Long Live Power Metal!!! Grew up on Iron maiden , Halloween , Etc.. Always a special place in this man's heart for good old Power Metal.
And we're glad you're here to be one of the few that check out the power metal coverage! More to come!
Thorn of Thrones ruuuuuulez!!!! Grabbing that album for sure
It took me a few spins to absorb it, but it clicked hard with me. Love the musicianship and his voice. Solid and often overlooked album it seems. Thanks for watching!
Awesome to get a 3 for one!
About Power Metal - it's frustrating to have to always be "apologetic" and "defensive" about the subgenre. I think the most important thing to emphasize is that it's an extremely varied subgenre that shouldn't be stereotyped.
I feel like the term can be a double-edged sword - great for attracting people who are already fans but also can repel people with a false stereotype of it.
I've always seen Týr as a Folk Metal band first and foremost but they really are quite different to most Folk Metal so I think the Power Metal term applies to them well, now that I think about it.
They're one of my all time favourite bands and it's kind of funny that I never considered they are Power Metal - but it totally fits, especially for their last few albums and in particular this new one.
Regarding the Apologetic comment. I agree with you. We shouldn't have to make ourselves feel better about something we enjoy. I've largely broken through the "i no longer give a shit" feelings when listening to the cheesy stuff.... especially if I enjoy it. It's all just heavy metal. There are a million different styles.... enough to suit everyones individual tastes. But I guess I still feel compelled to put it out there what people are about to experience.... especially for what is likely an extreme metal dominant viewership. Hope theyre ready!! With HM, we aim to dip in to all facets of metal. Thanks for watching!
@@HeavyMetallurgy Thanks for the reply, I only found the channel recently and have been catching up on old videos.
Really the best in-depth Metal channel on all of TH-cam!
No other channel comes close in terms of diving so deep into topics and discovering hidden gems. Thanks for the awesome content and album recommendations!
Where all my fellow power metal lovers at? Let's go!!
Right here!! Thanks for watching!
Although I’m not a fan of those bands I appreciate the time spent on the genre. I like my newer power metal bands to boarder on the traditional/speed metal end of the spectrum i.e. Blazon Stone, Persuader, Lonewolf, etc.
Great bands there for sure. We will be covering more of it when the opportunity rises as it's important to make this channel diverse in its metal coverage. Thanks for watching!
The power metal bands I've been jamming lately is
Freternia
Vhaldemar
Heimdall
Will check them out! Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still just scratching the surface of modern power. Thanks for watching!
Hey Marty, check the greek band Sunburst out, they released a great debut in 2016 and their sophomore album will be out next friday. From Greece I also recommend Wardrum!!!
thanks for the heads up!! I'll eventually circle around to these 2.
Love power metal
I'm with you there!! Thanks for watching!
I'm certainly one of those for whom promoting power metal is completely hopeless
Well you never know!! But we have to and want to appeal to all styles of metal on this channel. Thanks for watching!
