I believe you mis-spoke about the prices of the outfits. You said the lower price was per piece but the lower price is for 3 recolors of the outfit, the higher price is for 9 recolors of the outfit, and it works that way for most of the outfits with varying amounts. The coins don't align with the price of the outfits. So people are tricked into spending more than they would normally, and then they have leftover coins they can't buy anything with so they keep buying more and the cycle continues (you might have said this but I'm still watching your video). Great video btw.
Ah, well that's SLIGHTLY better.... I stand corrected if that's the case, odd way to present it though. Still, all things being relative... "better" doesn't mean "good"
If anything my biggest disappointment is the price itself for the cosmetics. When did $20+ become the standard for cosmetic prices? Its unreasonable imo. I would be much more inclined to spend $20 to buy 4 items priced at $5, but I see a cosmetic for $20 and its an immediate no from me
Is a free to play game, i know is not fair but at least they have the decency to not make this a p2w garbage. They need to get money from somewhere anyway.
The currency thing and the bundles are pretty bad, but WHAT ARE THOSE PRICES? When I can buy four of the main characters, plus emotes, plus weapons, plus gliders, plus artwork from a popular anime series such as Dragon Ball in Fortnite (which is also a sleazy game in very similar ways) for about the price of one piece of a set in Palia, that really proves just how overpriced this is.
Update: I found an outfits and cosmetics tab under the game feedback in the Discord. When something like this happens and goes so far against the philosophy the game was built upon, making the problem clear is important. The message I typed there is as follows: "Some notes about the monetization of the clothing that I'm sure many have already talked about: Whether or not it's intentional, the devs have gone back on their statement that "We don’t want to monetize through tricks." This is done through premium currencies that always have you rounding up to the next number and are unclear about how much it actually is once you're in the store. An easy fix to this would either be just allowing people to pay outright, or if there is a reason to do a premium currency such as conversion rates or whatever, provide more options for purchasing and include the estimated actual price in local currency alongside the item. For example, let's say there's an item that cost 425 Palia coins. In the shop it could say something like "Item Name, 425 coins ($4.99 USD)". Another manipulative tactic is the bundles of items. This preys on people who are indecisive. Basically if someone wants one item from a set, and is thinking about maybe at some point getting one other item, they're manipulated into paying outright for the whole set due to the "deal" they're getting. Outside of these manipulative tricks, the price of the items are on the high side. Some of the sets have one item at roughly the same price as some other games have entire sets for multiple characters (for example, the Dragon Ball bundle for Fortnite including Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, Beerus, and some other items is about as expensive as one item in the Soothsayer or Sky Captain set). This is a lot of money to ask for and even worse, going back to the previous points, some of these seem intentionally priced to get more money from you. As an example, the Soothsayer set is 2550 per piece of the set. For $20 USD, you get 2050 (not enough), for $25 USD you get 2475 (not enough to buy it still) for $30 USD you get 3050, and for $35 USD you get 3650, which manipulates the customer into making the larger transaction of $35 for the "just a little bit more" deal and the convenience of doing one transaction as opposed to two. I get that this is just cosmetics, but if you want to get into expressing your character using these at all, the game seems to try to get as much money from you as possible through manipulative tactics."
Maybe just maybe if no one fell for this trap and not buy these things they will rethink the monetization.. but that will never happen because there always someone who's willing to buy this.
I've spent too much money on Sky: Children of the Light, but at least their in app purchases are priced transparently. You directly buy the specific item that you want. Palia should have done that.
Oh, I forgot Sky also does the bonus things with candles, but you can earn candles in the game. So I've never bought candles. At least it's a better monetization method than Palia. I'm really disappointed because I was excited about this game. I'll probably still play it, but I'm not spending any money on it.
FFXIV allows you to buy the EXACT amount of crysta (if you go the Crysta route) you need for any item. Proof that it is possible to do this and not be sleezy. I'll poke around Palia but I won't be spending a single dime until they correct their ways.
The fact that there are zero clothes to craft yourself and the ones you can buy are overpriced as hell is such an insult. I was already afraid that this would be the case, but I kept hoping to the end they wouldn't be THIS scummy. A real shame, too. I got into Closed Beta and the game is super fun. If the prices were more reasonable I was going to buy some to support them, but not like this.
