For a person living in London, I purchased a stunning beach house on the Garden Route in Wilderness, I had an ‘Auntie’ and her family stay in the staff house on site, it was like a 3 acre compound , had tall walls, electrified fencing and ADT armed response security. Sold it after the riots in Plettenberg, bit of a wake up call and a bit blonde to home. I knew the level of crime in SA was on a different level compared to London. Nonetheless, London is getting really bad now too, as a man , I am very weary when I go out anytime now in London. So my visits to China opened my eyes up completely. Lovely place and yes, so safe and the people are really honest and respectful. Such a breath of fresh air in all honesty. I did look into the criteria to move there, so I’ll invest in a property in an area I like and better start learning to speak Mandarin lol Hope your mother enjoys it there and has a ‘sigh of relief’ now feeling safe. China is also rising in sports but they focus less on physical contact type sports such as rugby, boxing, MMA,etc. Perhaps this is a reflection of their confucian heritage where war and violent fighting skills are not strived for. Freedom is being able to walk out anytime of the day or late evening, midnight hour and walk freely without being attacked, fear of being robbed, jumped. I have traveled over 80 countries and I can tell China is the best place to reside and travel, it's safe nowadays (CCTV everywhere, someone may argue it lacks of secrecy but I will say if you didn't misbehave, what to be afraid of?!). Food, transport, housing, clothes, shoes, smart phones, electronic devices, everything so so cheap! People friendly and nice especially to foreigners.
Every time I come back to Hong Kong from Mainland, I get 3 lb heavier 😢 and have to go through a two week diet to get to the original weight to prepare for the next trip 😂 .

For a person living in London, I purchased a stunning beach house on the Garden Route in Wilderness, I had an ‘Auntie’ and her family stay in the staff house on site, it was like a 3 acre compound , had tall walls, electrified fencing and ADT armed response security. Sold it after the riots in Plettenberg, bit of a wake up call and a bit blonde to home. I knew the level of crime in SA was on a different level compared to London. Nonetheless, London is getting really bad now too, as a man , I am very weary when I go out anytime now in London.
So my visits to China opened my eyes up completely. Lovely place and yes, so safe and the people are really honest and respectful. Such a breath of fresh air in all honesty.
I did look into the criteria to move there, so I’ll invest in a property in an area I like and better start learning to speak Mandarin lol
Hope your mother enjoys it there and has a ‘sigh of relief’ now feeling safe. If she eats too much, take her jogging at midnight lol…and pass a few food stalls…😂

China is also rising in sports but they focus less on physical contact type sports such as rugby, boxing, MMA,etc. Perhaps this is a reflection of their confucian heritage where war and violent fighting skills are not strived for. Even their martial arts tend to focus on the spiritual and self discipline side.
Not exactly, we have KONGFU culture also. Rugby is not popular, but boxing and MMA is getting more popular.

Freedom is being able to walk out anytime of the day or late evening, midnight hour and walk freely without being attacked, fear of being robbed, jumped.
Freedom is being able to say something bad intentionally or unintentionally without the fear of being stabbed, jumped, killed, someone pulling out a gun/knife on you
Freedom is being able to feel safe wherever you be, not having to avoid an intersection or town or group of people
Freedom is being able to leave your car running while you away for 2. seconds without someone driving off in your car
Freedom is being able to walk the streets wearing or using anything nice without being robbed
For most people who lived in the Land of the Free will not like what you say about China because they have not experience it in person and think this type of stuff don't exist in China because they never had that. And automatically assume you are paid by the CCP for making their country sound so nice. They hate China and hate Chinese people because what they see being protrayed in western media. Thats their only 'experience' of China and their perception of China. They still think China is a 3rd world country.
Remember the perception of how poor, lagging behind China was protrayed in the 1980s/1990s. 10 years of adavancement is a big change, now think 35 years of advancement and this is the China today. Tech advancement, 35 yrs of fast economic growth and where are they today. The country has caught up and now way ahead of many countries. Only people who have visited there will know and understand what you are saying, otherwise, it's the good old, 'who paid you to say that?'

A wise woman
I have traveled over 80 countries and I can tell China is the best place to reside and travel, it's safe nowadays (CCTV everywhere, someone may argue it lacks of secrecy but I will say if you didn't misbehave, what to be afraid of?!). Food, transport, housing, clothes, shoes, smart phones, electronic devices, everything so so cheap! People friendly and nice especially to foreigners.
Every time I come back to Hong Kong from Mainland, I get 3 lb heavier 😢 and have to go through a two week diet to get to the original weight to prepare for the next trip 😂 .
