Muldrotha is going to build into some pretty nasty decks: - Stax, do you enjoy Smokestack? Well you're in luck cause you are gonna see it forever - Battlecruiser, reanimating Ulamog or such turn 4/5 sounds pretty good. Or cheating in a Sheoldred or Jin-Gitaxias. - Something something Dredge, one of the most famous broken mechanics in all of Magic. - lands decks or Git Gud Frog decks blowing up other peoples lands and get to recast wasteland, Strip mine and Dustbowl every turn sounds pretty good.
@@leonmercury3732 I gave her Phenax's job in my Mill Deck so now I can mill my opponents, mill myself, replay value permanents constantly, and amass a hoard of Zombies. So much fun.
Important thing to note though, with Muldrotha, playing a land from graveyard counts towards the limit of 1 land per turn and thus can only be used if you have not played a land that turn yet.
neural_physics I already ordered and have been play testing my build. Words of Wind seems like a nasty combo piece, and I'm experimenting with Glasses of Urza as a "peek" ability
I honestly dont like the fact that WOTC changed the text to say "Add three mana of any one color." and not "Add three mana of any one color to your mana pool." Because now new players are not gonna know what the fuck the first one means. Add it to what?
I agree in the sense that just wasn't an area where Wotc needed to spent time an effort. What do we gain from this change, not much? But its not nearly as disastrous as the planeswalker change. So if I play any red card ever, I need to look it up on gatherer to see if it can hit a PW, great move wotc.
Thran Temporal Gateway also works with Legendary sorceries, enchantments, LANDS and planeswalkers. Have fun playing Nykthos/Gaeas' cradle/Dark Depths etc... or maybe playing Urza's ruinous blast at instant speed to wrath a board (saves your gate as well. Planar bridge is also a funny thing to flash out whilst tutoring for another card with it again. The historical amulet will warp games.
I use Muldrotha, and I just mill myself for the most part, all my cards work from the grave and being able to bring things back using her just dominates the field.
Rafa could get an honorable mention. You use him in your background. He's a Vedalkan Orrey on a stick, and no one seems to care?!? I hear very little buzz around him.
I myself constructed a [rough draft] list for Muldrotha, it's essentially a pillow fort combo deck The goal is to dredge my deck and reanimate all the pillows and things with Muldrotha, then win with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord and Lord of Extinction/Consuming Aberration [or the like]
you draw your deck and do what blue does better then any color and combo off. Conveniently most combos also like artifacts. I have high hopes at the very least.
You mean how do you win with a commander that let's you draw a stupid amount of cards, in colors that like to combo off? Not every commander has to be the wincon of the deck, you know?
I tried making a deck with her and Muldrotha is mainly support. You can't just have her be the engine. I.E. Karador (was mentioned) works WAY better on his own. You need to have an already busted deck for Muldrotha to be oppressive. She is very overrated and not as good as you think. A deck that only comes online turn 6? No thank you. I already run 5 mana commanders and that sucks really bad. It is super hard to do what you want AFTER ramping once or twice AFTER getting your 5 cmc commander. Trust me on this guys, you want the Mimeoplasm for a fast, graveyard, Sultai shard deck.
I destroyed my friend with a muldrotha + universal solvent combo, a bit costy BUT in the turns that i didn't need universal solvent I would just recover Renegade Map/traveler's amulet/Terramorphic expanse (shit like that)from the graveyard, i ended up with like 30 mana on the board + a mox amber and a gilded lotus
And with Muldrotha the best thing it's that you can return one land, one creature, one artifact, one enchantment and one planeswalker from your graveyard each turn, so I think that the rule text put that is one of each, it's really necesary to be in some way a fair commander, I mean, it's very nasty just like that.
I think the best thing about Muldrotha is the fact that you can theoretically reanimate up to 3 creatures per turn, but they need to be one artifact-creature one enchantment and one of your choice. The first synergy that I can see with this is using them as sac outlets, there are a ton of cheap creatures and artifact creatures for this. If you come up with something else please let me know, I'm really excited about this card as a commander
yeah! I thought to some artifact creatures, some enchantment creatures and/or some enchantments like animate dead. I thought into some creatures that make me sacrifice constantly and get some pretty good effects hahaha, I hope it works and we will see :D
In case you didn't get an answer yet, no. Mirari's Wake adds the mana itself, so the land still only taps for one. The only doubler I can think of is Mana Reflection, as it actually replaces the effect of tapping for one with tapping for 2 (or however much else).
Well the Teferi planeswalkers are absolutely not equil. Even with doubling season )which is green) gaining an extra turn is NOT crazy. Yust play Timewarp instead its cheaper While the hero has carddraw, removal and yes i would say even his ultimate is stronger. And he is cheaper to play. So... absolutely not equil again. Karn and Joira are also awesome. Probably even a good choise for modern affinity decks. Means real value. Sereously many of theese cards here arent that strong or playable. Tempest djinn alone breaks most of them in that matter. They are well designed and fun cards. Nice for commander, and i would say based on design i might let it count but in modern or even legacy/vintage i doubt they will see a lot of play. There i would suggest karn, tempest djinn, maybe jaja ballard and tefery in the right decks and the 1 mana 2/1 soldier you can sac to grant immortality for white wheenie.
