Hey, do you think i can get a good image with the Celestron Astromaster 130EQ telescope, like will i be able to see jupiter or saturn(without any barlow lens and with using the equipment which comes from the box)?
This video gave me chills the first time i watched it. It's crazy to think that it's possible to see something so far away with such clarity. The music helps too

It should be pretty close. The 70mm is an f/10 scope and the mak is at f/12 so with a 2x barlow the 70mm will be at f/20 and the mak at f/24. with a 3x the 70mm will be at f/30 and the mak at f/36
Question!! I have a 10" orion skywatcher dobsonian as well as a 2x barlow lens that requires 54mm back focus. Would my 2" tube extender (also able to fit 1.25 eyepieces) fix my focusing problems? My mm eyepieces: 42, 35, 28, 20, 15, 9, and 6 (last 4 are 1.25). I'm still quite new to this wonderful hobby; any help is much appreciated!!
What do you recommend for a celestron astromaster 70AZ refractor telescope. Because i have a 20mm and 10mm eyepieces and with those jupiter is just way too bright to see details. And along with mars its just too far away still. My highest magnification it can go to is 165x
You need an astro camera, like what I am using. The camera I am using is a ZWO ASI120mc-s camera. With a camera you can control the exposure time and brightness, you can't do that with an eyepiece. Jupiter is very bright so when looking at it with an eyepiece all you are going to see is a bright planet and the 4 moons.
We measure distance in space by astronomical unit (au) -- equal to the average distance from Earth to the Sun which is 93,000,000 miles so knowing this and knowing how long it takes earth to make a trip around the sun then we can observe the other planets and see how long it takes them to make a trip around the sun and calculate their distance

@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy Thanks for the info. I'm starting an astronomy hobby (at 73 years old) by purchasing a Celestron Nexstar 6se. I did have a telescope (refractor) back in my forties but was never serious about it. Now I am. I appreciate your video info. One addition question; your opinion of a zoom eyepiece (8 to 24).
The image is sooooooo good!. Which software did you use for stacking the images? Also while clicking through Barlow lens , chromatic aberration comes into playin my photos. Any idea how to avoid that. Thanks for the great video!
Hello. Nice video. What telescope camera you use and what are the barlow models? could you link them in the description? i used my telescope with eyepiece projection, 5mm and 22.5mm on planets, and also on prime focus. is not a dedicated planetary telescope, i have skywatcher Ed80/600, the focal length not ideal for planetary, I am thinking to buy also a barlow lens
Most barlow lens that come with your telescope are garbage. This is the 3x barlow that I am using. www.highpointscientific.com/apertura-3x-barlow-lens-with-ed-glass-125-inch-barrel-3xb1
Nicee...what telescope/aperture you used and at what magnification? I have a 130 mm reflector and a 10mm eyepiece, hmm I wonder if I could get such results.
I do prefer the 2x view. You stacking in Deep Sky Stacker and then moving to Registax? I'm new to astrophotography so trying to figure out the process to catch similar images. Have a Nexstar 4se.
please note that barlow use is *entirely* dependent on your telescope, seeing, and camera. there is no general "good" barlow power. on the website astronomy.tools there is a calculator.
The StarSense 130 is an f/5 scope and I am using an f/12 scope. The higher the f ratio of the scope will give you better views of the planets so when I am using a 2x barlow my scope is at f/24. When you are using a 2x barlow your scope is at f/10. You will not get the same views with an f/5 scope that I get with an f/12 scope

Just going to have to experiment!!
No. Different scopes have different Focal Lengths. The scope I am using has a 1500mm Focal Length so if you are using a scope that only has a 650mm Focal Length then you are not going to get the same view
@@helpmereach1ksubscriberswi548 You are welcome and Focal Length is basically how long the telescopes optical train is from the main optic to where the image is formed at. A short focal length will give a wide field of view but the objects in the field of view will appear small. A long focal length will give you a small field of view and the objects will be larger

@@Jayling Yes they are made by the same company and the tripod and mount are really bad. that is why I upgraded to a Celestron SE mount
I really liked the first image!!! And now you want to know howe!I can see that the atmosphere of the earth is the reason. Me myself have a 2.5 Barlow and i think that’s hollariuos!! I think that you’re observations are beautiful!!i live in Amsterdam Holland with a lot off light pollution!! Greetings Richard.
Thank you
Thank you my beautiful friend! I hope you have a wonderful day!
I appreciate you so much! This is incredible to see & thanks to you we can!
Amazing!!

