Hi Chris I’ve been watching the cruise ships coming and going from Southampton via marine traffic app, after being forced to return to port owing to the virus situation. I heard you mention the reason that Victoria had to go to sea on short trips in the channel was to transfer water. Could you explain more about this? I notice some of the p & o fleet doing the same. It’s very busy in port at the moment. Many thanks James
Hey James. They have to empty out grey water (treated water that while cleaned can not be discharged in port). So they go out to do this. And take on new fresh sea water for the desalination plant too.
Many thanks Chris, I had a feeling it was something like that.. I can’t believe the amount of fuel they must be burning on these mini outings. I’ve been following Alure of the Seas the past few days since leaving Southampton, she’s been hanging around the South Irish Sea, and off Cornwall, due back at Southampton on the 11th... Long for the day I can get back on Queen Victoria, I Love this Ship! Interesting times! Cheers.
The queen mary 2 has been in torbay and Weymouth last few months as have queen victoria and Queen Elizabeth the 3 Queens have been seen together which is rarely seen It is said the cunard and p&o will in torbay and Weymouth waters till at least August 2021 The ghost ships as there called will be sadly missed when they do go back to work
Yes, I think cruising will survive, but the industry won’t be the same as it was before. I think some older ships may never return to service and could see some lines may close down. It really depends how long the Pandemic lasts for.
Thanks so much for all the support! Hope this update on the Cunard fleet is useful for you.
I once saw Queen Mary 2 in dock when I went to Southampton

The ship I'm surprised was asked to leave Sydney is the Pacific Explorer as that is a P&O Australia Ship. Any idea where that one is going Chris?

Yes indeed!

Booked on QE in Nov for a short cruise in Australian waters
Video 8 music -7. And it is not what music is played rather, do we need music to every bit of information? I´m off.
Aww but if the video was +8 and the music was -7 that still leaves it as +1 so surely worth hanging around? 🤣🚢

Assuredly
@Eva K Please do a vid of your experiences OR ask a friend [Chris] to do one for you?
Queen Victoria is in the Philippines in Manila Bay
That’s Queen Elizabeth 👌
Queen Elizabeth is now in the Port of Manila.
Chris, you need to speak slower and more distinctly. You swallow too many of your words.
