    It’s been said a bad day of fishing is much better than a good day at work. And there’s no better way to test this idea than climbing into your rig and heading for the nearest lake. Revell agrees with this sentiment and celebrates it with the Gone Fishing Set. We’ve combined a vintage Ford Bronco with a classic Ranger 363V Commanche bass boat and a custom two-axle trailer to create the ultimate 1/24-scale fishing experience. The assembled rig is more than 19 inches long.

    Features
    Hood opens to show detailed small-block V-8 engine
    The body’s rear roof section is removable
    All-terrain tires with choice of stock spoked wheels or optional slotted mags
    Optional parts include fender flares, a roll bar with off-road lights, and a roof rack with skis
    All-new decal sheet includes factory-stock Accent Tape Stripe and custom graphics
    Detailed hull and interior with control console and dual windscreens
    150-horsepower 2-stroke outboard engine with three-bladed prop
    Detail pieces include trolling motor and two depth sounders
    Dual-axle trailer includes front-mounted storage box
    Molded in white and clear with chrome plated parts and soft black tires.
    The Ford Bronco is a model line of sport utility vehicles manufactured and marketed by Ford. The first SUV model developed by the company, five generations of the Bronco were sold from the 1966 to 1996 model years. A sixth generation of the model line was introduced for the 2021 model year.[1] The nameplate has been used on other Ford SUVs, namely the 1984-1990 Bronco II compact SUV and the 2021 Bronco Sport compact crossover.
    Originally developed as a compact off-road vehicle using its own chassis,[2] the Bronco initially competed against the Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout. For 1978, Ford enlarged the Bronco, making it a short-wheelbase version of the F-Series pickup truck; the full-size Bronco competed against the Chevrolet K5 Blazer and Dodge Ramcharger.
    Following a decline in demand for large two-door SUVs, Ford discontinued the Bronco after the 1996 model year, replacing it with the four-door Ford Expedition; followed by the larger Ford Excursion. After a 25-year hiatus, the sixth-generation Bronco is now offered as a mid-size two-door SUV for the first time. It competes directly with the Jeep Wrangler.
    From 1965 to 1996, the Ford Bronco was manufactured by Ford at its Michigan Truck Plant in Wayne, Michigan, where it will also manufacture the sixth-generation version.
    Beginning production development in 1977[16] (before its predecessor was released for sale) the 1980-1986 Bronco was designed to address many concerns that held the 1978-1979 Bronco out of production. Nominally shorter and lighter, the 1980 Bronco was designed to adopt a more efficient powertrain while retaining its full-size dimensions.
    In 1982, the Ford Bronco II made its debut.
    Ranger Boats are a popular line of bass fishing boats designed primarily for black bass fishing. Since launching, the company has expanded their line of boats to offer recreational options as well. The company has fiberglass boats, but with the modern success of the aluminum boat on top tournament trails, unveiled an aluminum series. The company was founded in 1968 by Forrest L. Wood in Flippin, Arkansas. Ranger is generally credited with the introduction of the modern bass boat.[1][third-party source needed]
    Ranger is a major sponsor of the Wal-Mart FLW Tour, the largest tournament trail in the world, holding tournaments across the United States, as well as globally. The tour is named for F. L. Wood originally, but has since changed the name to Fishing League Worldwide to become more inclusive for global competition. FLW still pays tribute to Forrest. L Wood by naming their championship event Forrest Wood Cup.
    Ranger Boats and all of the brands under Fishing Holdings LLS were acquired by Bass Pro Group in a deal signed in December 2014. The deal included Bass Pro acquiring the Ranger, Triton Boats, and the Stratos Boats brands. Several bass boat companies are manufactured in the same facility, but are sold separately as individual brands by dealerships

    The box contains two COMPLETE, highly detailed and cleverly "accessorized" model kits, for the price of one truck kit. Boater or land-lubber, either one, will love this kit - so much to offer. Again, I can't believe the bargain. Thanks Model Roundup and thanks Chris for a very fine build. I'm pausing to order - be right back.

    Very cool build! I'm going to have to get one! I love bass fishing. My uncle had a Silver, black and red pin stripped bronco. ( Factory color combo). Needs a few scaled fishing poles and Bass Pro Shop decals.
    I tried the Colorshot Paint, it works very well for rattle can paint. Keep up the cool videos! And Fish on!!

    This was an interesting kit combination, and I always enjoy your communication and presentation.
    I do think Revell missed getting the shape of the Bronco right. Hopefully, they will address the too-flat across front appearance of the grille / bumper / hood in a future re-issue. I'll wait until then to purchase one. This looks too much like a Dodge with Ford lettering in front, Revell.

    just wanted to let you know i am scratch building a 1995 ford bronco out of a this model kit .I will be purchasing another gone fishing 1980 ford Bronco model to build box stock though. I have the body 95 percent done done. I have not started on the interior yet. But it is coming along. I am using the amt 1994 F -150 short bed model kit as the donor to build the 1995 ford Bronco.

    I like how you could also use the trailer for other things like carrying dirt bikes or something if you don't install the runners for boat hull

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. Revell used it for a race boat, which would be a cool kit combo to see come back, the race boat and another truck to haul it. Maybe the RamCharger?

    @chassegallerie2910 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yeah, don't really matter. Guess they did it that way, 'cuz they have re-released the Ramcharger not too long ago. So, just need to buy the Ramcharger for peeps that want the original combo (like me). It's also a good excuse to buy 2 kits. lol
    EDIT: Oh my! How time go by fast! The Ramcharger is actually a 2016 release! O.o

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Trying out new ideas and tricks to move things along faster when building. Works pretty well so far.
      Mod podge is still my go to for windshields, etc since it's nice and thick and holds them in place.

    Looks like a good little kit. Not to be a rivet counter or a purist, I find it a shame that they used a later style serpentine belt for the small block Ford engine which wouldn't be seen on a truck till the introduction of the EFI engines in 1985. Its also a shame that they use the '73-'79 under hood fenders/firewall.
    In the end it wont stop me from getting this kit, I just had planned on robbing parts off this kit to make my Ford Ranger flareside pickup truck kit more accurate as I am building it to reflect my truck. I already planned on getting the '90ish F250 dually truck kit to rob the 2wd twin I-beam front suspension and rob the firewall and under hood fenders to transplant as its more accurate layout wise than my Ford Ranger kit is. Something I want to do as I am replicating a personal vehicle down to the KO1 BFG tires I got from a online vendor. I even contemplating sourcing a 3D scanner to scan my engine as it sits on the engine stand to 3D print an exact copy of my engine for the kit.
    I been trying to get the El Camino box set with the bass boat to use the bass boat with my Ranger kit and build the El Camino up as mine. but not anymore.

    If I may ask, what was the tool called that you used to press the masking into the corners of the boat hull?

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I call it a burnishing tool. I think artists call them rubber brushes. Craft stores have them in the paint brush sections.
