Congratulations! Sooo many 35mm lenses. Yes, please do a comparison between the old AIS 35mm and the new lens. Perhaps we may see some interesting results.
You should skip the F1.4 Ais - it's very soft and glowing wide open. The ai-s F2 version is a great lens, very similar to the AF-D version. I find the focus ring of the AF-D version a bit too wobbly and light - only a true manual focus lens will focus smoothly.
@@AndrejsZavadskis i shoot exclusively weddings. Should i go for the 1.8 s line or the 1.4? Maybe you can help me decide between the two since you own both! Appreciate your input
From what I have seen, they seem to perform very close to each other, optically. I can't come up with a good reason to drop my Sigma and buy this Z version. Not having to use the FTZ can't be the only reason to spend €750 and sell a perfectly good Art lens for peanuts. Also, the 35/1.4 Z seems to be closer to a 38mm, so it's less wide. I don't like that. But it's nice to know there is a successor if my Sigma lens breaks down or gets stolen. Although I'd much prefer an excellent Nikon S-Line 35mm F1.4 instead of this one with some budget cuts.
Congratulations!

Hello, very nice video! Thank you! I would be interested in a full comparison between z line 35mm f1.8 and f1.4 being about the same price...
Using Z8, was finding 35mm 1.4Ais , but I bought F2D finally because its good colour and cheap. However no autofocus while using FTZII is a problem.

can the new 35mm 1.4 replace my Sigma Art 1.4 with FTZII? what do you think?
YES. I sold all my Sigma ART lenses. 20, 35, 50, 85...
