I’m an older fella in my upper seventies and this channel has given me the will to live even with a terminal illness. I look forward to every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and those days I am blessed with extra content. I wish I could support this hero in other ways but I just barely make it anyway. I wish to express my gratitude to Mr Ian for doing what he does and giving me a reason to wake up in the mornings. Thank you to everyone who makes this possible. I wish the very best of health and happiness to you all and also to your families!!!

Well said! I'm facing a similar situation and while I don't have the mobility I had two years ago, my escape is through videos like these (and oddly, Maine real estate videos!) which give a little more color to a bland day.

While I definitely love the content as well there's absolutely nothing that compares with the Good News (Gospel) that God has given us all a way to The Kingdom through Jesus's work on the cross.

The balloon RC idea is super cool. The puzzle with interrupted activity is also brilliant. No doubt it becomes a challenge to have your brain go in and out the specific task successfully. I can imagine being into the puzzle and you hear "wall" and do a pushup instead because you're not really focusing, just auto-piloting that you need to do something different. Happy to see 49 people wanted to go for Breacher, that was definitely the cherry on the top for the shooting challenges.

      Yes
But I have never seen anything of his separate from this competition on TH-cam, I have been watching Ian’s videos on TH-cam for about 15 years now and I actually met Ian at a Gun Show in Phoenix, Arizona- USA 🇺🇸 once.
I only know of Ziga and Bloke on the Range though Ian.
What I should have said is that I don’t know of anyone else on Ian’s TH-cam videos level of knowledge and content in the USA 🇺🇸 that is in good enough shape, conditioning willing to step up to the plate and take on a challenge like this.
There are many others out there on TH-cam that do Gun stuff like Mike Jones / Garand Thumb, Administrative Results with perhaps some others that could pull off doing this competition, but Ian is the only one who has gotten to go to this competition, done well and returned to do it again, both for our entertainment and for his own benefit/ satisfaction of having done it so many years in a row.
With my comments to Ian and everyone involved with this competition, I didn’t mean anything negative or disrespectful to anyone, I was only trying to be respectful and supportive.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen and that was involved, I greatly appreciate their hard work and sacrifices to make this happen.
Any real competitor needs to know their limitations due to their age, injuries, and physical fitness and that is why I myself and many others make no effort whatsoever to try to compete in this competition, along with the main reason for a lot of people, we just can’t afford it.
So thanks again to Ian and everyone else involved in making this happen.

@@storytimedavidcollins2897 what a load of... very well elaborated and reasoned reply. Thank you.
And you are right. But I think you underestimate the social aspect and great fun this is and which surrounds it. I am Danish, so no shooting competitions for me, but I do Viking Reenactment Fighting, which is also insanely hard, and which has given me chronic injuries and pains. Yet I keep doing it. Because of the adrenaline kick (a battle has the same boost as jumping out of a plane with a parachute on your back), the social aspect, the wish to excell, the outdoor-life experience, the friendships, the competition, the mead-drinking, etc.
I suspect FB is similar. I want to see Henry, Josh and Mike Jones try participate. I was glad to see Crawford, and I am happy to see Nick Moran this year.

I’ve got an idea for a new optional challenge, between day 1 and 2 everyone sleeps in a on site Barracks, and at all times there needs to be two people on guard (the contestants get to pick who and set the schedule) those guards are armed with paintball guns, and they have to guard against a few people armed with flashbangs (like the tagin ones for airsoft) who try and sneak upto the barracks and throw them inside with the (soon to be not) sleeping contestants. If the invaders get shot they have to go back to their start area and maybe wait an hour or something before trying again.
I feel like the point is super self explanatory, if the guards that are tired from a long day of “fighting” nod off, everyone’s night gets screwed up. I feel that would be pretty interesting anyways.

There is no need to bring own ammo when all the ammunition in the world is available for you in Finland. Clearly he just didn't know in advance the ammo he was provided would cause malfunctions. Also it's not about winning the competition in brutality. If you have malfunctioning ammunition with the gun, it's not that big of a deal.

It's not a Brutality rule, but due to the Finnish firearm import/export laws bringing your own gun is fairly straightforward. Importing ammunition is more complicated. And the organizers take this into account, so asking them to supply ammo is much simpler than bringing your own.

So last year they had a spinner in the match, so everyone brought their .308 rifles because of the spinner threat. It is almost like one target dictates the gear needed.

the choice of 308s last year was a theme, nothing to do with the targets

The design of stages is unknown to the competitors. We decide the theme without knowing about any of the challenges

Saw someone on tiktok do the 14:25 challenge by simply grabbing them by the top handles (almost like Ian tried) and beat the record they had by a few seconds (Think he did it in less than a minute). So yeah, "most" did it more or less the way you did XD

As a Finn, I hope during these years u have learned few nonEnglish curse words, that are rather effective sounding no matter in whatever country and situations u use them...

I'm surprised there was nothing relating to BreachING in "Breacher".

    • @AnttiVaittinen
      @AnttiVaittinen หลายเดือนก่อน

The intent was to call it the Jääkäri/Jaeger/Infantry challenge, but the name Breacher stuck, so that is what they/we went with. But yeah, "A Grunt Challenge " would have made a bit more point ;)

Last year they had to break boards with a mallet simulating breaching. But it's basically just the name for the "physical challenge" category.

How often do you visit the UK Ian? I'm pretty sure you could hire a small to medium sized venue, and sell tickets for "An evening with xxxxx" kinda deal, with a Q&A and some interesting anecdotes. I'd certainly buy a ticket (and I'm only 50 miles south of Leeds, so pick somewhere close if you do).
