- The Memorial Van Damme Track & Field Meet is named after Belgian Olympic Athlete Ivo Van Damme who died tragically months after winning the Olympic Silver Medal in both the 800m and 1500m at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games. The first "Memorial" took place in 1977.
The Women's High Jump event featured nine athletes, eight of them were Tokyo 2020 Olympians, six of them Olympic Finalists, including the Olympic Podium: Olympic Gold Medalist Mariya Lasitskene (Russia, White Flag), Olympic Silver Medalist Nicola McDermott (Australia), and Olympic Bronze Medalist Yaroslava Mahuchikh (Ukraine).
Athletes competing under a White Flag are ANA, ie, Authorized Neutral Athletes.
