I like the video for a completely other reason: It shows India that divorced people can still be respectful and relaxed around one another and retain a friendly vibe with each other. It speaks volumes for them as human beings, in my opinion.
In today's times people would tag this as #divorcegoals 😀

Old Delhi Films - of course he was shy... He cant lie in front of his ex-wife and nor can he open his heart in front of camera. BT he managed to hide things well. Just look at kalki's eyes.
This episode made me understand the whole idea of having a tape recorder - no third person to spoil the chemistry and create an imbalance - just two people and their intimate conversation :)

No wonder the conversations are 'conversations' and not talks, all of them are so candid and real and raw. It gives a glimpse into the 'real' character of the 'reel' actors.
I admire that whatever may have happened, these two managed to retain their fondness for each other. That's precious.

Gosh! They were being emotionally naked and so real. Wonder what made them do it and be so vulnerable to our gaze. Treat to see such mature individuals who can part, be respectful and talk without rancor.

This was the most intense(and arguably the best) Tape Cast till date.Two people who know each other really well and try not to hurt each other.
I see pain and memories in Kalki's eyes and love and affection in Anurag's.

The last answer was pretty deep. To think that such a creative person/director has flaws outside of his work and him admitting to it. Him being lazy and not knowing how to have a conversation out of cinema has really shown that he is a changed man. I mean come on, who admits these things. Truly, two of the most talented people I've seen.
"..that I can live with myself... finding that support in myself..." I just love that answer because it's really tough to reach that level of independence.

I loved it and have such respect for the decency and integrity with which they discussed all of these topics. While I have been and will always remain a big fan of Anurag, I have new found love and respect for Kalki. Like others, I too could sense the love they both still have for each other. I could sense the hurt and pain in her eyes and yet the maturity and the coming of age in her answers. Kalki you are such a beautiful human being! I wish to meet them both some time in life. Two very intelligent and artistic people *_* Loved Kalki's sweet and genuine nature.And the way Anurag looks at her and listens to her,enraptured by her throughout the video and his regret of not having made enough effort in their relationship.So much of love,respect and forgiveness between the two of them and zero bitterness.Just two people making peace with life and themselves.
Anurag certainly knows he could have been a better husband while Kalki is very matured and good at heart so she doesn’t put him in spot and also comforts him. I feel this is what happens when you are actually very fond of each other but cannot live together. Love doesn’t come with a guarantee of co-existence.
The very moment I started to watch this I had made up my mind to write in comment section. With every passing second lots and lots of thoughts were coming into my mind to pen down. But as the video finished I had a big smile, I was feeling really happy, very lightweight. I don't know what happened but it kind of transported me, I don't know where, but definitely a happy place. Now I have just one word for both of them

This was beautiful indeed. I don’t usually comment on TH-cam videos but here I couldn’t help myself. The pain in Kalki’s eyes when she said ‘We feel like we are just characters in your film...’ and he responds ‘that’s the drama..no...it’s not like that but that’s my surviving...,’ that moment just spoke volumes. That was so sad that it broke my heart, he protects himself through this world and it seems like she felt close to him but knows he could never let that wall down. He loves her and it’s reciprocated by her but she knows that he could never allow the deep connection she wants because he guards himself. That vulnerability in a relationship is so visible here. You can see she genuinely hopes he can overcome that someday and find happiness with someone but there’s too much pain between them for her. Love you both and hope you both find happiness.

At first I was like how's this gonna look like or sound like! But eventually, their body language and their replies and those emotions through their eyes, and those awkward moments btw each lines... Moved me.
I guess that's what happens when you loved someone once and know in your heart that that person was not wrong, that realationship was not wrong, it's just that that you met at such time in your life when you couldn't make things the way they were supposed to be.

Mutual respect, adoration , acknowledgments of various kinds,this was beyond THE most organic unfiltered unapologetic love outa respect-respect outa love scenario i ever witnessed in my life ..... SO PURE SO BEAUTIFUL SO ADMIRABLE ...... It's piece of ART which no one should dare to touch to even move a cup outa that whole space ..... this should be kept&preserved as history to be used for reference " how does an absolute organic naked pure art form looks like " ....................................
Anurag is behaving so shy and awkward, Kalki has become a kid in front of him. Seems like kalki clearly loves him. Anurag feels guilty for some reason.
But you need to live and breath cinema again. We need more Gulaals and Gangs of wasseypur. Without you Bollywood sucks badly.

I'm not going to pretend to find any deeper meaning into the film, more than there is but I love No smoking. Everytime there's some new detail I overlooked the last time. And Kashyap is one of my recently favourite actors. Yes, actor.
I keep watching this video whenever I am confused about love, loss and longing....so many dimensions to this conversation and the overall energy these two create!! And I dont think any experience is a failure..never!!

these are the feelings that i could feel throught diffrent moments..
1. initial awkwardness bt a failed try to look normal
2. sadness in his eyes while she was ansring
3. regret
4. kalki was totally able to see through him so most of the time he was looking down to avoid that
5. the compassion in her eyes, that were saying I still love u
6. the last part when they realised they are no more togather, so again much more regret for not trying to save the relation.
throught the interview, his eyes were saying it all, the love, the sadnesss, the regret.
