Steps Required To Prepare Logs For Building

Earl Laverty summarizes the work that goes into preparing logs for scribing, notching and placing them in a building.
First, you have to spud the logs, removing the bark by hand with bark spuds. It's heavy work but it's worth the effort.
When the logs have seasoned a couple of weeks you can then start drawknifing.

The lodge pole pine that I just used on my cabin I pressure washed the bark off takes it right off along with the sap logs look great
