    The nostalgia from this is just so wonderful. Wish I could time machine back into those dates.

      I wouldn't want to go back in time. At least not this particular year.

    This was the year before going to high school. In 1996 I saw a computer for the first time, and it was DOS-based. I got my first computer in 1999, it ran Windows 98. Memories.

      I waited until the bugs (any) were fixed and bought it '96. It was fun! A Tandy 1000 RLX system, DOS 6.22, QBASIC, Desk Mate(a GUI), a monitor, keyboard, mouse, dot matrix printer, 20 mb hard disk drive(big at the time!), a 3 1/2" floppy disk. I loved Desk Mate!

    NT (3.51) user at the time, bought Win95 some time after the first buyers rush. It did the job for gaming and browsing the web...and all that other multimedia stuff(insert marketing buzzwords here).
    Nostalgic nonetheless. Feels like it was in a different life.

    This was such a unique moment in history where you'd have computer systems without internet.
    It was only a few short years (and yes, technically they existed at the same time but i'm talking mainstream...)
    It was the era where they shipped encyclopedias on CD-ROMS to get information on your computer. (Encarta 95 for example)
    We went through such a rapid change of technology in such a short period in human history

    Can I still download windows 95 and run it with 8GB ram?

    • @houstonhelicoptertours1006
      @houstonhelicoptertours1006 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Some sources say that Windows 95 will not properly boot on PCs with more than 480 MB. Keep in mind that 480 MB is a lot for 1995. No consumer machine at the time had that much RAM, only a few high-end workstations and these would run under Windows NT rather than W95.
