The two brothers were doing parkour in the UK, right? Jeez. A time when kids would jump off buildings and falling speed on high rails. A simpler time indeed. Instead we're left with everyone at each others throats.
Coming back to this song just puts me in deep thought, it helps my analytical side, the scope of my thoughts widens and focuses at the same time. It's brilliant and I love the atmosphere of this song.
@@NJA1039 Wow, your comment actually threw me into another thought loop, to marry the beat was the starting concept - finishing the beat into a song, doing what the energy intended to do. I've always had this bad habit of making drum beats, reminiscent of a song I can only hope to achieve in completing, but every time my inspiration progresses, I always end up doing the same exact thing. The beat intensifies with bass raised by about a 3rd of the original, the treble up by a 3rd and the mid range. It gives a bigger presence to the soundscape and really brings to life what the feeling emanates and has to offer as a beat (not a melody quite). Adding in the distortion (Every time) up until the point that it feels awesome to listen to, but as this continues I realize that the original idea has morphed into something I can't recognize anymore, from the speakers farting out true bass, the snare overamped to match the ridiculous pumping in the deep ocean of sound spewing out at this point...I can't really help it, even being aware that I wanted to make a song, to complete a song; It turns out the same way every time. It's as if I'm not meant to marry the two together, which is what sent me down this train of thought. It reminds me a lot of the matrix, the inner workings of the mind and how people, at least me in this sense, is bound by something chaotic rather than organized. I serve a function and even though I see what it is that exists and observe it as such, in real time there are certain boundaries that not even the perceiving mind's eye can keep up with. Unless you were to join the two ideas together, putting a limitation on that vast sea of information. A limitation to expand the limitlessness. A limiter on the bass, a limiter on the energy, a limiter on the perception an so on. It brings everything together in such an odd way that I've never thought of or been able to recognize before. In essence, slowing down for a greater top speed and total traveled distance. I've always thought to be in the now, but as I've come to learn, that only causes impatience and incompetence from my own view inward. To have the patience to travel further is almost better than being able to go fast. I guess in a way the wisdom of the Tortoise and the hare applied in a very logical scenario with different context. It makes me wonder if the greatest minds of the deepest quotes we could find knew that what they had come to learn could not be interpreted as such and were simply meant as allegories rather than traditional messages in a bottle from another time. You've solved an agelong problem for me with your two words, I appreciate the comment hahahaha. Thank you.
This song inadvertently got me into playing piano a few years back when I heard it and then learned what Prelude in E Minor was. It also just goes hard af.
Honestly. I do not believe electronic music of today is made like this anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'm an electronic head until i die, but this is on another level.
+bawbremy ,,, you are brilliant. I nearly missed the Chopin sample in my drunken stupor. I was just listening to Op 10/12 ,,,3 songs prior to clicking on this gem. Unreal,,,thanks.
Heard this song around it’s original release and I just heard Chopin’s prelude in e minor for the 1st time. Now I’m about to go Dive into Chopin for the next few weeks
It's called panning. It's used ever since stereo was invented... Rarely to this extreme tho. First time I heard it here my eyes started moving left and right :D
Koka Koka Actually it first appeared on the Cream Live 2 compilation mixed by The Psychonauts & James Lavelle. It saw a full album mix release in 2002 with 'Furious Angels'.
Just stumbled upon this song on pandora again, i have no idea why i didn't like it the first time i heard it years ago. maybe i was too impatient with the intro that i stopped it before getting past it... but holy shit am i glad i found it again, it's amazing.
In 2002 I came across this on a file sharing app although I don't remember what it was called. I was 12 years old and had fallen in love with the matrix and it's soundtrack. I decided to look for clubbed to death remixes and came across this beauty. Rob dougans is the shit btw
"Clubbed to Death 2" Furious Angels exclusive track. A more driving version than the 1 counterpart. It uses samples from Frédéric Chopin's Prelude in E Minor. " :p thanks wiki ... rob dougan is a god : D
is this what this mix is called as I've searched Discogs and cannot verify this?!?!?! many similar releases but this version beats them all unequivocally! pls help
@@ChamskiJR , The song title is "Clubbed to Death II", by Rob Dougan. It is track 15 on Disc #1 of the UK release version of his FURIOUS ANGELS album. This track is 6:10 long, but some versions will show 7:10, as the CD version has 1:00 of silence at the beginning. It was also used in a pretty cool commercial in the USA for the Lincoln LS (automobile).
Holy shit. I listened to this. Then I started listening to some Chopin for no reason. And I stumbled across one of his pieces. This is Prelude op. 28 no. 4. Listen to it.
It's cool to play Chopin's Prelude, No. 4, Op. 28 in E minor, and this interpretation is fine, too. Could you please respect the composer and not forget to mention his name. No risk, no copyrights reserved after 2 centuries. Respect
When a Hitman says "hey pull up to this driver in the limo" and all you hear is just this playing as a gun popping lead in the driver's head through the window of his car and the passenger in the back wonders what's going on but instead the traffic light is green the car pulls out and bullets flinging through the windshields and glass is being flung and then a truck Rams the head of the driver. Knocking him straight through the windshield of the hood of the car and the passenger is being thrown around like a ragdoll and yet he is being smashed repeatedly until the car tumbles over and comes to a halt.
I just tried to order Furious Angel's on vinyl. Not available. I don't even have a record player, but I wanted to break the ice with this one. Make it available, please!!!
@@marshalllee9360 ...and it's a little too small. At least they put some time into making the earth and lunar terminators (shadows) point in the correct direction.
Thanks for the great description explaining the versions. I had no idea I was listening to the Kurayamino version this entire time. I am about to go check out the First Mix to see what it sounds like.
Remember first hearing this song in around 2006 from a video called 2 brothers free running
me too, mate. I remember watching that in around 2006. You can still watch that video on TH-cam.
Yep, they increased the tempo on it.
Holy shit just watched it. Really cool
YES! that’s exactly what i remember this from, such a simpler time

This a mood. A reflection of our society today.
The man, to the myth, the legend. Rob achieves epitome in musical expression.
This version is an absolute tragedy. Not like the optimistic rainbow and sunshine version 1. Love it.

glad I'm not the only one to notice this. they sampled an already morbid sounding piece and made it sound even more dramatic, in my opinion. lol
