm really surprised! They're just right on that edge - like, I could find them annoying, but because they somehow go so well with the rest of the song, it just works! I've rarely been so happy to be proven wrong 😆

ok firstly, Cheeto is SO CUTE!!! secondly, i missed the live cuz i’m in spain (originally from the philippines heyy 👋) but i’m here now! >:) thirdly, i’m gonna leave a warning that my comment/thread might be a huge info dump 🙈 but i LOVE the album. i love MATZ too, it is literally everything to me because i’m a huge hongjoong fan (he + yunho, san, wooyoung are my ults. a lot, i know, but that’s what you get with ateez lmfao) - and obviously i always get so hype when that man gets to shine as both rapper and producer BUT as an atiny since say my name, i’ve also been waiting for rapper seonghwa!! i’m part of the percentage of atiny who knew he auditioned as a rapper and besides the previous songs he rapped in, he also rapped a couple of times in some variety shows. so they’ve really been building him up to it 🥹 i’m so so SO happy he got this chance!! also i initially thought MATZ was going to be soft context: in korean “hyung” is what a guy calls an older brother / older male friend out of respect. now, “mathyung” refers to the “eldest brother”. so even before this album, hongjoong & seonghwa have nicknamed themselves as “MATZ”, since they are the mathyung of ateez (the Z is from ateez of course - just like how yunho + yeosang + san + mingi + wooyoung are the 99Z [all born in 1999]) and whenever seonghwa talks about hongjoong, it’s always so soft and sweet because they’re really close friends. and seonghwa is so appreciative of hongjoong for shouldering the responsibilities of being ateez’s captain. as the one who’s older by a few months, he looks after hongjoong as well as the other members too likewise, hongjoong is also really thankful for seonghwa. if i remember correctly, hongjoong wrote Thank U with seonghwa in mind so you see, their friendship is so soft and genuine and sweet - i did NOT expect them to do a 180 with this track at all 😂😂 not complaining at all though! personally i think seonghwa really k!lled it this album 😎✨ i’m still about to watch the rest of your album party but i’m just so excited and happy we got these subunits. wooyoung is best friends with yeosang and san so i’m glad those three with a song together too; and like wooyoung and yeosang, yunho and mingi have been friends for like 8 years now i think? and yunho & mingi also did a 180 for me this album. i thought THEY were gonna go hard but they have this beautiful, beaaautiful song together. and of COURSE jongho. heaven. that’s it. that man’s voice will welcome me to heaven when i go fr. no other words need to be said 😆😆

I missed most of this stream, so I had go back and rewatch from the beginning XD my thoughts on this album…tbh it was no outlaw or even movement. but those first two world albums are literally untouchable, so I can’t blame them. this album is really good in its own sense. individually I loved all the songs. I was really enjoying the album structure they had going where they completely dedicate themselves to the theme, but I realize that the members weren’t really getting a chance to do their own songs. so I can respect this compromise. we know and emergency are your classic ateez theme songs, and I love them. I think at first they seem a bit similar to many other ateez songs, but as you listen to them more, their uniqueness starts to shine I agree, crazy form is not my favorite title track. however, I also agree that it’s growing on me with every listen. and it is still really good! arriba is definitely my number one right now. that’s probably my latina bias coming in, but hey. I also had the same thoughts on the ‘skrt skrt’ being annoying, but honestly wooyoung sounds too sexy singing them I can’t even be mad silver light is pretty people music. went straight to my dark retro playlist with songs like key’s ‘the killer’, txt’s ‘chasing that feeling’, stayc’s ‘so bad’, jimin’s ‘like crazy’, and take me home ofc crescent pt 2 is a beautiful interlude dreamy day is probably my least favorite, just because it’s also not really my go to sound. I still really like it tho. to me it’s giving seventeen bside, like ‘to you’ or ‘april showers’. it also reminds me of ‘if without you’ from treasure ep: fin. I loved hearing rapper seonghwa in matz. his rapping voice is so attractive fr. also, this song reminds me of bring it by hoshi and woozi. not so much sound wise as the concept it’s you…this is tied for second place on this album honestly. it’s so perfect. I love how with all the unit songs it allows the members to fill in and try out vocal roles that they usually wouldn’t. for example, I loved yeosang singing the final chorus and wooyoung killing the adlibs. and san ofc 😍 gonna pretend I don’t know the lyrics tho 💀 youth is a driving song for me all the way. all I can picture is yungi driving in a convertible with the top down with a huge orange sunset in front of them. the lyrics kind of hurt tho 😢 everything, my love…this is the other song tied for second place rn. honestly, it’s exactly what you would expect from a jongho solo. and yet I was still blown away. I’m obsessed. I probably won't be able to hit all the points you made, but I love reading it. 😁 I re-listened to this album, well as much as I could, on the way to and from picking up lunch today. No joke, I love Arriba and Crazy Form even more than I did yesterday and I honestly wasn't expecting it. It seems like the songs are all steady growing on me minute by minute and I have had a ton of time to really listen. 😂 But I agree, I think the compromise of the unit songs was a huge treat. Of course, it kind of takes away from a more cohesive "vibe", but it really lets the members shine in a unique way. Definitely the most-unique Ateez release we've had in recent history. 👀
A producer reactor said that Ateez music is a "music for the musician". They're so intricate & full of underlying producing masterpieces that not many normal people could pick up & enjoy. So I'm not sorry at all when I don't appreciate their music as much as after I heard reaction from musician like you, Andrew. 😀 I only knew that I ADORE Ateez music but I can't appreciate it enough. Arriba was such a trip for me as an argentinian (both musically and lyrically) because I just don't understand how a bunch of korean people got me to feel like I was at a neighbor's summer-end of the year party that ends up with everyone drinking in the street. It just felt RATCHET but in the best way possible. We have completely different cultures but somehow they made me relate so much? And when they just SKRRT SKRRTed their way through the chorus I lost it, it's so silly but it fits the lyrics and the vibe of the song. This song holds a special place in my heart now ❤️

