My new years resolution is to unravel his secrets! His ear for tone is a gift, he hears the microtonal adjustments through the spectrum of tone when adjusting the EQ, simply amazing.
@@LambChopper678 does that mean I won't be able to get the tones you get? Or will I simply not be able to use the pedals that should go into the fx loop?
@@minturby5144 all the software and presets will run fine, just means you can’t use actual pedals through the fx loop. I wouldn’t stress, the software and tone possibilities are pretty epic without needing an fx loop. All I run through the loop are eq’s, reverbs and delays etc. All that can be set in the tone studio.
It is just amazing how you are capable of recreating these tones. You literally made my guitar training sessions way more enjoyable. Thank you so much.
Master of Puppets was the gold standard of thrash songwriting and production with warm tones that also have clarity. It still holds a high level of appreciation with most metal fans.

@Jake Dibiase He gets close, but there are a lot of nuances he misses. He also neglects to say what style of pickups he's using... running his tones through EMGs kills it because of how hot those pups are
@@evangibeau4489 I put a OD in front of my Katana. It frees-up an on-board slot in the Katana effects chain. It's subtle, but it helps sharpen the tone a bit. It's not going to be as dramatic as if you run an OD in front of a tube amp.
You should make a video on your down picking. Man is it insane...so fast and clean. I notice your technique is really interesting to me.... your 2 fingers look like they are bouncing a basketball like speed dribbling. Would love to see a lesson. :)

Hey man, thank you for this video and the patches. Tho, it sounds great here when you present and use them, but when I load them on my Katana 100 MK2 it sounds...dull lets say. Or without enough "crunch", I really don't know how to explain it but for me the patch is faaar from what are you using :) Any idea why? Is there any other settings that we should do? I am using a guitar with EMG HET set on it. Thank you
A little update, I tested them on other 3 Katana, 50, 100 x1 and 100 x2, with different guitars and different pups, and it's the same issue, the patch sounds totally different from what I can hear here. Can you please share what there is to do? I just don't get it, I'm missing something and don't know what :)
@@crummy. Thx for the answer, I am using the Katana 100 MK2 with the stock speaker, I guess I need to fiddle around with the settings of this patch more as I didn't spend much time with it, maybe I get a bit closer to what I hear in the video :)

make sure that you're hooking it up to a set of decent speakers. Cuz you could put this on a Rogue Cab with those No-Brand Chinese Spreakers and everything would sound like trash no matter what you did.
I don't have an amp at the moment. And I'm trying to decide between the katana or the headrush and an frfr. I don't have a computer but looks like I need one of those to child of the 80's lol. So what rig would you recommend for a bedroom riffer?
How bad would these presets be on a katana 50 mk2? I have emgs in multiple guitars so thats good. Also when using the eq i find i make it look like a sad face and really like the high mids but at the perfect levels mixed with everything else and the tube screamer. I get better with the eq i feel like all the time.
Loving my Katana 50, but have to admit, in 2 years, I haven’t even bothered to load up the Tone Studio. So that’s going to happen as soon as I find my ol’ USB cable so I can grab these tones! Thanks Chopper!
Dude, you will not be disappointed. I had my Katana 50 for a year before I started using the Tone Studio and I wish I had started using it much sooner. It's unbelievable the amount of stuff in that program. I get it going every time I plug in now.

I love the fact that you assign the FX knob to the hi-gain in the parametric EQ. This fixes tone issues with the 50w stock speaker and whatever pickup we're running. All it takes is a slight tweak and BAM, it's ON! Thanks for all you do @LambChopper678 🎸🔥

A suggestion I have for this is the bridge/breakdown riff in Dyer’s Eve right after the solo. It is absolutely brutal and I love it.

@@SebastianZub it's because he micd up a speaker cab and your hearing the result of that. The amp doesn't sound like that in the room.
