My Dad told a lot of people he didn’t want to save money 💰 he would rather make it “ as a fourth generation farmer 👩🌾 “ you two have a challenging way of saving money 💰 I love it “
Great video guys. Perfect timing for me fantastic tips cannot wait to start flashing my cards 🤣🤣. I have just arrived in w.a just finishing our 7 day lockdown. Thank you so much for your videos its helped heaps and heaps. MEGA THANKS ! LOVE TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. 🥰
Welcome, but when you have a car stay away from 7-11 for fuel, one of the dearest here in Perth, along with BP and Ampol, as Bamfamalan said join RAC and get 4c litre discount at Puma as well as discounts at other places. Fuel prices fluctuate greatly here, google fuelwatch and get up to date prices for where ever you are, good luck
hi guys sorry i missed both of you yesterday . with my elderly father with cancer . a tip for buying in bulk buy through llyods auctions they are Australia wide . tonight they are selling bulk products from a chemist insurance 😊😊
How to save money in any country? Don’t live there! 🤣 Every country will sting you somehow. Every country has savings if you look hard enough. I’m sure there are people who live overseas who like to learn from you guys, but then there are others just checking in on your lives and that you are happy, healthy and prosperous here. Please Maz don’t just become a ‘Move to Oz’ Channel because there’s a tonne of those. I’d happily watch you and the fam doing boring stuff or even Ben on the tractor! 🤣 So delighted you’re all well now. Maz & Ben, you’re TH-cam naturals. Keep the vids coming! Cheers from down South 👍
Haha that is very true! It’s funny, our viewers are made up of half people looking to move over here, and half are Aussies, we certainly try to cater for both crowds - we’ve managed to create a really lovely community. You made a really interesting point, we certainly plan to share more about our lives, and not just info videos ❤️ We hope you are keeping dry down south 😁
Nice tips for folk today. I knew Boreen Point even before you named where you were. Pleased you are continuing to improve. Sunday lunches at the Apollonian Hotel might be good for a vid. I believe they start cooking very early in the morning. A vid of them doing all the prep sounds interesting. Just a thought.
I thought I would mention Maz. When at the supermarket next, at the bottom of each price tag, (generally in fine print, lol) they have the 'unit' price of that item. (per kilo, or.....).After looking at unit price of items, I find it cheaper (per gram..) to buy the bigger size.
It is almost the rule, that the lowest unit cost is available on the largest pack size. Also note that the supermarket specials are almost never on the large pack sizes, and many special prices only bring the unit price down to what is available on the larger pack size anyway. It is a game!!
Great tips, family! 🤙 If you guys don't mind... Are there any good Hinterland short trips to make with young kids here on the SC? I know there's Google but lovely to hear from the locals 🙂 if I missed any related video, happy to hear back too. Noted the Boreen Point tip though. Cheers guys.
There’s Kenilworth for the 1kg donuts and an awesome playground. The Ginger Factory in Yandina (there’s a Gruffalo trail there too), they also have great Saturday markets in Yandina. We also love the Maroochy Botanical Gardens, I think they have a few bits for kids to do there. Let us know how you go, and also if you discover any other hinterland gems 💎
Very informative vid. A lot of people from other countries don’t know half of what the Aussie lifestyle really is like. The local communities offer so much for very little in return. Just be yourself and treat others the way you would want to be treated and you will be accepted. Above all is don’t try your overseas haggling with vendors, it’s not the done thing here
Other ways to save money is … if you read join your council library and borrow the books saves you buying them. You mentioned the the market place on Facebook to buy things cheaper ….. well let it work the other way and sell things you don’t require.
Learn to check the oil and water in your car ONCE a week . Low oil can cause you to blow up an engine that could cost you $ 5K-$15k to replace . Women or whips use some disposable glows and keep a couple of pairs and a rag in the car . Its not just a man's job , you also teach your kids as when they buy their first car its probably old and near worn out . Check tire pressure regularly , a flat tire or a tire that blows as you drive can really ruin your day .
Buying from a local grower also ensures freshness. Supermarkets often are sourcing nationally, so you might be buying produce that is weeks old and has travelled thousands of km. Local produce at a farm gate or a Farmers Co-op or FROM A FARMER at a market is the best. For processed/dried/tinned food, be aware of the benefits of buying stuff grown/made in AUS. Some countries have zero oversight on food security, and you are playing Russian Roulette with your health to eat it. Massive use of growth hormones and filthy food processing practices are common. Stick with AUS product. If in doubt, the AUS product barcodes all start with 93.
This comes as a bit of a personal hit and miss to taste/performance. Many of the supermarkets own brands are just as good as the well named brands but at a fraction of the cost. With many of the products coming out of the same factory as the more expensive brands. Some examples are : Aldi's Honey Soy crisps seem the same as the Red Rock Deli version. Coles dishwasher tablets are a fraction of the cost to popular brands. Most of the diet or no sugar drinks from Coles, Aldi and to a lesser extent Woolies are becoming very good and worth a try.
Thanks for the info, great tips. We're on our 5 month countdown and thinking about if we should buy new when we arrive. Can you recommend a shop such as Next for home furniture ect please?
There’s nowhere like Next - take a look online at Freedom, Amart, Harvey Norman. If you’re bringing a container, just chuck everything you can in it. It’s lovely to have your creature comforts in another country ❤️
@@whymeeveryone Sorry, Adam, the place name is Boreen Point, on Lake Cootharaba. The Noosa River rises in the low land behind the coastal sandhills to the north of Noosa, comes down through The Everglades into Cootharaba, back into a discrete river then into another lake (Coorooiba), back into a river, and finally to the ocean at Noosa. Houseboats can get to the top of Cootharaba, and tinnies can get into the Everglades, which is a network of small waterways.
My Dad told a lot of people he didn’t want to save money 💰 he would rather make it “ as a fourth generation farmer 👩🌾 “ you two have a challenging way of saving money 💰 I love it “
Making lots is also a winner of an idea 😁
You are such great ambassadors for our country. Thanks so much.
You’re so lovely, thank you Shaun 🥰🥰