When are f2p game developers ever honest? When they said the cash shop was going to focus on costumes I knew it was going to be overpriced, but these prices are ridiculous.
I knew this is going to happen, Idk why people are so gullible, like come on, it's a free game and you can read the lies from their faces when they made that live, that girl was force smiling the whole time :)).
Dang those store prices are ridiculous! Having to buy a digital "gift card" to this Palia store (that can't fully be spent) just to get digital clothing for your avatar that has prices similar to if you were to go to a REAL store and buy a REAL hat/shirt/outfit etc. I get that a free to play game needs to sell cosmetics to recoup costs (I've bought stuff in other games that I too feel deserving) but I cannot imagine how ignorant/desperate one must be to pay these borderline extortionist rates.
Well this is a bummer. Couldnt tell you how many Nos i had to say and explaining so my kid would stop asking for robux. Yet 30 for a shirt suddenly makes Roblox look better
I dont trust the monetization in this game. Making it free isnt a fair excuse. NOT being honest about what we need to spend upfront is sleazy. Plus they could have offered at least some in game cosmetics, other free 2 play games give us more for less. Not interested. Will anti recommend this until they become more ethical.
With the new updatw we now have pets locked behind buying palia coins. No way atm to earn in game. Yet another way to "motivate" in to spending. Yep....no tricks here.
Hey at least there is no founders packs trying to get Switch owners to grab their parents wallets, i hate all cash shops at this point because of just how predatory a lot of the are. I was looking forward to playing this although it's only on Switch console wise, may try it on PC but honestly i wanted and hope they release a PS5 version one day if the game lives long enough.
Definitely scummy, sleazy even, to obfuscate pricing like this. Worth noting the "per piece" pricing is for one full set of the costume, each costume has 3 alternative patterns with color palettes unique to each, the bundle is to purchase all three options. The patterns are particularly noticeable on the hooded pajamas(Chapaajama), you can see there's the dotted one, a plain one, and a striped one, that would be the 3 options you would have to purchase individually, with the bundle netting you all 3. Also worth noting, you mentioned dying, all colorways of clothing can be adjusted from available options at any time at a dresser, closet, or in town dressing room. Some will give this a pass as it is the only real money interaction in the game, but this game has no reason, in it's current form to not just offer the costumes as a direct purchase for real money, the obfuscation added with their "Palia coin" does nothing to earn them goodwill, which they have not yet earned from the larger gaming community yet.
Aside from the sleaziness of the situation, 30 dollars is way too much for imaginary clothes...I would never be able to justify for myself to buy something like that for that amount of money and I have bought imaginary clothes before for different games.
I've come to accept the fact that all f2p games are going to have some form of sleazy monetization. It's sad to see that this just common practice and you either accept it or stop playing games because there's pretty much no avoiding it now, it's even games we have to pay full price for. But I'm with you on this, if the Palia Devs had just been forthright with their plans for monetization then I would have no issue with this. I'm all for helping to support a game I enjoy playing but I'm not going to bother if you're going to be dishonest with your player base.
We allowed it to happen And I have to admit I've contributed to this practice over the years and I hate myself for it so much. I was addicted and didn't know any better at all... Blowing money on stupid in game shit.
I was excited to play but as soon as I heard the words monetization I know I won't be playing now. There are tons of other games out there. To be blunt...people just need to learn self control and will power. Stop giving these kinds of practices an inch because they always end up running miles with it.
I hope they at least keep the other crap out of the cash shop to keep it cosmetic. It is a shame that they do the whole in-game currency packages just like the rest despite what they said.
Well, it won't change because plenty of beta testers have already spent their money on the stuff. Sucks but that just tells the devs there's no reason to adjust the prices.
I got to play the close beta and i dont get the hype for this game. 😅 seems on par with disney dreamlight valley and there cash shop. Probably not going to continue playing palia and just wait for fae farm next month.