i build a Muldrotha deck. by far best card in the set. i'm calling it right now, next commander to get banned. if you go all out on the deck, you have the most OP commander since Leovold.... put all reanimator cards, ITB cards, planewalkers and Mind Control cards you have in the deck and watch not having anymore friends or anyone wanting to play you.....it's disgusting!
Setup Muldrotha with palinchron and deadeye navigator for the infinite mana -- then you can pair nav with Muldrotha and if you do, infinitely bouncing her you can play your grave for free, not just one per turn
Just because its in Dominaria does not mean it should make the list. Its a great reprint, but because it is a reprint its also not exclusively a Dominaria card. So therefore i believe only unique set cards should make it onto a list like this.
thedanath Voidmage Gamer This is good advice. I like where thedanath is coming from and please consider this for future videos. I for one am onboard for a "notable reprints" possiblity after the whole list because that what Gilded Lotus is....just a notable reprint.
Jhoira is groooossssssss, but everyone else has already roasted you about how wrong you are on her so I won't dogpile. Radha and Jodah are hot garbage though wtf. Radha requires a winning board state to do anything, the definition of a win-more card. Jodah does almost literally nothing in a good deck, where all your cards -don't- cost 8 mana, and it's an embarrassing card for the character it represents, frankly. I'd rather just ramp into my big spells and have a commander that does something useful. Hero of Dominiara is super underrated too, miles and miles ahead of Timebender, who shouldn't be anywhere near this list.
Mox amber is pure garbage for competitive. 1) Conditional: Only online when you have a legendary permanent out. Lots of 0-1 mana rocks that don't have conditions on them. True, most don't make colored mana, but you don't have to jump through a hoop. 2) Lots of rocks that easily take it's place that can even generate more mana than it. This is it's 2nd biggest killer. With such a huge list of rocks that are viable in competitive commander how can you put this on there while removing another? 3) Doesn't fix or ramp in the early game. While it's totally true that competitive games can still last long before turn three you need spells that impact the early game far more than late game haymakers since this is such an early start format. Games are literally won within the first three turns of the game whether it's literal or I have to drag it out a bit more.
I think one of the best uses for the mox amber is in an artifact deck with a cheap commander. The first (and maybe best) example that comes to my mind is Sydri. She only costs 3 (one of each esper color) and needs colored mana to activate her abilities, so a 0 cost mana rock that taps for every color she needs is really useful, plus it's an artifact, so you could use it in some of the combos and it goes infinite with the salvaging station combo, just like the blue artifact land. Other that this I do agree with you, it's really really situational and I don't think that many decks are even going to consider it, I hope this will bring the price of it down since I want one for the Sydri deck that I would like to build xD
Yeah I could see it working in Sydri maybe. Still....I just can't get around having a situational ROCK. I don't like the feel of it. Especially when there are so many rocks that can help you do things within it's cmc even.
I mainly have to agree but where I disagree because you are looking at the card wrong. In Jhoira it is 0 mana get a mana draw a card and that is worth it.
Being good in one deck doesn't mean the card is good by itself. In a vacuum it's one of the worst rocks in competitive commander over all. Good in Jhoira? Ya damn right it is. Outside of Jhoira you won't see this card much once the hype finally settles down.
Mox amber is terrible in commander. Why would you want mana acceleration? to get out your commander. when does this mox start ramping you? oh right, when you already cast your commander. It is terrible terrible ramp and every signet is better. You COULD argue for this mox in a deck like captain sisay but anything else it is just useless.
Karn is average in commander. A once a turn token creature with zero keywords might be broken in standard, but certainly tame in commander even if you have a bunch of artifacts.
Muldrotha is overrated, dampening sphere is just another hate bear in commander, lichs mastery is god awful, mox amber is amazing, karn is better than teferi in commander, jhoira is broken, that red green pice of hot garbage at the begining will never see play and has nothing on jhoira, squee is not a commander and is instead a food chain combo pice in prosh, there are better cards in the set than thran temporal gateway, teferi timebender is not a good card, and helm of the host jhoda are just jank cards, and if you are a casual why did you not include firesong and sunspeaker on your list.
Sasuke kuniski I'm currently at 13 decks, and thatss from playing half a year. I like the card, and I'm taking sol rings out to replace with lotus's. Not a waste if I enjoy the card.
I wouldn't take out sol ring for gilded lotus if I were you, sol ring comes out much faster and even though it only gives colorless mana it really speeds up the early game and could even help you get the lotus on the field faster for more artifact mana ramp
You're doing decent work. It is time to get rid of the phrase 'making it to where' in your speaking. You say it a lot, and it is meaningless. In most cases omitting it would not change the meaning of your statement. You would sound better, and I think it's fair to mention.
Man. I feel like you could have made a top 10 for each color in this set. As a timmy, I am very happy.