@@ThatKpopGuitarist when I heard the preview I wasn't expecting much because I've heard other artists try the hispanic vibe before and it just feels a bit forced sometimes, which is completely understandable, it's not their culture and I appreciate the effort anyways. HOWEVER this just blew my mind. The bits of spanish here and there were just a bonus personally, the vibe is truly what's outstanding. They don't get to experience hot, sweaty, messy, drunk, loud Christmas Eve where suddenly your neighbors are calling you out from the street to say hi because it's about to be 12 am and the music's so loud you can barely hear them BUT somehow they managed to pull that off with the way they interpreted the lyrics. Even if they didn't write or produce it, they totally embodied it and you can feel that they had FUN, and that's so refreshing and so Ateez, tbh. They're always unapologetically themselves and that's what made me a fan.

What a good reaction, to be honest, I had listened to the full album as soon as it was released, I listened to it twice and still didn't get the feeling of their songs, maybe because it was raining heavily where I was.
But apart from that, after watching your reaction to the entire album, I really had an extraordinary experience, I got so many interesting song details that made me get the feel for the songs and think this is a really good album, thank you for making this full album reaction video, Really ❤.

i really appreciate that you do these livestreams & put them up for us to watch later because i've listened to the full album multiple times through, but i never sat down and paid this much attention to all the musical details until i watched your livestream :) this album is craaazy it's going to be mindblowing live for sure!
Mingi wrote Youth when he was on hiatus (so back when he was around 21). He was asked who he wanted to sing it with, and he said only Yunho. You should really read the lyrics, they're just - 😢😢😢. I believe Mingi also produced it and gave precise directions for the MV.
Mingi and Yunho have been friends since middle school. They said that they've never become friends with anyone so quickly. When people's first impression of Mingi is that he's intimidating or even scary (Yeosang lol), Yunho's first impression of him was that he's cute and adorable. To this day he says that Mingi's main characteristics are his cuteness and how he "radiates adorableness". iirc Yunho called Mingi every single day for 8 months when Mingi was on hiatus. When Mingi was asked if he was surprised when he got to debut with his best friend, he said no, because he never considered the alternative even possible. They were always meant to be together.