I think the biggest scummy thing about it is the fact that they offer the ability to buy Palia coins for like £5 to give you coins that you can do nothing with, as you have to spend like £17 to get 1 outfit, If your cheapest item to buy is £17 then make that your lowest top-up value, why let someone top up by £5 to then not be able to spend anything with that, thus making you do this again to buy more just to be able to buy the thing you want. I love supporting Dev's and I've got no problems with there being a cash shop for cosmetics in games (as long as it is cosmetic and not pay to win) but not for the value that these sets are as i just don't think it's worth £30 for an outfit. if outfits were £5-10 per object i'd likely end up buying a bunch of them over time, likely buying something on a monthly basis, as it is as much as I've been loving Palia, I won't be spending anything on it's store at the moment.
I really don't feel like they needed to do this with this game. I feel like people would have been happy to go in and spend $10 to $30 dollars monthly.
Indeed, as I mentioned in this video, Before this discovery I had already 'budgeted' $30 to spend on day one, just as a "cheers Devs" thing.... but yeah... rethinking THAT plan with this new context.
Most people, myself included can’t afford to pay $30 a month. So if I get to enjoy the huge amount of cool free stuff until I have enough to treat myself to an outfit or two in-game then that's awesome. It's awesome that you think everyone is in the same boat as you in terms of budget but sadly we aren't. Just friendly advice not yelling by the way 🙂
@@BluntyTVI couldn't agree more with this sentiment. I don't mind chipping a little bit to a game that I have genuinely enjoyed. Just don't insult me with scummy tactics like the coin packages.
I will still be playing it because I've really wanted something like this for a long time. Best of both worlds for a farming gamer & Simmer that is socially awkward. At least being in the lower financial bracket for most of my life has prepared me for being satisfied with what I can get for what I have without spending excess, lol. Definitely won't worry about getting any of the outfits. Thank you so much for the break down. It was actually super helpful in deciding how I will approach the game. eyes wide open for starters. Have a wonderful day!🥰🌺🌸.
I looked into the shop, saw the prices and instantly closed it again. 😂 But it's not just Palia. A lot of F2P games have items that are expensive (some more than others), at least it's not P2W (yet), so I'm not concerned. I don't think the clothes are worth their money. Only sad thing is that a lot of games push their prices (same as Palia). :/ While I played MMOs where I got a full clothing set + weapon skin for 20 (and you could easily spend every coin you bought), I also know games that require 30 per month/character to play somewhat effeciently because of stat boosts, not to mention that upgrading your weapon easily could cost 100 or more (and you NEED this stuff - at the start it wasn't even tradeable, so you had to buy it from the shop or have hopes someone will sell one and a lot of gold - what also wasn't as great soon after as some bugusers increased prices endlessly with their infinite money). So yea.. I'm not really concerned about some clothing I don't even need. 😊
Holy that's a lot of money, I was planning on playing and maybe putting videos up. I'm definitely not buying coins with my money. I'll need to make sure to let people know how bad the money grabbing is.
Hi Blunty, I think there's an error in this video. Its not per item of a set. So for the Soothslayer, its 2,500 coins per 1 set, or if you wanted to own all variations, you can buy them all at 5100 coins. So the antler hat is not $30 USD/45AUD.
I was super excited about Palia, but the community thing made me worry about how really "cozy" the game will actually be... even if I'm not interested in any paid content, it's worrying when devs say different things and do the opposite.
The thing with the unequal amounts of coins and the like is so standard in those games that i neither wonder nor care. But the prices are a bad joke and the in a game like this no dye-system is done (at least for non-shop clothes) is pure laziness. Then again, they seem to only take credit card as payment method so they don't get/want money from me anyway. I don't need a card in my country for a living and i won't get one for games, if there's no paypal i am out.
I can't wrap my mind over paying for mere cosmetics. Unless they actually boost some sort of skill . But...if your gonna spend money on cosmetics, buy some real life new clothes you slobs. Lol.
I hopped on sea of thieves to compare their cash shop to this, as it sounded somewhat similar. Turns out they are not that similar at all. Sea of thieves is waaay less predatory. For example, you can toggle currency and pay in real money, not coins. The coin currnecy is also not as bad, for example, the battle pass (cosmetics only) is 999 coins, and you can buy a pack of 1000 coins. Imo Palia could learn alot from this cash shop and stop insulting players. They have a good product and dont need to do this.
