Small Rig also has a kit with a silicone case and a screen protector. It's about $40 US, and it doesn't interfere with the operation of your recording monitor in any way. I have both and use the both; the cage is needed to use the sun hood,
doesn't really protect much since its a hard surface it just transfers the impact into the glass. Also the joint where it connects to the battery is a weak point. dropping the Ninja is more likely to break the batter away from the dock. The cage does reinforce that joint at all. Better off 3d printing a hard rubber case much like a phone case, for protection purposes its definitely more useful. Though I suppose this does help with attaching accessories to the thing.
heading to pickup my cage for my monitor now. Its got some dings but i'm happy to give it the finish it deserves. I wonder how well the sunhood works. Im going to go for it and give it a review.
I'm very worried that the battery might still scratch if it rubs against a rough surface. Ideally, I'd also like to see a cover of some sort to protect the surface of the cage.
Nice video, however, it's NINJA 5 not "V" the "V" is their Roman numeral they decided to use. I know many people are confused, but that's ATOMOS who made the decision.
The problem with reviews like this, you state your not sponsored by Smallrig but then go on to say they sent it to you for nothing, if that's not a company sponsoring then I don't know what is. Also when vlogers do reviews on gear they get for nothing they are never going to slate it, especially as they will want to get future gear for free, which I think can be very misleading to prospective buyers who have to spend their hard earned cash based on these reviews. I know that if a company are going to send me one of their products for free then I'm very unlikely going to slag it off, and if it was crap, then I wouldn't be telling the world I had got it for free. Just don't tell people your not sponsored and then in the next breath say they sent it for nothing especially after you also said you contacted them first, which again seems strange as their website shows what they have, no real need to ask, unless your motive was to get it for nothing.
Lol if the product did not work or had faults I would have said so in fact Smallrig asked nothing of me for this review. I was up front about them sending it to me and I always tell the truth about products I use if you don’t believe that that is your problem
I don't see bad in most people but you seem to think that what you say is alwsys right and no one else can have a view, always seems that you laugh out loud at every constructive comment that gets posted if it's not to your liking, the reason I say what I say is if you think that the cage is as good as you say, why then don't you pay for it, your very quick in taking a freebie, and then saying that they haven't paid you, (the taxman would see it differently when it's something you use for business use), you just can't seem to accept any adverse comments.
Looks like it protects the sides of the Ninja V very well but you better hope you don't drop it face first on it's screen on a ground full of rocks. That's why the ultimate protection will always be...DON'T DROP IT! :)

And the problem with people like you is you always see the bad in things it’s very sad.
@@DavidOastler how can you say Smallrig asked nothing of you, you accepted a Smallrig cage for nothing, so basically they paid you.
