    I’m struck by the eloquence of daughter in law of Gen Patton, Joanne Patton, in her little speech to the community, she is like that wise aunt, mother, grandmother that you can go to and walk away with life wisdom you can count on. Especially when life puzzles you with a problem that requires wisdom and common sense, unclouded by anything else. She must have been a fantastic person.

    Fine video, but the loud music distracts one from the content. I have long been an admirer of Patton, and proudly wore the Third Army patch when I served 1962-1965

    When did he live there? He grew up in CA, went to VMI, then West Point. Lived his entire adult life in the Army. And his wife died in 1953. How is she still living there?

      His sister and brother-in laws bought the farm for the Pattons while they were fighting WWII. When the general and his wife came back to the US, they stayed there. It was supposed to be their retirement home, but his death prevented that from happening. The Mrs. Patton mentioned in this video is the wife of Patton's son. also an American general. That Mrs. Patton lived in the house up to a few years ago, when she donated the farm to the Town of Hamilton to become a museum. Dave Welsh

    General George S. Patton was born in the San Gabriel Valley and grew up in San Marino California in Los Angeles. His family is buried in their family church that they would all attend. There’s even a statue of General Patton at the church cemetery. I know I’ve been there myself I’m from Los Angeles California born and raised.

      Yes, Samuel everything you say is quite correct. Later on in his life he married the daughter of a general from New England. His in-laws bought them a house in Hamilton, Massachusetts while they were occupied with WWII as a retirement home. That's where he was staying when I met him in 1945. It is a beautiful farm, and there is even a farm store which sells products produced there. He also had a car accident on a lonely road in Ipswich, Massachusetts, and spent several weeks in a fabulous mansion recuperating since there was no nearby hospital. His daughter-in-law, Joanne Patton, lived in the Hamilton house for years, then gave it to The Town of Hamilton. She recently received The Peace Medal from The Consul General of The Republic of Korea.

      @@pixiecropolis That still doesn’t make General Patton from Massachusetts or Virginia or Boston or New York or anywhere on the East Coast. He was a California born Los Angeles native. His roots are deep in San Marino. His family still lives in the house he grew up in. Just because he lived on the East Coast later in life does not take away from Patton being a California boy. If you claim that Patton was from anywhere other then the San Gabriel Valley then you’d be lying. He was California through and through.

      @@samuelplacensia753 So in your version of history you cannot own or live in anyplace else except where you were born? No second home, no retirement home, no vacation property? You may only have one home?Furthermore your descendants may not as well? Do you live in the home and town where you were born? Most of don't. It's okay Patton was big enough to share. You can have him during the week and every other holiday. The rest of us will have the weekends.

    This video is from 2014..yet the man is saying that Mrs. Patton still lives there. That's wrong. She died in 1953 so this man is giving false information

    • @pixiecropolis
      @pixiecropolis  6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Very astute of you, Terry. You and the man are, however, both correct. General Patton's son was also an American general with the same name. He served in Korea. He lived in the house of his father. The Mrs. Patton referred to is his wife, the daughter-in-law of General George S. Patton Senior. She donated the homestead to the Town of Hamilton, and it is now open to the public. Mrs. Patton just received the Republic of Korea's Ambassador of Peace medal from Korea's Consul General. I recorded the ceremony, and I was quite impressed. I hope this explains everything. Thanks for watching my videos. Dave Welsh - Pixie Video Productions

It's time to play, it's time to kill! I want a killer division." this is a speech of the person that you call an hero. Patton refers to italians people. several Americans who came to "free Italy" carried out massacres in violation of the Geneva conventions precisely to follow Patton's words "not to show grace". he is a war criminal who went unpunished
