In this video I test out the Smaco S700 portable scuba diving system. I'll be diving deep pools in gold bearing rivers where big nuggets have been found.

Good one Rob. I'm glad that other organisations are starting to support your work.
Been watching you and Levi on TV. Glad you pair got the opportunity to do it. I fell asleep waiting for the show to start last week. On a subconscious level I heard your voice and woke to see you on TV. That was a nice 13.48 find of Levi’s. Glad I didn’t miss that find. So great that a company has reached out and offered equipment. Cheers
I think the trick with the 1.9 l tanks is owning 4-6 tank units and just recycle filling them as they are used up. I am certified scuba diver and think big tanks are cumbersome in a sniping situation..
Thanks again Rob, great to hear you advising people regarding the safety aspects that you tell people about.
The biggest thing for me to overcome, was breathing under water. Glad you mentioned it. After the first dive and a patient instructor, I was off to my first pool under a waterfall. Found a great split in the bedrock and did great. Enjoyed. Thanks.😊
Nice hunt Rob love your office mate!
Love the OFFICE.
Cool rob, you look like a ninja😂😂😂
Genial amigo excelente trabajo saludos desde Colombia 🎉🎉🎉
Nice little take on the gold. Good job as always. As far as the portable air unit, they are all a pain in the butt. I have a gas powered dive compressor I have been using lately and it’s a lot of work but amazing fun. And yes, nothing like being under water with air. It’s a whole new world. Absolutely love it.
Awesome video Rob. Best wishes to you and your family from 🇺🇸.
I can only imagine the feeling of freedom, with the new setup!❤
Love visiting Tassie. Its a second home and when I am not there your videos give me a little a nice little reminder of how great it is there and that I should be exploring more. I was in Lanny last week and barely made it out of town except for a little drive up the Tamar. Anyway, appreciate your work. Great Videos!!
Thanks mate!
What a great little unit.
Thanks for sharing.
🙏❤️🌲
Nice Au indeed fam. Keep on having fun getting that Au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
GREAT SEEING YOU BK FILMING 👍
Great video Rob. Your vid skills are next level. Why tourism Tas isn't sponsoring you is a mystery to me.
Thanks mate super nice of you!
Rob, your videos are so awesome! Your camera skills are suburb! Scenery is so relaxing 😊
So glad to see you back to making content thank you Mr. Parsons, taking us on an adventure from our devices awesome , looking forward to many more!
I have a dream of one day being able to prospect some gold myself, enough to make a piece of jewelry for my 8yo daughter. Alas I live in Ontario where we have zero alluvial gold deposits. Thanks for the amazing content. Maybe one day I'll travel to Tasmania to make this dream come true.
You need to use this setup in the middle of the raging river behind boulders in a low spot!
Great editing work on this video. Love the music. Nice gold finds.
Appreciate it mate!
just been watching you on channel 7 with Levi...superstar now lol
You made my day with this short video. Always inspiring to see the beauty of our gorgeous planet from your perspective. Thanks Rob!!!
Awesome little place, for the first time without you announcing where you are we know exactly where you are 🥰 we were only discussing heading there last weekend, so peaceful... never knew there was gold maybe we should have taken the panning gear that rarely gets the opportunity to be used 😂
AWESOME VIDEO 👏
Excellent videography!
You are right. Before using any form of underwater scuba device, no matter how basic, requires a course and certificate. Need to be able to swim 200m and tread water for 10mins wearing a scuba unit. Doing a scuba dive course is like doing a boot camp attendance.
Love the chunky gold Rob 🤙
The larger ones yes but pony bottles 3L to 6L would not be too shabby depending on the situation and every one’s needs would be different you will find what works for you.
That being said yeah more tanks on rotation for greater bottom time.
Dynamite diving there.....
Great stuff Rob and good on Smaco for there support love your work .
What a great life you're living Rob, your vids are fun to watch. And bonus having an understanding wife. This one gets 🦈🦈🦈🦈 and a 🐦
🍻
Good work Rob.ive been waiting ,
Neat little package that 👌. Great heads up about the safety for new scuba divers too. Cheers 🍻
excellent choice of tunes Rob!
Thanks Rob. You & Levis videos take me places I can no longer get to. Long may you continue mate.
maybe a rotation of 2-3 tanks would work nicely for elongated hunting.
Good to see ya back mate , you and levi are an inspiration to alot of people, good work mate
Well you delivered again, what a great spot, great to see you have some new things to play with, and that will make your time more pleasurable, thanks again the old lenah Valley boys.❤🎉😅
Superb content 👍
That is really cool,Thank you Brother
Great vlog thank you !
So glad for another arm chair journey with you in Tasmania!🎉
Nice job! Thanks for the review always nice to see other equipment. I use a aqua robo dive hookah. I get about 4 hours out of the battery. Wish I went for the bigger battery but I still love being underwater. The shiny is just a bonus!
Oh nice they look epic 🤩
Got to say Mate even though the NPS has been a bit on the problem side, you continue to produce epic videos!
Great post thank you
This clip mades me feel like I'm right there diving. Thanks Rob 😊
That smaco is pretty awesome!!!!
Smaco unit looks pretty impressive but yer um I struggled with this one. I couldn't get past the fact that you broke one of the three golden rules of scuba. (Especially seeing you were testing unknown equipment)
Breathe continuously
Ascend slowly
No matter your skill set Never dive alone.
Thanks for the feedback!
awesome video as always man thanks for sharing
Nice to see you and Levi are now far more recognised. Not just with your show here but now on TV....Cool Rob...cool...I knew you and your mate Levi would do it. Awesome looking Scuba tank mate get you down in water a bit longer and go a few metres farther down. You got some nice shiny shinys gold..well done Rob...Pete from Devonport 💎♊
Grate video buddy keep em coming...