Luckily the clothing cosmetics are super ugly so I don’t feel the need to buy anything 😂😂 hopefully they add cute items and more hairs we can buy or something
If this is what they're doing now, it'll probably get worse over the years till it kills the game, ands that's really sad. I had high hopes for this game.
The main thing is to keep gameplay items out of it. It sounds similar to sea of thieves cash shop which doesn't impact the game too much. They just need to stop the package coins that are never the number you need. It just makes the game feel more scummy.
Wow. Damn. I was hoping to purchase some of those cosmetics too. How hard would it have been to just have it at $1 US = 100 Palia Coins and to let us buy our own amounts of coins? That can't be difficult AND the community would have loved it! Their profits would have been insane if they just went that route. Man, that's sleazy (+1!) And disappointing
I got invited on the first wave and have been playing off and on all day, the whole cash shop thing doesn't bug me, I might buy an outfit eventually but I'm not planning on it currently
yah, this is a big yikes on their pricing tactics. I mean they shoul've done better way better. I mean I don't usually spend a dime on mmo's unless they have animal companions that add different stats etc once in a great while. After hearing there using this horrible tactic. Wont be spending a dime. Also to spend double on bundls triple yikes. I'm also not a fan if your wanting to buy stuff at the shop they will somewhat force ya to buy more coins nonsense. Looks like a real fun game to relax into as well. Such a shame. I still might give it a go without buying anything. Will just wait it out for now. Hopefully they redee themselves down the road after the beta with the feedback. Will be crossing my fingers n toes for this . Thanks for these videos blunty. Defently gonna rewatch this video later to count the sleezeys being said.
I’ve recently been diagnosed with ADHD and your videos have been so incredibly helpful to me, thank you 🙏🏻 I’m more of a retro gamer but I was intrigued by this game as it seemed to be neuro-diversity friendly and wouldn’t trigger my addictive personality… oh well 🤷🏼♂️
I am shocked! Shocked! Well, not that shocked. As someone else stated, I've come to accept that F2P games are just gonna have some form of sleazy monetization. I played the closed beta, and decided I am not really that invested in the game as I wanted to be.
Like and comment for algorithm purposes..... prefer a newsboy overall, student cap is also a standby for me. As far as the rest is concerned, I have to say I haven't trusted any company to properly monetize since the Lindens lied to our faces about what they were going to do in SecondLife and basically..... used a monetization scheme that made everything...... pretty boring. Everything's great until the suits take over, huh?
But, but, but..they said they don't "want" to monetize through tricks. Clearly they have been "forced" to do that. So they must be getting dragged to their bank kicking and screaming along the way... Will no one have a care for the greed?
Are there any MMOs that don't monetize like this? I think WoW didn't back when I played that but it could have changed. All the others I have played certainly have. Maybe I'll just play Baldur's Gate 3 which comes out later today
FFXIV has no premium currency in their external cosmetic store, you get the real life money value for the cosmetic. Take that with a grain of salt too since its for a subscription bases mmo
I think you may have gotten the meaning of Each/Bundle a bit wrong. Each mean one SET of cosmetic out of 3 in the bundle, not just the hat or the body. I watched a streamer bought one set for the price of "each". Mean each set of outfit cost over $10~20 Just helping with your info :D Now, about the price, yes, it is so very very sleazy. The stupid "Oh you can buy 1000 currency but the pack cost 1275" yeah that is a bad taste for me
Yeah someone else has mentioned that a little bit back here... and my reply' "Ah, well that's SLIGHTLY better.... I stand corrected if that's the case, odd way to present it though. Still, all things being relative... "better" doesn't mean "good""
@@BluntyTV I have nothing against you in this, this stupid currency bundle and price for each you can buy feel so sleazy compare to "relax" and "stress free" as they claim. Not good, not good
Maybe Im used to it, but the monetization doesnt seem sleezy to me. The prices seem transparent, the prices seem fair for a free game, and for the content seems worth the OPTIONAL transactions. The only thing that I find frustrating is the lack of dye system. I could see the micro transactions being malicious for children but I feel that way for most games. What would make me upset would be the developers creating problems to sell solutions. Example: Pokemon Go Inventory being small and selling storage space.
