- As the new Tom Hanks film, Sully, arrives in theaters Friday, the children of "The Miracle on the Hudson," are thanking Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger. In January 2009, he landed his U.S. Airways plane with 35 passengers in the Hudson River in an event known as "Miracle on the Hudson". The flight was traveling from New York's LaGuardia Airport to Charlotte Douglas International Airport when it flew into a gaggle of geese, causing both engines to fail. #InsideEdition

In another documentary,that "Mom" who survived was so grateful for surviving that she and her husband decided to adopt a child. Not sure if it was that same adopted kid :) The Mom was Lori Lightner (not sure about the spelling)_
Every time I see the thankful passengers, my eyes fill with tears. I can't help it.

Sully is a hero in every aspect. Not just bringing the plane down savely in an unbelievable skilled airmanship and then thinking "ok guys, I brought you down and now everybody for him/herself. That's obviously not Sullys way. He is the last one to abandon the ship. That shows what he's made of.

I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE. I AM SO PROUD OF SULLY AND CREW AND PASSENGERS. MY FATHER WAS KILLED IN A PLANE CRASH AND MY 20 YEAR OLD SON PASSED AWAY SUDDENLY 7 DAYS AFTER THIS HAPPENED AND IT MAKES ME HAPPY TO KNOW THAT HE SAW A TRUE HERO BEFORE HE DIED. GOD BLESS

I hope they got free tickets to the show. I saw it when the movie came out in theaters. It was very well portrayed. Even tho I don't know EXACTLY what happened that day. But I do remember hearing it on the news. I was about 9 when I heard all the news outlets talking about it

There was MORE than one hero that day. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger was not at all the only one. Why ONLY thank him? Yes, he did an amazing job for sure but NOT just him deserves recognition. 😵💫

Praise God Almighty..That was so beautiful to watch. I am an American and times like this bring people together. These people didn't even know each other, but this brought them all together and now they have a love and friendship of sorts. I use to fly quite a bit when I was younger, but now I'm afraid to fly. God bless everyone.
Where was "God Almighty" when the engines were destroyed? Praise the skills captain Sully had aquired through his years as a pilot and not an unproven entity.
