Used this method to plant mint on 25th October & I am pleased to say that it is growing nicely. Thank you for a helpful video on how to get thriving mint plants.
I love this! I'm now too old and crippled to do much container gardening anymore,(I'm 70 years old!), but I think I can grow mint and other herbs on a sunny patio! I love mint,(as tea and with Lamb)!
Peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you. How are you, my mother? I saw your comment and you say that you are 70 years old. Mashallah. I want to tell you, my mother, that we will die and we all know that, but there is a difference between dying as a Muslim or dying in a non-Islam. I do not know what your religion is, but I hope you are a Muslim. In order for you to win heaven, my mother, God Almighty said, “No one will enter heaven except those who follow God and the Sunnah of the Messenger of God Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. 😀❤
Thanks so much. I always find myself watering my mint plants too much which kills the roots and by extension the plant. I am so ashamed of how much money I have already spent buying new mint plants trying to see if I could get the correct amount of water regularly. 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽 With your method the roots and then the plant takes the amount of water it actually needs when it needs it through the cloth.👍👍👍
Love it. This is a wonderful idea.... not only to recycle plastic bottles but keep the highly invasive mint confined. The sown in ground mint in our garden spreads all over and, in sputevof regular pruning and cutting, by August it grows to be taller than 4ft.
Awesome idea. I was looking to grow a lot of mint at home but the problem here in Nebraska (USA) the weather is cold most part of the year but in warm weather days, I have grown and used a lot but now since I came to know that equal weight of Mint, Garlic, Ginger and Pomegranate seeds (some green chillies optional just to give taste) grind together and make a Chutney to eat one or two table spoonful with every meal, keep your blood vessels/ arteries clean and blood pressure normal, and when arteries and clean, not only blood pressure problems are resolved but also many other issues in our bodies resolve automatically. But now when I can't grow in cold season, I have to buy from the store which comes from California & other states and very expensive to buy One $ or more I pay for a very small bunch. Rest items I can buy and available in the stores all year round. Now also knowing that there is no need of root to grow, I will try this method. Do you use any fertilizer in the water or just plain water and also do we need to change the water in the lower bottle often or the same water will work (just filling the bottle or like I watched another you tube video in which they use IV glucose tubings with control valve is used to control the flow. Please let us know about the fertilizer and changing the water. I will watch later rest of your videos, should be very great. So thanks for sharing and loading your inventions here. Oh by the way mint plants must need to be in the sun when possible or when the sunlight available or we can use electric light bulbs to provide the light? Thanks again.
Gran video, muchas gracias.
Great looking plants! Thanks for sharing 🤗Just 3 questions : 1) what's in the water you put in the base of the plants? 2) what type of soil do you use to plant them in the permanent planter 3) do you also water/sprinkle them with additional water 💦 aside from the water you put in the base of the planter?
You may use normal soil but mint like Rich one just water in the bottom you may use normal manure for vegies one's a while every week or every two weeks depend how much plants need you must Discover it by yourself and that's way gardening is such beautiful. Greatings
With the lead up to the Festive Season, thought I'd start something new.. So I bought a mint herb by omg your videos are amazing, think you may have converted me to being a gardener 🥰 So satisfying seeing the outcome of your work ❤️
Great video, thank you very much. A better tip is if you paint all the bottle containers that have the water in them. As a result, no algae form in the water and it stays fresh longer and does not have to be replaced. God bless.
Question: Did you also put water on top of the soil in the water jug planters, or just allow the soil to siphon up the water through the piece of cloth? I hope you'll answer because I plan on starting this soon.
Thanks this was a clear easy to follow instructions. Your music was great too! After can collect some containers I’ll be ready to start! Really good job 👍
I was throwing three bottles into a recycling bin. I am repotting my mints today as well. Should I place my cutting outside in the sun or keep them inside?
Where do you put the fertilizer? Directly into the soil of into the water? And what kind of sun? Morning, afternoon or subdued lighting? Your answer would be very grateful as my mints keep dying. Thank you.
Hi thanks for sharing your gardening knowledge. Where should we place the bottles, in a shady place or a sunny place? Please reply. Too excited to start the plantings. Thanks
Super idea. Will try this. Thank you. After developing roots in water, when I transfer the plants to soil, they are not surviving. Why is it so? What soil mix did you use?
Great idea. Just one thing that I would change. I keep the label on at first. I use it as a cutting line when cutting my bottle in half. Otherwise, I can't cut a straight line.

We’re never too old to garden !✌️😊
A very simple and easy method to grow mint. Also, a very good tip to keep the plant moist using thin cloth pieces. Thank you so much!
Qual TERRA devo usar?
What soil mix is that?

Does it need 💦 from upside??
It's remarkable how well this works! I'll never have to buy mint again!

We use a lot of mint and herbs in our cooking. This looks like a fun way to save some money!
Brilliant idea. I have grown mint before and it took over the garden.
Same here. Was trying to grow thyme in the same raised bed and the mint pushed it all to one corner and damn near killed it off