Its designed to not be transparent. That's the whole point of giving you more coins then you need. It hides the true value and make you want to buy more
I wanted to comment about what I ate for breakfast today, but then I remembered, I technically didn't have breakfast today! So thank you, blunty, I remembered I still have breakfast. So it's time for second breakfast.
We need to boycott this cash shop...this is absolutely egregious. 90 fucking dollars for a set of imaginary clothing?! Who do they think they are?! Make the game $39.99, and drop the prices down to 5$ per clothing item, and it'd be much more bearable.
I agree that they’re too expensive, but just fyi there was a misconception in this video. A “bundle” isn’t a full set of clothes, it’s all three color variants of that set. The “each” price is for a full set. Still a little pricey to me though
I just started playing today and its fun. I agree with you but as I don't intend on spending anything just like I did with Pokémon go these scams don't affect me any. Once that starts bleeding into the gameplay I'll be done with this game.
I have been playing Palia for two or three weeks now, and I really like it. That is, apart from the "premium" shop. While I applaud that the real-money stuff (so far) is only cosmetics, the prices made my jaw drop. It's just indecent. When I play a free-to-play game, I'm not opposed to spending some money, but at these prices I just don't on principle. If things maybe cost about five Euros, I will buy something I like once in a while, maybe even for ten. And in the end, they'd make more money (at least from me) than charging these prices which makes me buy nothing because it disgusts me. I feel those tactics are praying on younger people, anyone with impulse control issues and in general everybody who doesn't calculate the real cost. Hurrah sleazy capitalism. Edit: typo
The only people I’ve seen do decent monetization is riots legends of runeterra card game you earn all cards through grinding for weekly rewards that allow you to craft the cards you want and you earn packs as well that give you random with duplicate protection added as well so you never get past three copies of each card and they only charge for cosmetic items and they have a quarterly battle pass so your not constantly buying a battle pass every month or so
Disney Dreamlight Valley same thing but now they have dream snap to earn more moonstones and you get 50 moonstones daily in blue chest maybe palia need do the same thing
I never buy cosmetics in any my games i play so this doesnt bother me at all. I play diablo 4 and its the same thing. If no one bought these, maybe these companies wouldnt use these monetization methods.. people need to stop putting their money into these things... companies use these because people are still willing to buy them, making them alot of money, which is why they use it.
Not playing the game, just heard of their way for monetization from some people and thats why im here and commenting so more people see this great video. Not cool what the devs do. Just looked up the currency, its almost the same way how Valorant converts his currency, with the only difference beeing that for 4,99$ you get 475 currency (in valorant) and not just 425 like in palia. Im playing a game with micros myself and there its at least like around 100 ingame currency is like 1 buck irl, so they made it a bit clearer how many real money some skins would cost and not so confusing like palia did. Also i thought "bundle" on the pictures would mean, all three complete sets, thats what it looks like to me, which makes it even more confusing at first glance imo.
I believe you mis-spoke about the prices of the outfits. You said the lower price was per piece but the lower price is for 3 recolors of the outfit, the higher price is for 9 recolors of the outfit, and it works that way for most of the outfits with varying amounts.

Same as most games to be fare. Only difference is this games free to play.
Yeah but the prices are way out of line compared to most other ftp games.
For cosmetics... so what if someone looks cooler than you. You can be way more efficient than them and look like a pleb. Looks arent everything.
I mean a clothing kit (with tons of outfits) in Sims 4 is what $5?
The new outfit is 50$ for a skin...its ridiculous.

Yeah, Came as a bit of a shock. Guess they're hard targeting "whalers" more than normal users.

Standard free to play monetization, obscure the real world cost of items. Even with that, these prices make Overwatch 2 look awesome and that is bad.

Besides the typical "bundle discount" thing, what are these prices? Seems insane.
