i mean now there is a site called tlauncher it cant play on non cracked server but the rest of the features are the same. to play u must go to tlauncher.org make an acc then download tlaucnher ok so when done open it log in with an acc install the ver u wann play in this is also moddable just download ur mods go open tlauncher click fiel button on the bottom right and then open or make a mods folder and then paste ur mods in then instal forge for the ver of mods u have and then install and then go to tlauncher click hte ver list there will be a aforge version for the ver u installed it for k have a nice day i still reccomend buying it buy bedrock not java if u wanna play with friends then buy bedrock k o and never accpet any files from strangers
