I guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost the account password. I would love any tips you can give me!
@Santana Mohammed I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I love this one Lois. Nice combination of colours too -they work perfectly. I must scribble them down so I don't forget, or look out for your list. One question: did you have a mental idea of what your scene should look like apart from being a seascape? The rocks, for example?
Thanks Barbara, I did, I wanted to paint the walk to the beach at Rock in North Cornwall so it was a matter of getting in the sand dunes/rocks first, it then evolved from there. It’s from memory of many happy holidays!
Thank you for this Lois! Does your patreon page lessons include a photo that could be downloaded so that we could see where you got your inspiration and how you simplified/adjusted it before painting and where we are headed at you give the lesson? I've gained some fantastic techniques watching your videos and I love your subjects but I'm lost with trying to paint some of my own. You do sometimes show a picture but not how you interpreted it or have it be downloadable so I can study it and have a roadmap where we are going.
Hi Julie, thanks! The times when I work from a photo for Patreon videos, photos are provided to download and work from. There are also some videos about simplifying from photos and a whole range of beginners tips. But please note, there a lot is imagined or scenes from memory as a way to get the artist to begin to experiment, loosen up and learn to manage the unpredictable nature of watercolour and work with that wonderful aspect instead of trying to force watercolour to do what we want it too, I hope that makes sense!
Jane Jackson thank you! The paper I use for most demos is Saunders Waterford 90lb NOT/cold pressed paper, 15”x11”/38cm x 28cm, but I sometimes use SW hot pressed paper or Millford cold pressed 140lb. I always prefer cotton papers, they are easier to paint on 😊💐
I have watched several of your tutorials in my effort to loosen up my painting and love your work. That said, I am very surprised that your supply list generally lists 90 lb cold or hot press Saunders paper I am surprised you are getting such wonderful results with 90 lb rather than 140 lb, I have not tried the Saunders brand. I am using Arches 140 lb cold press.
I really like this one! Thank you! How much variation is there between brands in color? For example, is raw sienna the same in Daniel Smith, as in Cotman?
I’m not too sure as I’ve only ever used Cotman paints, however, I’ve been told that raw sienna in other brands is browner as opposed to the nice earthy yellow of the Cotman 😊
Lois Davidson Thank you! I’ve wondered, because my mixes haven’t had the nice yellow that you get in the skies and sand. I’m going to try some other colors and see what happens.
I want to meet you and then live with you forever...loved every bit of your video...i can tell u r an amazing n wonderful person..may God bless you..also plzz i ve one question..is there any alternate to ron ranson hake brush cuz it's not available in third world countries...
Love your work and narrative, but you need to fill the screen. I watch this in my phone (mostly) but it doesn't fit. There's huge borders either side of the image.
Love it Lois!! 10 thumbs up!!!
Thanks so much Edo, that means a lot to me 😊💕💕💕

It's v beautiful painting. Do you paint from photo? Can you show also your inspiration for the painting?
Thank you!
Eva magica Fitzelová I often paint from imagination, this was from my imagination!
Beautiful painting. I would be interested to know what weight and make of paper you are using. Thanks.

I recommend any good 140lb cotton, I often use 90lb as I paint a lot and it is cheaper, a bit trickier to keep flat, but usually flattens out when dry

Karen Casebeer try yellow ochre but dilute it a lot as it’s much stronger and more opaque than Cotman raw sienna
Lois Davidson Thanks! 😬
Nice
Nothing has change since W.Turner. the use of any blue and any sienna...
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🎨

Thanks. All my older videos were filmed that way on my old phone so best not to watch if you don’t like that format! 😊💐