That's how f2p games are, this is normal pricing now - look at how expensive some valorant cosmetics if you want to be really surprised
Aside from the sleaziness of the situation, 30 dollars is way too much for imaginary clothes...I would never be able to justify for myself to buy something like that for that amount of money and I have bought imaginary clothes before for different games.
Yeah prices of the cosmetics turned me right off this game.
Blowing money on stupid in game shit.
have you heard of path of exile?completly free, zero sleazy monetization and p2w elements, unless you consider extra bank slots as p2w
I was excited to play but as soon as I heard the words monetization I know I won't be playing now. There are tons of other games out there. To be blunt...people just need to learn self control and will power. Stop giving these kinds of practices an inch because they always end up running miles with it.
just stupid high prices for 1 cosmetic i would spend way more if prices probably would be lower
Boils down to which is worst: "Villains who don't comment on being the bad guys knowing they are? Or Villains who claim to be good guys?"
couldnt agree more. in game currency always has been, always will be manipulative & rapacious
I will not be buying *any* cosmetics in this game.
I will
I got to play the close beta and i dont get the hype for this game. 😅 seems on par with disney dreamlight valley and there cash shop. Probably not going to continue playing palia and just wait for fae farm next month.
I think the biggest scummy thing about it is the fact that they offer the ability to buy Palia coins for like £5 to give you coins that you can do nothing with, as you have to spend like £17 to get 1 outfit,
If your cheapest item to buy is £17 then make that your lowest top-up value,
why let someone top up by £5 to then not be able to spend anything with that, thus making you do this again to buy more just to be able to buy the thing you want.
Just friendly advice not yelling by the way 🙂
This method makes them more money, they didn't make it F2P out of the kindness of their corporation hearts. F2P games bring in more money over time.
@@BluntyTVI couldn't agree more with this sentiment. I don't mind chipping a little bit to a game that I have genuinely enjoyed. Just don't insult me with scummy tactics like the coin packages.
I just want them to fix the repair mechanic for tools...its horrible. Also yes they are doing bad and horrible prices
At first I thought this was just going to be a crying rant. But I listened on and am now more then a tad upset with the devs. Thank you for this info.
But it's not just Palia. A lot of F2P games have items that are expensive (some more than others), at least it's not P2W (yet), so I'm not concerned. I don't think the clothes are worth their money. Only sad thing is that a lot of games push their prices (same as Palia). :/
While I played MMOs where I got a full clothing set + weapon skin for 20 (and you could easily spend every coin you bought), I also know games that require 30 per month/character to play somewhat effeciently because of stat boosts, not to mention that upgrading your weapon easily could cost 100 or more (and you NEED this stuff - at the start it wasn't even tradeable, so you had to buy it from the shop or have hopes someone will sell one and a lot of gold - what also wasn't as great soon after as some bugusers increased prices endlessly with their infinite money).
So yea.. I'm not really concerned about some clothing I don't even need. 😊
Holy that's a lot of money, I was planning on playing and maybe putting videos up. I'm definitely not buying coins with my money. I'll need to make sure to let people know how bad the money grabbing is.
Hi Blunty,
I think there's an error in this video. Its not per item of a set. So for the Soothslayer, its 2,500 coins per 1 set, or if you wanted to own all variations, you can buy them all at 5100 coins. So the antler hat is not $30 USD/45AUD.
checked the pinned comment ;)
30 dollars for a two piece set? Wtf is this game?
With this sort of monetization, Palia will not do well in the future if they continue this path
Thank you for making a video describing the exact problem with examples with the problems I have with the cash shop to share with others.
It's hard to trust words.
Never trust without first verifying. A lesson I learned many decades ago...
I wasn’t even gonna buy cosmetics anyways, but the high prices will make it very easy not to buy lol
Personally glad they went with such a ridiculous cost structure/item. Makes it an easy "No" for me when it comes to vanity items.
Luckily the clothing cosmetics are super ugly so I don’t feel the need to buy anything 😂😂 hopefully they add cute items and more hairs we can buy or something
Thank you. This is way more than the 4.99 to 9.99 I expected. My reality check has been adjusted appropriately. No fancy clothes for me 😉
And I bet they will not convert the currencies like EA does so 19,99 dollar will be 19,99 euro....
