The first F1.4 lens for Nikon Z-mount has finally arrived: however, the Nikkor Z 35 mm F1.4 surprisingly did not receive membership in the manufacturer's premium club marked with an S. Another - pleasant - surprise is that the new product will hit the shelves at a more favorable price than the “S” variant of the F1.8: only $600 is being asked for the F1.4 edition. The optical formula contains a total of eleven lens elements organized into nine groups, two of which are aspherical. Focusing is performed by a stepper motor, which is fast and quiet enough to even be used for filmmaking. The Nikkor Z draws a 35mm F1.4 full-frame image circle, but offers a generous 50mm focal length on APS-C sensor frames. Its weight of 415 grams is accompanied by a size of 75 x 87 mm, the diameter of the filter passage is 62 mm.
