With FTX's Bankruptcy inching forward in the United States Court system, and Senate hearings in tow... its time to start discussing whether or not Sam Bankman Fried will be around to see their conclusion.
Arrested in the Bahamas, and now serving time in Fox Hill Prison... an interesting breadcrumb trail has emerged that seems to indicate a darker agenda behind these decisions. For a time it seemed apparent that SBF might be protected... but now that picture is changing.

Bernie Madoff received 150 years, and Sam Bankman-Fried's exploitation and widespread fraud was far more pervasive that Madoff ever did. Sam should receive closer to 200 years, but I'm going to guess he'll be pardoned on the last day of Biden's Presidency or "Epstein'd" at the prison he is currently being held. Either or, I'd wager nothing will be done about any of this crap, and it's just as likely that Sam's name is a lie, nothing but smoke to bring forward such measures of corruption to fund certain figures, only for Sam to go into hiding with the assumption of being "Epstein'd" in prison

Frankly its worse. They KNEW what they were doing. They are protected by higher beings, and i suspect these bastards will get absolute zero practical punishments, and their traces will strangely be gone and they will have a load of FU money, directly funded from belly of the beast.
They not only laundered money, they gave excuse to tyrants to 'regulate the crypto' aka top down absolute track and control of all transaction above earth through CASHLESS society.
Tyrants got everything they wanted and everyone else, no matter how aware of these evil deeds, are proven to be powerless to stop this AND further future schemes to take away your financial rights. (And eventually your natural human rights.)
Worst thing is, noone will rebel with passion. Just exposing the evil wont change anything. They broke civil contract over, over, and over again and they will get away with every single evil they have done because noone has guts to revoke their right to be insidious scums.
People will eat it up. That bothers me the most. Sheep will remain sheep no matter how brazen they are. Bad game. BG.

Madoff made it 30+ years as a criminal, bilked hundreds of thousands out of hundreds of millions, and the worst they did to him was send him to gen pop, where he quickly befriended a Mafia Don and got protection. Fried will probably get a few years in minimum security, MAYBE a hefty fine(that he probably won't pay) and be out on the streets before he's 35. He's the "young kid" who "made some mistakes" but "wants to learn from his errors, and be a better person." And he can't do that locked up with "real" criminals, his attorney will probably spew...

I was surprised that the US State Department hadn't already reached out to have him extradited ASAP, but now it's not so mystifying. Better to let him sit there in the Bahamas and things will be "taken care of." Far too many people in DC who don't want difficult questions answered. The comparisons to Epstein are obvious and unmistakable.

The fact that this guy lost billions of dollars of people's money and so many places just stroked his epeen so hard is just awful. Even IF he had the best intentions he still lost a lot of people's money, which is awful regardless of intention. Past that it's really scary that people happily accepted that the CEO had no idea what was going on inside the thing he owned. If he was that ignorant of the happenings within his own company that is an incredible problem that shouldn't be handwaved.
He's not a goofy kid selling lemonade spilling over a couple cups or forgetting the sugar, he's a grown adult owning a company that was supposed to be protecting other people's money and lost so much of it while doing things he wasn't supposed to be doing with that money.

Just want to point out, a lot of medium-sized tech companies have a request/approval system that's routed thru Slack somehow. Using that for accounting info is pretty awful, but it's more common than one might think. I work in a post-production department at a social media company and much of the project update, quality-control and delivery system (not financial info!) functions off of an automated Slack bot that uses Airtable as a backend.

Whenever I hear stories like this, I think back to a time right around the late 80s. When a new and exciting program crashed onto the television: Amazing Discoveries. The products were hot garbage, the prices borderline criminal, but they had their sales pitch down note for note. They knew exactly what to say at the time to convince anyone, even me, to pick up a phone and buy that thing that "...would change my life forever..." Never forget: the best con comes looking like it is your salvation. And ever since the infomercial rose to global prominence, it's been one sad dance after another for the con artists.
