  • Dive into the soulful depths of "The J.J. Band" and embark on a musical journey through the vibrant soundscape of 1970s Belgium. Led by the visionary minds of Ralph Benatar, Douglas Lucas, and Francis Weyer, this eclectic ensemble weaves together a tapestry of jazz, funk, and rock, creating a sonic experience unlike any other.
Originating from the ashes of the popular soul-pop outfit "Jess & James," the J.J. Band emerged as a force to be reckoned with in the Belgian music scene. With a lineup boasting top-tier talent like Garcia Morales, Stanley Willis, and Marcel "Toto" Poznantek, the band's self-titled debut album showcases their boundless creativity and musical prowess.
From the infectious grooves of "Love In Them There Hills" to the haunting melodies of "Norwegian Wood," each track on this album exudes a sense of soulful sophistication, blending intricate arrangements with raw emotion. The band's seamless fusion of jazz and funk creates a dynamic sonic landscape that is both captivating and deeply immersive.
But "The J.J. Band" is more than just a collection of songs-it's a testament to the power of musical innovation and artistic expression. With its bold experimentation and fearless creativity, this album pushes the boundaries of traditional genre conventions, paving the way for a new era of soul-infused jazz-rock.
So sit back, relax, and let the intoxicating sounds of "The J.J. Band" wash over you. Whether you're a seasoned jazz aficionado or a casual music lover, this album is sure to leave a lasting impression. Don't miss your chance to experience the magic of J.J. Band-it's a musical journey you won't soon forget.

I bought this LP in 1976 at a ridiculous price,
and today it continues to occupy a special position
among other greats of that time,
    like
    Mark-Almond's "To the heart",
Blood Sweat and Tears' "More than ever",
    Chicago "X",
    Santana's "Amigos",
    Doobie Bross'"Takin'it to the streets",
    Soft Machine's "Softs",
    Steely Dan's "Royal Scam",
    Crusaders' "Free as the wind",
    Gato Barbieri's "Caliente!",
    Larry Coryell's "Aspects",
    Jean-Luc Ponty's "Imaginary Voyage"
    and many others🎷🎸🎺🎻🪕

70s was an absolutely incredible decade full of talented creative music artists started in the late 60s and ended up slowly drowning along the 80s (approx)
