Thank you for a great video, (we now shot forward 7 years to 2022 !), and found you on you tube. Great info about features I did not know about, for example the simulator on the App, and great advice about firmware updates (example during a firmware update failure), and info about VPS, Pause Button, P S and A, and of course IMU (Internal Measurement Unit) and Compass advice, (all those awkward angles needed to hold the drone during calibrations), and how to do an emergency stop using the Home Button and the Left Stick (down to 4.30 position!). Overall thank you so much. I live in the UK, and sadly this wonderful piece of kit is restricted to my garden area, until I can pass that much needed exam. All the best ANDY (UK)

Thanks for a great video. I'm a drone newbie but have been a professional photographer for 30 years. I was Undecided about the Phantom 4, pro, versus inspire one pro. But I think I will go with the Phantom now. One point about the camera is that a bigger sensor will always give better quality even with less pixels. Crowding 20 megapixels in the one inch sensor of the phantom 4 Will produce lower quality than 12 megapixels in the much larger X5 sensor.

love your tutorials, if I may make so bold as to suggest that when you are pointing out buttons ,etc on the App, you do so with a slender pencil with an eraser ,so as not to damage the screen ,or something similar.Some times your finger obscures the relevant button. As they say in the Armed Forces when pointing at an objective on a map the width of a finger may give a 4 mile error. Thank you and could you repeat your Patreon site name...Thanks again

Hello is that controller only for phantom 4 Pro+ or Phantom 4 Pro as well? The reason why I am asking is i am going to purchase one in a few months, and I want that controller like that one.

How do you adjust the gimbal speed on the pro plus, I cannot find it.
I need help sir. I owned a P4 Pro and got the latest firmware on both the remote and the aircraft. Everytime I turn it on the IMU calibration appears and tried it for over 6th times andstill prompted me everytime I turn it on. Is there a way we can solve this >? Do I need to reset from the MANUCATURING RESET ? or downgrade ? Thanks !! Badly needed your help.
Do you need to stay connected to WiFi after the initial setup? For instance, do I need to stay connected via Hotspot when out in the field?

i got the phantom 4 pro + cuz it seemed to have so many advantages. now i find that the goggles won't have the same abilities with the phantom 4 pro + as with the phantom 4 pro regular. so lame, as its actually the more expensive product. i know you have a good relationship with dji. can you encourage them to maybe fix this via firmware so that the phantom 4 pro + can actually do more than just have live view with the goggles? if enough pressure is put on them maybe they'll add it via firmware.

Why did my camera cease to function at all after doing the firmware backup. ?? Seems to me that this happens quite a lot apparently according to some forums. All had to go back to Holland to be fixed. Hope its alright when it gets back
Jeremy Edwards the main reason people have issues is they buy there drone for sellers with no drone experience amd can't supports there customers so there only help is forums and Facebook . Most issues are an easy fix for an experienced drone dealer.

Hi there I'm new to p4p still shuffling through the camera setting on my phantom ...Can U point me in right direction
please ...got a problem with my p4p I'm in UK as well and just bought p4p in camera settings im trying to set up 4k. we use pal . But when i switch to this setting i loose the 60 frames per second it drops to 50fps .No idea why and i don't think this is right any ideas? Colin uk
For NTSC, 60Hz is the standard and therefore 30fps or 60 fps is the frame rate. For PAL, 50Hz is the standard, so 25fps or 50fps would be the frame rate.

Hello Friends, for those who want to do small area mapping the Phantom 4PRO + still does not fit. DJI has not released the GPS Software for it and also does not allow installing third party software. What a disappointment ....

@marionville multirotors Thanks for this great video. I am an instrument-rated, single-engine, private pilot and have experience with manually controlled drones. I have been researching drones for a number of years. I want the video quality of the Inspire II, but cannot justify the price tag for what I want to do.... high-quality videos from domestic and foreign travel.
I had been looking at the Phantom 4 Plus for a while but was concerned because I read negative reviews, particularly about the Crystal Sky Display.....and other issues.....DJI support, a sore point among many DJI users.
This video is compelling, making me think that the done might be a good buy after all.
So, my question to you is whether or not you have had any serious problems with the drone sine purchasing it? Any suggestions for dealing with DJI. How about where to purchase it here in the States?
BTW, can the drone be programmed to follow a course laid out by selecting waypoints? What is the range?