.... I don't agree with joihra as just a mention.
She is a hot mention with cedh players and I for one am building a spicy egg deck with her.

Also almost all good UR generals are about spells and Jhoira is permanent based.
This comment wins the day.
we've been playing against a deck with her in my playgroup and she is just nuts
Tidespout Tyrant and Sol Ring are best buds with Jhoira. (mox amber too)
Can you cast squee from an oblivion ring?

FDG it's just cause where else would you add the mana to? Using the term mana pool anymore just seems redundant

Spending 4 mana for a cradel does not seem optimal to me
WHOOOOO DYING FOR MULDROTHA!! Already love my mimeoplasm deck and this is just beautiful.
I think that it is pretty overated

I use Muldrotha, and I just mill myself for the most part, all my cards work from the grave and being able to bring things back using her just dominates the field.

Sounds like a fun casaual build that might actually work unlike the people that are trying to do crazy combos that they will never pull off
I don't think Lich;s Mastery will be a staple simply because Cyclonic Rift is so often played in EDH
I dont think that it will se play because it is shit
That 5 color guy in a legendary superfriends deck anyone? With that nifty artifact equipment?
wheres the opening theme?
would rethink Jhoira. When lab maniacs list a card as possibly the best izzet commander right now, it should at least be on the list.
How would you win with this jhoira?
you draw your deck and do what blue does better then any color and combo off. Conveniently most combos also like artifacts. I have high hopes at the very least.

Is black lotus gonna be reprinted
TyllerGamer ! Yes
Rly? Cool
Raging Chicken black lotus is on the reserved list they can NOT reprint it
If they do reprint it then there will be huge backlash from investors.
@@TheGreedyKing they should!
And just take it off the list, problem solved!👍
My EDH deck is mostly legendary creatures. That mox is sweet.
Jhoira is a fucking beast. She plays like sram but far better color combination. Really ez to OTKO early in the game. Really excited to exploit her

Muldrotha+deadeye navagitor+ lions eye diamond= infinite colored mana of all colors
VenomouzElite Muldrotha with totem armor is a cool thing. That commander is going to be busted.
dolfo10564
Omg yeah
I would rather not play a 3 card 12 mana investment combo that would cost me like 300 bucks and make me discard my hand.
There's already like a dozen other creatures that give infinite mana with deadeye by themselves. Deadeye is the card that needs to be banned.
Jake Murphy deadeye is not nearly good enough to be bann worthy
Muldrotha + Command Beacon = Commander never costs more
Muldrotha + Deadeye Navigator + Lion's Eye Diamond = Deadeye resets Mulrrotha allowing infinite mana with LED.
Muldrotha + Second Chance = Infinite Turns (at 5 or less life)
Other honorable mentions: Mindlsaver, Stripmine, Memory Jar, Glen Elendra, Mulldrifter, Pernicious Deed, Cumulative Upkeep cards (mystic remora), Oblivion Stone, Lake of the Dead, Fetch Lands, Cycling Lands, 'Free' cards (Treachery),
Thanks for all the shitty three card combos that cost like more than ten and the shitty two card synergies that are not that great
Radha‘s pet card has to be Aggravated Assault. Infinite combat steps isn‘t too shabby.
You are not wrong but I think that at that point in the game I would rather just be playing a cool narset build
Helm of the host could be so much fun in a captain sisay deck.

I beg of you to instead play good cards
I made a brawl deck with muldrotha and if i crack her in a pack i will probably make it
2 words for helm of the host... Brothers Yamazaki,...
Another fodder for fucking food chain decks.. gr8.
i can see joira cherrios/storm as a fun build
Can relate
Build a mad max vehicles deck
Also damping sphere destroys competitive animar, probably gonna be a new staple in my group...
There are better cards to beat animar like things that say players can only cast one spell each turn because animar runs a lot of artifact removal
Time to get out my ground seals
Muldrotha is just so expected. She's gonna be everywhere. Meh
I'm more looking at Jodah 5-color legendary wizard tribal+big spells.
fist of sun looks like the infinity gauntlet

laughs in jhoira as i storm off on turn 4 with the win

Ryan Gainey that three card combo costs seven more mana than enter the infinite.
so you missed slimefoot and jhoira. they've already been broken and are going to make commander players lives miserable.
Slime foot is gonna make my Ghave Deck sweet.
Jhoira is broken but I have not really seen anything sweet with slimefoot yet
Slimefoot's ability works with infect. He actually makes a great solo commander.
I think mox amber is a little low, not gonna lie.