Another great vid
It’s just a universal thing
Good person or bad person
Love that you people are here

Oh almost forgot going to the supermarket in the arvo late can get you some bargains in the bakery or meat dept.
Yes! Great point 😁
Great to see another video on what apps you use for discounts! Like how we use club card in the UK - whats the options there?
There's Flybuys for Coles (and some other places) and the Rewards card for Woolies xx

We enjoyed a lovely dinner there on evening. It’s a really charming pub 🥰

Yes, that is a great point, we often check that when shopping - sometime those ‘deals’ can sound more appealing then they are 😊
Great tips, family! 🤙

There is a great community spirit here in Oz 🥰
That’s a great point about haggling.
Sunny coast local ,I've found if I stay inside it keeps my costs down
Haha that’s a good hack 😂

Great 👍 hedging way for fueling on a personal way”
Yes, quite, but no risk involved if prices go down, as you’re not committed 😁 It’s a win win 😁
All damn good tips folks. I'm the scrooge in my family but my misses is a bit more extravagant
There’s always got to be one in a relationship keeping things in line - we’d be broke if Ben was left to run wild in the shops 😂😂

Great advice, and we love that you mentioned the kids too - it’s defo important for them to be capable 😁
Great tips, handy to know for when we come over, especially the fuel as we're doing 3 weeks in a motorhome 😀 thanks guys xx
Glad to help - yes, get the app downloaded! 😁
love this!
Thank you 🥰

I think you should be my accountants and money managers..hahahahaha
Haha - don’t let Ben help, he’s the spender in our family 😂
@@TheBAMFamalam lol, I'm liking Ben more and more
Did you sleep well at Boring point.
We didn’t stay over - we only just discovered the campsite when we filmed this 😁

I get wine cheep any way, I work at a winery
You’re going to make a lot of people jealous 😆🍷
noice - save money by buying pre ready ice in bottles
Great idea 😁
No 7/11 in Bundy
We noticed pretty much north of Noosa there’s not 1. If you have pumas though, you can still use an RACQ to make it a bit less exxy
People who don’t drink alcohol also get to save money by drinking healthier fresher drinks instead.
Daddy 🤤
