    Agree, terrible to no instructions come with these units. I got the 10 Qt model and used it the first time tonight. I didn’t use a compressor, just hand pump.
    Everything was going great, about 2/3’s full, and it just stopped.
    I went to give it a couple more pumps, and oil shot out of one of the ports below the handle coating my garage floor nicely.
    I could not figure what was going on. It was not full.
    I emptied it out and tried again. It started back up but I was still getting some fluid discharge from that port every now and then. I just held a rag there while I finished up.
    I’ll call the company tomorrow and see what’s going on, but if you want customers to be happy with a product, write a freaking instruction manual.

    Great video and thanks for your comments about oil extraction vs drain plug. I have a drain plug that is rusted onto my oil pan so the only way I can change oil is by this extractor.

    The manual pump only requires about 6-8 quick pumps then it creates a vacuum to remove all the oil.

      Mine seems to need a good 5-10 pumps every 15 seconds or so

    Good video. Thanks for sharing. The manual definitely sucks!
    Should you crack open the oil fill cap when extracting the oil or leave it closed?

      The manual works like a charm, 6-8 pumps and it flows with ease. Did it on a 2017 Audi Q3, had no problems, and removed virtually all the oil.

    Still don't understand how to put the hose on the top. You just leave the cap on and then push the hose through it letting the o-ring be the only thing that supports it

    • @OneAsterick
      @OneAsterick ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yep. The threaded cap/collar is to help remove the main suction hose.

    Do you use this extractor for any other fluid besides engine oil? If so, how do you clean inside the hoses and extractor itself? I was thinking of using it to extract both engine oil and transmission fluid but definitely don't want to cross-contaminate the different fluids in my engine.

    • @bill9912
      @bill9912 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Somehow I get the impression that it will take about as long to clean the inside of the extractor and extractor hoses as it will to extract the fluid from the car.

    I bought this thing. I was able to change my power steering fluid using tje smaller tube. It did NOT work with engine oil. The thinner and longer tube did not work. I tried it on 3 different cars but failed. So i had to jack the car and use the old method. What was i doing wrong?

    Never do this to change oil, been proven that most material in the oil will sink and this will not get it all out, which will lead to overtime possible engine failure due to high metals and not draining the oil 100%

    • @BlairWitkowski
      @BlairWitkowski ปีที่แล้ว +9

      100% not true. In some cases there is no other way to drain oil from some engines like a chipper or other small cycle. I woofed in a high end German shop for a long time and saw many, many super high mileage BMW and Mercedes that never had the drain plug used. At first I was totally against sucking the oil out, but after seeing the convenience and that there is no harm, I am a convert. If you saw the whole video you would know I have a drain plug issue and this is the only option right now.

    • @jayfatler1352
      @jayfatler1352 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You do know cars have oil filters right? The filters, well, filter material before it gets to your engine. Also. If you have heavy enough material at the bottom of your oil pan that doesn’t become suspended due to running the engine then you’ve got bigger worries than just an oil change.
      I honestly don’t understand how people think.