Lol, the 'skrr' part i thought also that was unnecessary and would annoy me because it felt like...but it actually blend well with the song like it's not annoying though surprising and kin of curious why they add that.
Oh, me too! When I first heard the 'skrr skrr skrr' and it kept coming back, I thought, "Oh, what a shame" because I was sure I would find them annoying, but I'm really surprised! They're just right on that edge - like, I could find them annoying, but because they somehow go so well with the rest of the song, it just works!

but i LOVE the album. i love MATZ too, it is literally everything to me because i’m a huge hongjoong fan (he + yunho, san, wooyoung are my ults. a lot, i know, but that’s what you get with ateez lmfao) - and obviously i always get so hype when that man gets to shine as both rapper and producer
BUT as an atiny since say my name, i’ve also been waiting for rapper seonghwa!! i’m part of the percentage of atiny who knew he auditioned as a rapper and besides the previous songs he rapped in, he also rapped a couple of times in some variety shows. so they’ve really been building him up to it 🥹
i’m so so SO happy he got this chance!! also i initially thought MATZ was going to be soft
context: in korean “hyung” is what a guy calls an older brother / older male friend out of respect. now, “mathyung” refers to the “eldest brother”. so even before this album, hongjoong & seonghwa have nicknamed themselves as “MATZ”, since they are the mathyung of ateez (the Z is from ateez of course - just like how yunho + yeosang + san + mingi + wooyoung are the 99Z [all born in 1999])
and whenever seonghwa talks about hongjoong, it’s always so soft and sweet because they’re really close friends. and seonghwa is so appreciative of hongjoong for shouldering the responsibilities of being ateez’s captain. as the one who’s older by a few months, he looks after hongjoong as well as the other members too
likewise, hongjoong is also really thankful for seonghwa. if i remember correctly, hongjoong wrote Thank U with seonghwa in mind
so you see, their friendship is so soft and genuine and sweet - i did NOT expect them to do a 180 with this track at all 😂😂 not complaining at all though! personally i think seonghwa really k!lled it this album 😎✨
i’m still about to watch the rest of your album party but i’m just so excited and happy we got these subunits. wooyoung is best friends with yeosang and san so i’m glad those three with a song together too; and like wooyoung and yeosang, yunho and mingi have been friends for like 8 years now i think? and yunho & mingi also did a 180 for me this album. i thought THEY were gonna go hard but they have this beautiful, beaaautiful song together. and of COURSE jongho. heaven. that’s it. that man’s voice will welcome me to heaven when i go fr. no other words need to be said 😆😆

I missed most of this stream, so I had go back and rewatch from the beginning XD
my thoughts on this album…tbh it was no outlaw or even movement. but those first two world albums are literally untouchable, so I can’t blame them. this album is really good in its own sense. individually I loved all the songs. I was really enjoying the album structure they had going where they completely dedicate themselves to the theme, but I realize that the members weren’t really getting a chance to do their own songs. so I can respect this compromise.
we know and emergency are your classic ateez theme songs, and I love them. I think at first they seem a bit similar to many other ateez songs, but as you listen to them more, their uniqueness starts to shine

dreamy day is probably my least favorite, just because it’s also not really my go to sound. I still really like it tho. to me it’s giving seventeen bside, like ‘to you’ or ‘april showers’. it also reminds me of ‘if without you’ from treasure ep: fin.
I loved hearing rapper seonghwa in matz. his rapping voice is so attractive fr. also, this song reminds me of bring it by hoshi and woozi. not so much sound wise as the concept
it’s you…this is tied for second place on this album honestly. it’s so perfect. I love how with all the unit songs it allows the members to fill in and try out vocal roles that they usually wouldn’t. for example, I loved yeosang singing the final chorus and wooyoung killing the adlibs. and san ofc 😍 gonna pretend I don’t know the lyrics tho 💀
youth is a driving song for me all the way. all I can picture is yungi driving in a convertible with the top down with a huge orange sunset in front of them. the lyrics kind of hurt tho 😢

I re-listened to this album, well as much as I could, on the way to and from picking up lunch today. No joke, I love Arriba and Crazy Form even more than I did yesterday and I honestly wasn't expecting it. It seems like the songs are all steady growing on me minute by minute and I have had a ton of time to really listen. 😂
But I agree, I think the compromise of the unit songs was a huge treat. Of course, it kind of takes away from a more cohesive "vibe", but it really lets the members shine in a unique way. Definitely the most-unique Ateez release we've had in recent history. 👀
A producer reactor said that Ateez music is a "music for the musician". They're so intricate & full of underlying producing masterpieces that not many normal people could pick up & enjoy. So I'm not sorry at all when I don't appreciate their music as much as after I heard reaction from musician like you, Andrew. 😀 I only knew that I ADORE Ateez music but I can't appreciate it enough. Thank you for analysing this album and making me love Ateez even more.
