It was worth the wait to see this amazing underground tunnel system linking all the guns and the firing control bunker. What made it special was your wonderful story telling which brought the war activities to life. The boot prints in the dried concrete was a real treat. Thank you and stay safe. Regards to you all.
Im 26yrs old I’m crazy about world war 2 history in particular German perspective I’m subscribing to you u have a really sympathetic character hearing u in the videos u have my support
The boot prints in the concrete are a fantastic find. So many tunnels and positions! Of all the fortifications you've shown us, this is one of my favorites. Best wishes to you and my incredible grandchildren!❤️
Amazing place, saving the best for last. Those footprints in the concrete was just jaw dropping. Thank you and EE for your time. Can't wait for the next adventure.
P1 & P2 were intriguing enough, P3 didn't disappoint. So much action went down there. Couldn't believe how well constructed and laid out the German Military infrastructure was. It looks like there is even more to be discovered there. Thoroughly enjoyed, thank you HH & EE.
Nice ending to the series on this complex. The amount of work they did to build it, is mind boggling. Walking on the wet concrete every place I have been would be grounds for removal. Must have been important. The wood ring is curious, at first I thought of forms for the floor pour but they are thick and were poured in on both sides. Series was well done as always with great information. Stay safe and well.
yes pretty cool place and i loved the foot prints. The wood rings are strange indeed and there are so many details to see there. Thanks William and keep having a great summer time.
I noticed at 10:45 and again at 12:54 what appears to be a guy wire leading up above the Command Center. Is there possibly an antenna or something like that up there? That could explain the functioning lights being for service workers to find their way through the tunnels. Thank you so much for these wonderful videos you post. I watch them all! (PS, nice product placement at 13:40. If Olight is not paying you they should be!)
This is the only thing about Europe I'm jealous of, all the history and truly amazing things to see and experience. Think you for sharing with everyone in such a informative and entertaining way.
Certainly love all the adventures you share with us (as you know)my friend, but I can't help but look at the beauty looking out to the ocean. Then reality sets in and you show us how the war machine has spoiled so much of the landscape. I'm so glad you show us the good along with the indifferent role this beautiful land was used for. Be Safe and be Well....
I think the soldiers tracked up the concrete because they were trying to get someone in trouble. I noticed overhead lights. Thank you for this wonderful video.
Love it!!! You describe the place so good that I can imagine what happened there... Now it looks so much stillness, those days complete Chaos! Mixed feelings, nerves to full...
This episode was one of the most amazing because of the footprints of the Germans' boots!! Wow, looks like such a short time ago. Thank U one more time!
Great adventure. The footprints were a special find. On a cold night they must have froze as they stayed at their posts, duty came first. Thank you for sharing. Great viewing.
Your videos are a great source of interest to me. I only wish I could be there to explore those places with you. Thanks for doing this and posting the videos.
Wow! This was worth the wait WW2HH! A fantastic location among the many you take us to. I know I speak for many when I say thank you for inviting us along. What a wonderful experience for young EE these trips must be for him. Can’t wait for the next adventure. Cheers from Australia!
Those bunkers are so cool. But I think the footprints in the concrete is my fav part. It gives everything such a personal touch. Cause sometimes we forget that there was soldiers here and to have the footprints there really makes it hit home.
So wholesome, I wish I had the time to explore with my family. We all love watching and maybe when the world has calmed down, we can finally get out to some of the monuments of our history. Keep it up History Hunters 👍😉
Some amazing locations. The view is spectacular. The boot prints frozen in time were a really cool discovery. Thanks for your hard work. Always looking forward to the next adventure.
AWESOME!!! Love the intricate details, tunnels and the boot imprints. How neat was that?? I agree with you on why did they step on it when it wasn't dry lol. I also noticed lights on in the area of the fire control area plus boards on the floor. Very interesting and great views too! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see what lies ahead
Very interesting to see the boot prints left behind. Would definitely like to know more about why they walked in the wet concrete. Amazing views as well. Stay safe!
A Always enjoy your videos by Yourself and your daughter 👍 5:45 Perhaps they made it out of wood to stop sparks from shrapnel igniting the ammo storage !
Now that is one absolutely amazing gun position. The wood around that first gun pit is probably the original bracing/formwork for the concrete base, then they just added the ammo pockets etc without removing it. Love the footprints in the concrete. It probably didn't set because of dampness in the rock base. Can imagine a few "soldaten" being ripped into for having messed up the floor, and getting concrete on their boots :) And what a view from the Firing Control Bunker. Can see why they sited that complex right there. Another brilliant video from a brilliant team of History Hunters. Thank you both for bring this to us! Cheers!
You were right, part 3 is special, an amazing complex, so lucky to be able to see it, thank you. Just a thought on the wood surrounding the gun platform, it could have been what was used to set out the shape of the platform, and once the concrete has dried, you cannot get it out, so it becomes a low wooden wall???? just a thought. Thank you
Simply stunning ocean views. Takes one's breath away. Couldn't think of a more fitting/effective position for the Germans to erect an extensive system of fortifications & coastal defenses. Yes, the German soldiers footprints encased in the cement were quite a find and to be able to place your own boot in one of those prints HH- history. I am thinking the German soldiers had no choice but to jump into action/position and there wasn't time for the cement to set. War waits for no one. Well constructed steps going up to the Firing Control Bunker -again what a view. Definitely, a good thing you had your trusty Olight flashlights 🔦 😉. Final ocean view was spectacular, thanks for sharing. Continue to stay safe you 2.
That could very well be the fact why the footprints are like they are. Good thing we have imagination on our side for such :) Thanks Laura and greetings from us.
Great video. Have always enjoyed them. You were asking why they were walking on unset conrete. Perhaps footprints due to retreating soldiers having to go below ground from incoming planes and bombardment before the concrete had a chance to set. You may very well have discovered a record of forced battle movement.

H.H. , you mentioned storms and winter. It would be interesting to see your and e.e's experience on video during one of those events. How do you find those places, your a lucky dog !
We have some pretty neat stuff here on the west coast of California. There’s a lot of former missile interception sites/bunkers, cannon mounts that could fire 30mi to sea, etc… just gotta know where to look. I’d LOVE to explore Europe for sites like this I just don’t wanna die by landmine or boobytrap 😂
The soldiers that served here had to get tired going up and down these stairs everyday. Depending on when they poured the concrete, I wonder if the weather was bad and not allowing the concrete to dry quickly? No matter what happened it was interesting as well as historical to see the boot prints in the concrete. It seems to me it took more work and materials to build these coastal defense areas than others that were more inland.
@@WW2HistoryHunter Astonishing the level of sophistication by the Germans. Both in technological and infrastructure variants. What, if any, is your opinion of the true demise of the third Reich? I wonder while constructing the bunkers, they were put into use before they were finished. Something happened to make the soldiers use the bunkers before the concrete was set. We may never know unless you run into someone who was there. Enjoyed these massive bunkers and tunnels.
I may have missed it but where exactly was this? Pas de Calais or Normandy? If Calais, it probably didn’t see much immediate action, but if Normandy, the soldiers staying there woke up the morning of June 6/7 to a “Sea of Metal” as described by WWII historians! Altho big guns like the ones that were there were a formidable defense, Allied air power was all over them plus naval gunnery from allied battleships, heavy cruisers and such firing 14-16” 2700 Lb high explosive and armor penetrating rounds into these bunkers would have ruined the soldiers day. Did you see many signs of battle damage? Am very jealous…would love to go see and explore these historic sites some day! Thanks for posting.
