    Man what a great job/life you have. I really wish I stayed on my grandparents farm at times. It really is a job that at the end of the day, you actually feel like you accomplished something.

    Equipment, My Dad and Grampa always stress to treat it like it was on the verge of breaking. Be extra careful operating and over maintain it. Also to give every new machine a chance to break in befor operating at full capacity when possible. I think it's saved me tons of time and money.
    I like the way you say "we" a lot. It shows you think of your farm as a team effort. I also like that you can switch gears easily from one job to the next without complaining. Thumbs up!

    Great job!! I think it is great to see your sister working right alongside and throwing those tires just like any other farm hand. Running a milking operation is hard work, which us city slickers just don't appreciate enough. I hope you get a chance to take some time off over the summer. Cheers.

    Not sure if your magnum has the same seat as ours, but the seats in our 7230s swivel. All we have to do is push a plastic lever on the left front of the seat down and then the seat is free to swivel.

      I second that thought. Have Kielstra Holsteins and SaskDutchKid merchandise would be awesome. I mentioned quite a ways back when I first discovered this site after following Eric Weaver (10th Generation Dairyman in western Pennsylvania) for the longest time. My favorite TH-camrs are The Weavers in Pennsylvania, USA, Jan the SaskDutchKid in Azquith, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Graeme Parker the Hoof GP in southwest Scotland. They always put quality videos out there and I learn something from each of them every time!!

    Does stacking the tires against the silage deter deer from climbing on top of the plastic? If more tires are better I wonder if you could fabricobble tire mats, and use the loader to move the mats rather than individual tires by hand?

    Hey, if the alfalpha was so dry and struggling to blow out of the spout, surely slowing down would've helped- looked to be the shear amount of dry bulk going up the spout was the problem, losing the blow factor from the chopper? Seen wet silage struggle to blow, never dry like that?

    • @timothymbonham4453
      @timothymbonham4453 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, they
      e mostly gone by the time the cows eat the silage. It's more likened to yeast in bread dough or starter in sourdough -- it affects the bacteria that will fermenting the silage, to produce the most/best feed for the coes.

  • @waterbug85
