    Fantastic video. If you ever get the wild hair and did this demo in a Fullscreen 16:9 Ratio where we could really see it would be so much better!

    This is a really good video if you want to skribble/ draw along (which is a pritty good execise) and i happely did so in this case, but sometimes i just want to get the information and moust importaint tips and trix espesially if im not feeling like drawin along a video thats ower an houre long can be quit tiering to watsh so maby consider also doing a short version with just the main ponts and or splitt the scrools and the leaves in to two separat videos!
    Cheers :)

      A new video is coming soon. I have been too busy with work to finish it. But yes I will be doing actual editing on the next to keep them under 30min or so. I made this video lengthy so I could explain the whole process. I actually prefer longer videos so that things can be explained well, especially if you're just learning. But I understand people dont always that so I'll be shortening them in the future.

    Excellent video. Very helpful to see the process including the mistakes and corrections as you go. I liked how you talked during the drawing giving insight on best practices and what you liked in the design as you were drawing the scrolls. I hope you continue doing scroll videos on the iPad Procreate. Really cool to see the advantages in both teaching and altering the artwork (copy and resize) to get a final design. Suggestions for additional videos, 1: I'd really like to see how you would fill a defined space with scroll work. Square, rectangular, oval shapes, etc. Also, if you had a focal piece within that defined shape such as a person's name or subject, ie. a bird or skull, and how you would surround that subject with scrollwork. 2: Maybe define best practices for overall flow? Is there a certain overall direction the scrollwork should move towards? How do I know when to use a S versus a C curve in a larger piece that has several scrolls? 3: When you have a large design, do you have a focal scroll? Meaning, do you use varying sizes of scrolls? Do you layout placement of the scrolls before hand?

      Robert Kerr looking forward to it. This was a much different type of video on this topic. I am a leather worker looking to improve at my leather carving for these kinds of things. Might want to add leather working as a tag to your video. Might grab you some more hits.

    Your talent is awesome but your pounding and tapping on the screen is so irritating I had to move on

    • @robertkerr4049
      @robertkerr4049  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry about that. Recorded directly on the ipad instead of a stand alone mic, so the pencil tapping is much louder than I would have liked as well.

      Robert Kerr no worries.... keep up the awesome drawing

    • @basildraws
      @basildraws 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My criticism isn’t the tapping but the screen real estate. Your screen capture is filling less than 1/3 of the total available space. Do yourself a favour and fill up the whole screen.
      Otherwise, great instruction. After wading through a hundred ‘time-lapse’ and ‘speed paint’ and other nonsense it was great to finally find an actual in-depth guide to breaking down the scrolls and leaves. Thank you.
