    Shane and Russell's story has been one of the more interesting to follow. Obviously they have a particularly sandy relationship, I'm glad they were able to grit through the rough and now they're on the gold. Good work to the both of you, I hope you can continue your professional relationship with mutual respect and enjoyment cause it seems like you guys have a pretty good lease with all those nuggies you brought up, congratulations to the both of you.

    I really like the old man. That old and still sling back breaking work. Much respect. I’m from Arizona so 113f isn’t really hot to me. But it kicks a lot of peoples butts working in that weather.

    I love this show, it's very interesting watch people work for so long to find that amount of gold, I work in Alaska on a gold mine with 3 people and we wind 10 oz a day, but I would love to spend a season on a screw like exploring, learning and experiencing their style of work, congrats on making the goal!! It is always awesome hitting your goal no matter the size of the goal hitting it brings great gratitude!

      When you have lived with that for 40+ years guess it won't bother you. I can say the same about Florida in the summer yet people who live there deal with it perfectly fine.

      Its either that or your skin will start blistering real quick. UV levels + the temperature will literally cook someone within a day. Also it traps your sweat and helps the body cool a bit better rather than it just evaporating straight away.

      As a fellow Aussie you can't appreciate how hot 45C is if you live in any other country. Imagine being inside the hottest oven ever with no breeze, and a scorching sun. HOT IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. It's a dry arid heat. The long clothes stop sunburn and create sweat to cool your body down. That's why us Aussies do this.

    "6 grams of gold is another $550"... since when has gold been $91 a gram?? Unless they are taking into account the nugget value.

    Silly question. Why don't they work at night.

    • @richardrejmer8721
      @richardrejmer8721 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's illegal to mine gold at night during the gold-digging season.
      When the gold nuggets are not in mating season, that's the gold digging season. But the gold nuggets must be allowed to rest and recover overnight, so it's illegal to hunt them at night or out of season.
      That' why the narrator keeps talking about how they "MUST find XYZ amount of gold for the season". .
      Once the gold-hunting season finishes, the gold rangers patrol the area to make sure people are not hunting out of season or without a license. .

      Not when you are used to the heat.
      Think about it the coldest it gets in QLD the majority of the time is 13C in Winter. Down south Melbourne maybe 4C in winter and Where i live in North Queensland anything under 30C is cold. Winter averages 19C Not joking. Europe winter would kill me.
