Another way is to download a world that has fixed routing so that houses/sims don't get stuck and cause lag: th-cam.com/video/3N5oT6c3pvI/w-d-xo.html NRaas Overwatch helps a lot with resolving routing issues. Combine these three together and Island Paradise should become a lot more enjoyable.
That's why I prefer The Sims to be open world. No loading screens, No NPCs popping out of nowhere, full immersion. Really wish EA would bring it back with today's technology.
I actually love the NPCs and the loading screens because of the music but I also find the open world amazing so I guess ea is aware of how many different taste its fans have
It makes me more invested as well, however playing TS1 in TS3 makes me fully realise what's sorely missing, the quirkiness and humor. Playing in an open-world with the old Sims is a real trip, no loading screens and every sim is out and about, the world no longer feels lonely and empty.
It's fun to see what people make Bella do. I usually get her to dabble in acting and sorcery. She gets in all sorts of shenanigans while everyone is at work 😁

I really, REALLY want Sims 4 to release a free world modeled after the Sims 1 neighborhood. Either the 10 lot main neighborhood, or the 30 lot “expanded” town that came with Unleashed. I would love to recreate all my Sims 1 lots and families using modern Sims 4 tools.

More than 7 years ago I had tried to do it together with another simmer, he used CAW while I recreated the houses and businesses but in the end the other person got tired of the idea and I could never finish it :( I would love to be able to correctly use CAW to be able to completely recreate S1 including the neighborhoods of the expansions but in a single world.
That would be amazing! It takes a lot of commitment to get all of the details right in CAW. Maybe you could contact the author of this neighborhood to collaborate? I think they even collaborated with other people in order to make it.

this just unlocked memories of my childhood when I played sims for the very first time and I played the goth family, i was like 8 years old and the mom was cooking and the kid was playing upstairs and i just only paid attention to the kid. Then i made her go downstairs and the stove was on fire and the mom was freaking out, then the mom caught on fire and i tried to get the kid to save her but then the kid caught on fire and they both died and I was screaming bloody murder and my mom comes running and says "thats enough sims for today" i was traumatized :)
I have this neighborhood. I play it in the same timeline as Sunset Valley, with sims like Jeff Pleasant and Diane Danders (Pleasant) as children like Bella, Mortimer, Bob, Betty, etc. I plan to move the Goths, Newbies, and everyone else in the other neighborhoods in once the children are adults.
I noticed the world doesn't contain the Sims in family bin. Then I recreated the Roomies, the Pleasant and the Bachelor. I placed them in the premade houses in the main hood. I'm playing with the Newbie family and I will try to create a history there. This world is amazing. Almost an exactly replica. I appreciated your video! It brought me the nostalgia forcing me to download the world and play by myself.

I always liked to play with the Roomies but I found them nowhere. So I recreated them. I don't know if it is a problem in my game or they don't just aren't in the world.

Speaking other than Sims 1 into Sims 3, this isometric camera when zoom out smoothing view around with zooming cars reminds me of Simcity 4 game. I think its only me? Especially this part 12:27
It does look similar to SimCity 4 in that regard. The straight roads and isometric perspective gives it that look, along with the road textures looking very similar. Really cool.
It saddens me that The Sims 4 isn't this full of character and personality.. Also, I'm pretty pissed that we STILL don't have spiral staircases lol. I miss when The Sims had their own meaningful traits and weren't all the same. There's actually repercussions and things can go wrong while in The Sims 4, everything is always hunky dory and perfect. Damn 😔 AND WOW! NO BAD CODE THAT CAUSES SIMULATION LAG! Hmm...
The Sims 4 struggles to even simulate. Sadly they had to rush the engine because of EA, as a result the game's foundations are extremely buggy and incomplete. It's a shame the Sims franchise has gone so downhill. It started going downhill with The Sims 3 with it's large scope trying to please lots of fans without making sure it was stable before release (and into the future, no pun intended lol). I don't think the Sims team understands what made the Sims an enjoyable franchise to begin with.
Best thing is most of what you see, (if not all) is not modded. It's not CC. Just the amazing 'create a style' tool that Maxis implemented in Sims 3. Mind blowing
Even though Sims 2 is my favorite, I love how Sims 3 felt more like a successor to the first game. Something about the visuals and the atmosphere of 1 and 3 is more similar than 2 and 4.
If the lighting was reworked on Sim models (and generally), along with higher poly models like Sims 2, Sims 3 would be the perfect successor to Sims 1. Sims 2 gameplay and story is hard to beat though heh

RTX 3060 Ti, i5-10600K, 32GB of RAM at the moment. Other than that, the smooth patch has the biggest effect on performance, along with the isometric camera that eliminates camera stuttering! It's amazing and makes the game feel extremely smooth. It also helps that the custom world has a low amount of active sims roaming around compared to the towns in The Sims 3 (and fewer trees/foliage to render).
If that's what having cars is like, then I don't care about having them. Empty roads, automated from point a to point b, absorbing play time. It's basically just a loading screen as you travel to a new lot. I don't see why people are so obsessed with it.
Having sims enter a car with an animation is all that I care about, not necessarily seeing a sim drive a car everywhere. Like in The Sims 2, you see it as pre-loading screen almost without the long journey in real-time. Although some people like seeing the entire journey in TS3, personally I find waiting for a sim to arrive a bit tiresome after a while. It's a nice detail I like that helps make the game feel realistic, especially if your sim is traveling a long distance across a neighborhood. If your sim walks everywhere, like to the other end of a neighborhood and the time of day doesn't pass, then that could be immersion breaking for some people.