Blunty, the hero we didn't know we needed, maybe didn't deserve, but whose praises we ought to sing. Thank you for all you do.
Wow.
Yes was in early beta and saw those prices and logged out.
At least you could log in I kept getting that error login and just uninstalled
yah, this is a big yikes on their pricing tactics.
I’ve recently been diagnosed with ADHD and your videos have been so incredibly helpful to me, thank you 🙏🏻
I’m more of a retro gamer but I was intrigued by this game as it seemed to be neuro-diversity friendly and wouldn’t trigger my addictive personality… oh well 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks for making this video. I’m very disappointed in others streaming this game who avoid discussing the obscene pricing.
Commented for boosting you in the algorithms! 🎉 (Baker boy hat btw) 1:11
sheeezus with as many items this game has, they have no reason to be charging this exorbitant of prices. OUTRAGEOUS!
I am shocked! Shocked! Well, not that shocked. As someone else stated, I've come to accept that F2P games are just gonna have some form of sleazy monetization. I played the closed beta, and decided I am not really that invested in the game as I wanted to be.
The sets are not even that nice, to pay so much for them.
Downright wild
Keep watching the video. You'll discover why I find it ESPECIALLY egregious in THIS ~specific~ game.
FFXIV has no premium currency in their external cosmetic store, you get the real life money value for the cosmetic. Take that with a grain of salt too since its for a subscription bases mmo
Great video Blunty!
Tha ks Blunty for being a real one always. Long time viewer here.
I think you may have gotten the meaning of Each/Bundle a bit wrong.
Each mean one SET of cosmetic out of 3 in the bundle, not just the hat or the body. I watched a streamer bought one set for the price of "each". Mean each set of outfit cost over $10~20
Just helping with your info :D
Now, about the price, yes, it is so very very sleazy.
Not good, not good
Great content as always
I Like big hats, and i cannot lie... You're doing great, Blunty. Been here since the Wii safty video.
man this is friggen ridiculous, and here i thought FEH had a monetization.
Also, I do not have a favorite hat but I am a little attached to my hot dog socks. 😂
@@BoomingBean A little is an understatement. I could buy a whole indie game with the money it costs, or a weeks worth of shopping.
I just started playing today and its fun. I agree with you but as I don't intend on spending anything just like I did with Pokémon go these scams don't affect me any. Once that starts bleeding into the gameplay I'll be done with this game.
let them cook blunty
This week I've mostly been eating acorns.
Did you just drop a friggin' FAST SHOW call-back?! 🤣 didn't see that comin'.... but, I'm afraid... I was very ~VERY~ drunk.....
Edit: typo
The only people I’ve seen do decent monetization is riots legends of runeterra card game you earn all cards through grinding for weekly rewards that allow you to craft the cards you want and you earn packs as well that give you random with duplicate protection added as well so you never get past three copies of each card and they only charge for cosmetic items and they have a quarterly battle pass so your not constantly buying a battle pass every month or so
I signed up for the beta but I haven't been able to get it to successfully download on my laptop rip
This was the same problem I had with it I rather have them make it where you pay for the game once and everything else is free after.
I enjoy akubra hats personally.
I was hoping their monetization was to just have a price tag of like $15.99 and I would still be happy to buy it.
Agreed. SO much more HONEST.
Disney Dreamlight Valley same thing but now they have dream snap to earn more moonstones and you get 50 moonstones daily in blue chest maybe palia need do the same thing
most of the outfits are 10, 15 or 20$ ...
I was also disappointed and surprised when I saw how they chose to monetise I'd be more likely to buy if there were cheaper options too
I would not be surprised if they added a "battle" pass. I'd much rather pay for that than $50 for a skin...
Microtransactions are always sleazy. Not sure why people have not caught on to this. This is not surprising at all.
Favorite Hat: Tin Foil Hat.. keeps the brain nice and toasty. ;)
Idk why they didnt even put paypal or anything else just with card
My favourite hat is green, a green hat is my favourite hat.
I can't even get the game to install on my system. Even tried the ole reformat.