Wow, just Wow. Great fun Rob….my man and I have done a bit of detecting and panning in Victoria and NSW. We are now in Tassie and looking forward to some new scenery and places to look for that illusive little speck. Tassie is so beautiful and the spot where you where diving is magical..could be Savage River??? No don’t tell, everyman and his scuba gear will be up there. Take care Rob and I love your videos.👏👏👍👍
Awesome hunt keep up the good work
Great work rob
Nice to have the qualifications & to preach the safety rules.
You however appear to have forgotten the very first rule of SCUBA, “Never Dive Alone!”. 🙄
Other than that, nice video. 👍
great vid great bit of kit for the right circumstances nice shiny total win bro cheers
Nice. It would be great to have two tanks.
Sweet mate, some nice gold. they look like a good little unit
Nice gear! Two tanks would be good... one filling whilst using the other 👍
Nice one Rob
Great video thanks for sharing 👌👍👍
Love the edit and music
Looks like a good little unit. You will get better efficiency out of the bluetti if you use the 12 volt option to charge it. The inverter uses an extra percentage of the battery too. Just an idea if the sun is being shy like it tends too in tassie some days. Or you are in a valley
Use 2 Tanks, 1 on refill and 1 on you looking for gold, perfect :)
Your SDC works well under the wate
Pretty awesome office you have there Rob!
I am one lucky bugga 🤩
Great video again Rob nice to have air tank was wonder if they were available. I bet that big Cray has a stash in that hole give it a small nugget an watch where he takes it 😉👍🖖👋
The gold is always guarded by the crays 🤫
Hey Rob, a 2 ltr tank seems kind of small. I realize that you spent some time in the water that we don't see. I would think that having a second 2 ltr tank would be beneficial. You would be able to fill one while using the other one. I'm just thinking that it takes a long time to fill the 1 tank repeatedly with that battery pack and pump setup.
I love your videos Rob, but...I was wondering if you could mute the music while ure looking for gold under water ^^ would be much better.
Cool video !!! Just never enuff gold lol
WT4K! Sweet!👍
I seen the notification as soon as it uploaded 😂👊😎
Thanks lad for having the notification bell turned on! 😊
@@Rob.Parsons , between you and Levi, there isn’t any gold mining content I haven’t seen 👊😎
Brilliant video mate. Well done. Am bit jealous lol 😂
A portable hookah unit would save you a lot of lost time filling that tank, just change batteries. Yeah nice little haul of gold though. Cheers Mate👍👍😎💨🏴☠☮☮☕☕🔧🌈
You need a weighted flag, so you can return to a underwater location and continue on.
I still say he's Micheal Hutchens's dopple ganger!
Hi Rob
Love your work. I'm retiring in the new year and have thoughts of doing a little prospecting in Tasmania. So because I'm an absolute novice, I was wondering if you run any prospecting groups. Also, if metal detecting is on the in the cards for you.
That looks like it was a lot of fun
You can always tell your wife you forget to check the watch and time got away from you
It doesn’t work after the first time! Plus, I was starving 😂
You got poster of macgiver on ya wall?
🤐
Warms the cockles of my heart to see a man do as he is asked by her indoors. LOL didn't take you long to obey LMAO a good little unit, but ten minuts isn;t long. you need two tanks one on and one being charged.
Agreed! For me working gold it won’t be my go to unless the water gets really deep. Then I can bust out the secret weapon.
Wish they sent you 2 tanks 😂
Hey
Hi 😃 👋
Sounds like you need two tanks, less down time. Or is it more down time!??
Fuck yeah dude love your content
Great intro song too. What is it
Finally 😁
I’ll be back again soon!
@@Rob.Parsons i always look forward for your educational adventures uploads Rob! Can’t get enough of the breathtaking nature you got there in Tasmania. As if time just got stuck.
Just an idea! It would be cool if you could take us on a fossil hunt telling us about different mammals that use to exist there.
Bless and thanks again for being you!
DO A FLIP!!!
Hi Rob. What kind of warning do you get that you are running out of air as there is no reserve tank? Cheers.
Just the gauge which tells you the remaining pressure. I didn’t really monitor it but I was only 4-5 meters deep 😊
how much do you make from those flakes of gold
Need a 2nd bottle so it can fill as your using 1
Or even crocodiles
Mersey
Mate you need to start every video with "And welcome from somewhere in Papua New Guinea" that will stuff them. BTW I'm still blocked from the national sparks and wildfire social media sites.
Haha I like your thinking. I’m trying to do the right thing by PWS, hopefully they can come to the party.
@@Rob.Parsons I wouldn't invite the to a "party" if they were the only folk in town, small minded bureaucrats with poor life skills and a complete lack of common sense, looking for ways to create problems and raise some revenue.....!!!
Is this job your main job?
I wish! Trying hard to make it so, maybe one day!
@@Rob.Parsons Your video is very suitable for Vietnam. In my country, I can comfortably snipe, fly on fycam all day and no one says anything. Can I learn your way? Do you think that job is okay?
Do you ever get scared of the sharks?
:)
Sounds silly to say this, but wouldn’t you get scared if a king brown snake/other snakes, try and bite you
Not in an 8mm wetsuit! 🙌😅
@@Rob.Parsons if hes biting through an 8mm wetsuit you are already halfway down his neck.... :)
I find you got more value out of the placenta resporator than with this. You go too fast through a full air tank. If the profundity is an issue, i see this tank being useful, but at shallow depths, it's not worthy.