Hi! I was wondering how you get your game to perform so well? I've been trying everything and it still lags at some points ;(. I do have 16GB of RAM, an i7 processor and a GTX 750 Ti. What do you think?
Have you installed the Smooth patch I linked in the videos description? The Smooth patch can make the game perform significantly better with 70% less stutters. The isometric camera mod also makes camera movement a lot more precise and stutter less visually. I have also installed NRass Overwatch and have disabled Memories and lessons in the games options.

An expansion is missing, or not installed correctly (if I recall correctly). Had the issue for a while and finally fixed it, but it's been so long since then.
The Sims 3 Smooth Patch makes the game really smooth. In combination with NRaas and a good CPU, the game runs amazingly. My CPU can go up to 4.8 GHz, which helps the game a lot. I've seen other people run the game _even_ smoother than me, on the latest PC hardware.
@@penguinsushi8442 Do you have 64-bit Sims 3? I have a newer computer with the RTX 2070 and while i can run Sims 4 with ReShade with no lag Sims 3 is EXTREMELY laggy just on its own (it’s 32-bit).
@@ayaneagano6059 What CPU do you have? With The Sims 3, CPU core speed matters more than your graphics card. What resolution are you running the game at? I was running the game at 1080p in the video. The Sims 3 is only 32-bit on PC, on Mac it can be 64-bit. Smooth patch makes the game run significantly smoother, along with NRaas' Overwatch mod. All of the content, (excluding the gameplay) were not made by me. The world/map is custom, and the isometric camera is a mod. I've installed Smooth patch which removes a lot of the stutters in The Sims 3. The isometric camera also smooths nearly all of the camera stutters which makes a significant difference.
World Adventures and Supernatural fot the bridges, and Late Night for some trees. Opening the provided save file didn't work for me personally, so try creating a new save file using the SimsVille world if it doesn't work.

RTX 3060 Ti, i5-10600K, 32GB of RAM at the moment.
Other than that, the smooth patch has the biggest effect on performance, along with the isometric camera that eliminates camera stuttering! It's amazing and makes the game feel extremely smooth.
It also helps that the custom world has a low amount of active sims roaming around compared to the towns in The Sims 3 (and fewer trees/foliage to render).

If that's what having cars is like, then I don't care about having them. Empty roads, automated from point a to point b, absorbing play time. It's basically just a loading screen as you travel to a new lot. I don't see why people are so obsessed with it.
Having sims enter a car with an animation is all that I care about, not necessarily seeing a sim drive a car everywhere. Like in The Sims 2, you see it as pre-loading screen almost without the long journey in real-time. Although some people like seeing the entire journey in TS3, personally I find waiting for a sim to arrive a bit tiresome after a while.
It's a nice detail I like that helps make the game feel realistic, especially if your sim is traveling a long distance across a neighborhood.
If your sim walks everywhere, like to the other end of a neighborhood and the time of day doesn't pass, then that could be immersion breaking for some people.

Have you installed the Smooth patch I linked in the videos description? The Smooth patch can make the game perform significantly better with 70% less stutters. The isometric camera mod also makes camera movement a lot more precise and stutter less visually. I have also installed NRass Overwatch and have disabled Memories and lessons in the games options.

Yeah, the isometric camera makes selecting objects significantly easier, the camera is easier to control too.
my bridges are missing in my world
An expansion is missing, or not installed correctly (if I recall correctly). Had the issue for a while and finally fixed it, but it's been so long since then.
how'd you get it to work this good?! my sims 3 game is barely playable on my PC even after i took so many of the steps outlined in that one guide :(
The Sims 3 Smooth Patch makes the game really smooth. In combination with NRaas and a good CPU, the game runs amazingly. My CPU can go up to 4.8 GHz, which helps the game a lot. I've seen other people run the game _even_ smoother than me, on the latest PC hardware.
@@penguinsushi8442 Do you have 64-bit Sims 3? I have a newer computer with the RTX 2070 and while i can run Sims 4 with ReShade with no lag Sims 3 is EXTREMELY laggy just on its own (it’s 32-bit).
@@ayaneagano6059 What CPU do you have? With The Sims 3, CPU core speed matters more than your graphics card. What resolution are you running the game at? I was running the game at 1080p in the video.
The Sims 3 is only 32-bit on PC, on Mac it can be 64-bit.

All of the content, (excluding the gameplay) were not made by me. The world/map is custom, and the isometric camera is a mod. I've installed Smooth patch which removes a lot of the stutters in The Sims 3. The isometric camera also smooths nearly all of the camera stutters which makes a significant difference.

You can move in or create your own families in the town like normal in The Sims 3. I just selected an existing household.

Kind of like The Sims 3 Wii? Thats the closest the Sims has come to a GTA-like game. Shame its even more broken and laggy than the PC version :(

What EP are needed to open this world? Right now I only have the Season and Generations EP.
World Adventures and Supernatural fot the bridges, and Late Night for some trees. Opening the provided save file didn't work for me personally, so try creating a new save file using the SimsVille world if it doesn't work.

@@anneliesegregory8222 Yes, the Pets EP would be a requirement if you want TS1 families that had pets from Unleashed. I havent checked to see if any unleashed pet families have pets or not
