There are pros and cons in this. I think it makes the high notes sound more effortless. But the heavier sound before gives me more sense of heartbrokenness, the lighter voice now gives me more chills and using less chest voice makes it smoothier but less impactful because of the strength.
Her upper register is more resonant recently than before and she feel more at ease hitting all those high notes. Regardless of her weight, she still amazing vocally!!! Thank you for this!!! Don't mind those haters!!!
Umm I would say it's mostly a technique change for her that corresponded with when she decided to lose weight. I don't really hear a noticeable change in her actual vocal chords. Besides her first pregnancy in 2014 and her voice deepening in 09' I don't think she's had that many physical changes to her voice despite how much her weight may have fluctuated.

I’m not gonna say weight doesn’t effect our vocal mechanism but to what extent is completely debatable. Her diaphragmatic breathing could be affected but not usually. If she wasn’t getting winded just standing up it wouldn’t have affected her singing most likely. But what ABSOLUTELY effects the voice is stress and the hormones it causes the body to produce. Fatigue and or sleep deprivation caused by stress. Not giving herself enough self care time including sufficient vocal rest time needed for recovery from chord over use via singing and talking. Which can be made worse if she happened to cry more than once for longer than a few minutes. I think the real test people should do is listen without watching and try to guess which version of Kelly you’re listening to. I think nobody wants to admit to themselves that we have some visual/aesthetic biases that are playing at least a small role in opinions on which version sounds better.

Her voice is incredible at any weight BUT it’s even better when she’s healthy, because her breath support is so much more effortless and that makes it easier for her to sing tbh
The whole voice seems to have lost some body everywhere, she has less presence the 3rd octave (especially lower than G3) and her falsetto seems to be thinner and more hooty. Her middle voice seems to be more rounded however and less throaty(raspy*) and more agile it seems. Extending into the higher middle is also evidently easier and more present.
she sustained lower ranged notes better when she was heavier & her upper belts are better sustained now that she’s lost weight but her falsetto sounded better when she was heavier imo

I can not hear any difference at all! The belting are still the same (as good as expected) But recently I noticed that she’s more emotional and feeling the songs. So it gave more taste. There was truly no difference. Idk what anyone is talking about. These so-called "differences" people [think they] hear can be observed in both dichotomies. The quality depends on the day and condition of her voice, not her weight. She sounds THE SAME. No difference. If anything, her previous seasons showcased greater proficiency than the current. So again, I don't understand what it is people are claiming to hear. It's in their heads lol. This woman sounds like they excellent vocalist she's always been. My conclusion is as follows: this video disproves the notion that her change in weight altered the quality of her voice. Any other conclusion means people need to train their ears. Possibly, but I don't think her weight had anything to do with it. Her recent HV executions have been poor, and her placement has been less consistent comparatively. Taking ALL of these observations into consideration, it just shows that it all depends on her condition that day. This video demonstrates that. Any improvements or lack thereof should be attributed to other factors

The biggest change I see is it's just hilarious that that massive voice comes out of such a tiny person. It's so hard to compare single performance now in a single performance then and some of those I wouldn't say that she was that heavy and she's probably 16 different weights in these clips. I don't think her voice is different either way except by being less heavy clearly have a better lung capacity and functioning all of your organs do better so I would say that just her physical health gives her more control and power
Weight loss does affect a person’s singing ability. Less fat pressing on all of your organs including your lungs and diaphragm. I’m glad she got rid of the excess weight (body weight AND her ex husband hahaha) and decided to focus on her health. She looks great and I’m sure she feels great.
