I've admired Ralph Nader all my adult life (now 80). Am delighted he's still fighting the good fight. The stars he's piled up in Heaven shine brightly. So, too, do the ones earned by President Jimmy Carter during his long, honorable and productive life.

When the Vietnam Veterans Memorial was dedicated in 1982, Mrs LBJ could have shown up but didn't bother. Nor did Carter, whose legendary compassion didn't extend to the Viet vets struggling before his eyes. Nixon, Ford, and Reagan didn't show up either. That's how veterans of the biggest war of our lifetime were treated.

Pres. Carter, Sen. Bernie Sanders, & Public Safety Advocate Ralph Nader all represent how being disciplined, conscientious activists, life long readers, and exempliary idealists are forced to fight absurd bizarre battles with an American zeitgeist that acts as if survival of the human species & all American dreams are only backing a sports team, eating at a fast food franchises, and electing their commercial spokes model thru fake christian rhetoric & white nationalist extortion.
If Ronald Reagan lived in 2025 he would be a Teapub chickenhawk tobacco salesman, wearing a purple Grimace suit telling Trump how to lie to Americans in a McD's commercial, done in homage to Bedtime for Bonzo.

It was unfortunate because a lot of the sabotaging in the halls of Congress was lead by Ted Kennedy who was still winching from Carter getting the DNC nomination for the 1976 Election.
Unfortunately there were a number of us Women Voters who were influenced by Kennedy. I regret to this day that in the second election I voted for an Independent Candidate.
Since I learned about the work of the Carter Center, I have been sending contributions as part of my penance for my stupidity in not campaigning and voting for him the second time.
I also have become a more educated and active voter since that time.

While Chris Hedges and some others criticize Carter for his neoliberal policies, they haven't contributed anything as useful as Carter's labor.
From the beginning as a peanut farmer, his family enterprise and labor contributed to the affordable nutrition of working families with the peanut butter we all ate as children. He built homes with the skills in his own hands.
    Thanks Ralph.

Half of you lose anyway, many voting for a candidate you don't even like. Before the Reagan era started the corporate takeover of this nation and its government, we were taught in Civics the importance of third party voting was critical to the democratic process in never allowing a 2-party duopoly where the election (both parties and the people) could be easily manipulated.