Andrew Baer, M.D. the P4 is pretty solid now as it’s been around for a while. Only thing I’ve seen on older ones the controller battery fails and you can’t buy them in their own which is a pain. You can set way pints but you need to fly the mission first to set the points and then it can repeat them. You could check out Ground Station Pro app by DJI as this May support pre programming.
Andrew Baer, M.D. I’m not sure about suppliers in the US but you wouldn’t go wrong buying direct. Just stay away from big electrical chains like Best Buy etc.

Bro, I have a question regarding photo result in my phantom 4 pro plus. Lately everytime I take some pics with my drone somehow the results were not available in the album. It seems the drone system cannot read the photo result. However this doesn’t happen when I take video. Any advice for this?
irwan utomo the built in screen runs on android and can be a little sketchy at times. Try a hard reset on the screen to clear the issue.

Thank you very much for these as you have filled in an awful lots of missing information, the get started from DJI is rubbish and I have had a load of trouble.. one was that the video link dropped off and would not come back. You however are 400 miles from me so I cannot buy from you unless you do postal sales. I might be buying another battery as they do go down fast.

FUBAR MOFO 879 people seem to disagree with you. Maybe you should have bought a drone from a proper dealer then you wouldn’t need to use TH-cam tutorials to get it off the ground.

At the moment you cant run any third party apps on the pro plus.

Hi, I just bought Phantom 4 and yet to open it. But, I was wondering. Is the app for the drone already pre-installed to the controller and automatically recognisable by the tablet being used? Or, do I have to download it manual?

shouldn't you upgrade the firmware using the assistant 2 program on a laptop or desktop?... it was recommended by dji that I do it that way for my phantom 4
Rob Simpson you can do it either way but if you have issues the Assistant is a good choice.
Got the new Pro plus and updated firmware with ease thanks to you however the academy training app freezes or just goes on it own so I am very afraid to fly it now. Any ideas ?

Yes most likely.
does the phantom pro on return to home mode the obsticals avoiding senseors are active or they only work on tripod mode .
so if you not in tripod mode and you lose signal the avoiding sensors don't work and you crash in things

My gimbal wont stop rattling when i am calibrating it .
I recently bought the DJI Pro 4 + i have managed to create the account but when i try to activate all the settings etc a message props up stating i am not connected to the internet where in fact i am. Do i need to connect a lead or is it all done through wifi please help. Great video by the way

Thanks for an informative video in a clear and unpretentious style. Couple of questions : I really like the idea of the Pro Plus built in monitor, but I'm also interested in the potential for mapping / 3D mapping of buildings, can you load that sort of software on to the monitor or do you have to use a separate smart device? In the video you spoke about setting the maximum altitude, and about us being limited to 400m in the UK. Presumably this is height above ground level where you take off, or does this prevent you using these devices on top of a mountain range in the UK? Cheers.

@ 38:00 you say that to turn the motors off you need to hold the stick down for 2 seconds. Wouldn't that kill the motors mid air while you are descending?

I hope you can answer one or two questions for me!
I purchased the P4P+ Obsidian this summer and before I updated the controller/built in Crystal Sky screen, I was able to select the Map Icon on the startup screen to download the map of a region. However, after updating the controller to the latest version 01.04.01.00, the map icon no longer works, and therefore I can no longer download offline maps.
Have you’ve experienced this and if so is there a solution and if not have contacted DJI to ask them as to what the problem is?

and how do you get the maps on as well
You will need to be connected to the internet to get maps. So you can either tether to a mobile device with data of your out and about or if you pre view the area you are going to fly at the maps will cache.

Question: I crashed my Phantom 4 Pro in sport-mode on a very high speed. Impact was devastating. Damage so much that not worth repairing. I now want to buy the Phantom 4 Pro+ , but the controller screen can't run 3rd party apps. I want to use LItchi. Question is : Will be able to link both my old previous controller and new Pro+(with screen)to the craft at the same time ? To use the 1 or the other
Not at the same time I’m afraid. You may find it hard to buy a new Phantom 4 as they are end of line.
