Thank you so much for uploading this wonderful rarity. Cziffra's Schumann is so magical and spontaneous. He also made a brilliant recording of Schumann's Toccata and poetic accounts of Fantasiestucke, Carnaval de Vienne and the Etudes Symphoniques.
I truly love his playfulness. He is so relaxed, as when practicing or rehearsing gently. Such a warm performance of the Carnaval though, also in his album
i know Im asking randomly but does anybody know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Raylan Ian thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Une pièce difficile s'il en est, à laquelle Georges Cziffra va donner, dans les années 70, son extraordinaire dimension pianistique . Merci pour ce document à sa mémoire.
I'm lovin' it, thank you! I wonder what the wrist band on his right arm for. And that mysterious number "2" at 6:17 is an almost annoying fairy like...:)
+ADGO Were it so prosaic. Cziffra was imprisoned both during WW2 and after it when trying to escape Soviet Hungary. The band was worn both as a support for ligaments torn while being tortured in prison, as well as a reminder of that time. To read his biography makes you all the more amazed at his accomplishments.
@@ADGO yes, Canon and flowers. It's his autobiography until around the 70s I think. Tough life he had. Thats why he was so humble, even if he was the greatest. Nowadays everybody seems arrogant...sad.
Thank you for this beautiful archive, ADGO. Do we know where this archive comes from? It seems to me that it comes from a French regional television? Thank you
@@ADGO Yes, that's more than likely ... I'll try to find out. But the room in which Cziffra rehearses is undoubtedly a provincial room and I am almost sure that it is a document from French regional television. How did you get your hands on it and publish it?
@@chaussonaph It was first shared by Meloclassic but they deleted their YT channel. Someone sent it to me so I uploaded it as other people wanted to hear it. As you can tell from my channel, this non-Russian material isn't my kind of thing.
Marvelous technique! I agree with some of his interpretations. Certainly individualistic! Unfortunately the piano is out of tune, especially in the upper range.
thank you so much for doing whatever you did, and making this available. watching him play is always such a joy for me.
So many magical moments here, but I think 6:13-6:27 is the very definition of majestic.

Let's not forget the first Sonata too
Un immense musicien ! Un EXEMPLE d’humanité et de courage.
Il a mérité de retrouver son fils et tous ceux qu’il avait aimés
Hands of iron and a heart of gold!
True. He is perfect in both technique and interpretation.
@@김현민-i6q what year was this recorded? 1960s?
@@pianosenzanima1 in early 1960s, i guess.
I just love Mr. Cziffra! Bravissimo, maestro!
Just magical playing...when are we going to hear something like that again?

Il jouait le Carnaval bien avant 1970, vous savez et son premier enregistrement date d'avril 1957. Il figurait souvent à ses programmes.
It was Cziffra, and the others.
TY

+itchy2345 the shy yet cheeky number 2 :) Cziffra was athletic -- perhaps it's a sweatband?

+harvardkarbodie Thanks for that. When you say his biography, do you mean Cannons and Flowers?

I didn't know he had such a turbulent life. Wikipedia gives the gist of it.

It seems to be around 1962.