You are welcome and Thank you
What eyepiece did you use?
No eyepiece was used, just a camera attached direct to the scope with a barlow lens
@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy Whoa, i didn't know that could be possible. Amazing
@@cirilinhozinho Here is a link to the camera I am using. www.highpointscientific.com/zwo-asi120mcs-super-speed-color-cmos-camera
What is a stacked image?
I take a lot of frames on an object in space and then stack all of the frames into one image with a stacking software. NASA does the same thing so when you see a photo from NASA it is not a single image but it is a stacked image
I really like this video
Thank you
Is this throug a Celestron?
Yes it is
@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy cool I have a 130mm and I just got a 2x Barlow. Will it help me see Saturn better?
@@stopmotionwalter6680 Yes it will and a 3x will give you an even better view
@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy thanks?
I meant thanks!
What magnification?
The image is sooooooo good!. Which software did you use for stacking the images? Also while clicking through Barlow lens , chromatic aberration comes into playin my photos. Any idea how to avoid that. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you. I used AutoStakkert for stacking and RegiStax6 for processing. What telescope are you using?
@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy It's Meade Polaris 127 (Newtonion Reflector). The aberration creeps in while observing Jupiter or Saturn only.
Hey do you recommend 2x OMNI Barlow? I have Celestron LT70AZ
Yes it is a great barlow lens
@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy Thank you very much.
Hello.
Nice capture my friend 👍
Thank you my friend
Awesome video footage as always my friend!🙋🏻♀️😍🥰👍🏻♥️🧚🏼♀️
Thank you Paula
What is your telescope
Celestron 127mm f/12 Maksutov-Cassegrain
@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy thank you so much
Totally awesome my friend😊✌💖💗💓🌷💗🌻💓💕
Thank you so much
my 60 mm travel scope came with a 3x barlow lens I can not see anything with it
Most barlow lens that come with your telescope are garbage.
Check out my tutorial video. th-cam.com/video/jlwl85ok2rw/w-d-xo.html
please note that barlow use is *entirely* dependent on your telescope, seeing, and camera. there is no general "good" barlow power. on the website astronomy.tools there is a calculator.
I have a StarSense 130. I really want to upgrade to see planets better. Love your Jupiter and Saturn images. Can I get there with this telescope?
The StarSense 130 is an f/5 scope and I am using an f/12 scope. The higher the f ratio of the scope will give you better views of the planets so when I am using a 2x barlow my scope is at f/24. When you are using a 2x barlow your scope is at f/10. You will not get the same views with an f/5 scope that I get with an f/12 scope
@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy Merry Christmas and thank you for the info. I'm a stone cold rookie and am learning already. For Christmas my wife bought me a 2x Barlow lense and a couple of eyepieces, a 15mm and a 6mm. Not sure what the magnification limits of the scope is or what my new stuff will take it to. Just going to have to experiment!!
Is it same if you use a different telescope??
No. Different scopes have different Focal Lengths. The scope I am using has a 1500mm Focal Length so if you are using a scope that only has a 650mm Focal Length then you are not going to get the same view
@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy ok I just want to get a telescope and I've never had one before thanks btw what is focal length?? Plz answer
@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy ok thanks again for information ❤️
@@helpmereach1ksubscriberswi548 You are welcome and if you have any more questions I am always here to help
Absolutely bad ass .question found my old telescope minus the eye piece would and eye piece fit it.ty in advance
Yes but I am not using an eyepiece, I am using a ZWO camera
Wow ! Beautiful images 👍👍
Thank you tony
Outstanding as always
Thank you Marko

do you recommend me to buy a barlow lens 2x. i have a celestron astromaster 70
Yes I do recommend a 2x
So beautiful!🤗💕👊✌
Thank you Cass
Here from Pusa's live. Wow I'm loving your channel since I'm a sky watcher. Joined your awesome channel.
Thank you and I subbed to you also
i like the 2x barlow as i like to see the moons how is the pixel size to f? ratio with each barlow ??...what is it again 5 x pixel size gives you the best f? ratio for planets i forget ( i seen a youtube video once lol) love ya work man both shots are very good appreciate the upload
cheers
james D
Thanks James and I'm not sure on the pixel size to f ratio but it is an f/12 scope so the 2x puts it at f/24 and the 3x at f/36 and I have tried a 5x but that was too much
@@CarolinaSkyAstronomy g`day mate this is what i was talking about start at 34min th-cam.com/video/myhdcCQOORI/w-d-xo.html they explain it better than i would about achieving the optimal f ratio for your camera pixel size for planets
cheers
james D
👍 Every time! Nice
Thank you Outlaw Bob
Hmmm, that's a toss-up for me. I kinda like the moons being included in the frame but, then again, the 3X is more personal. Sweet vid!
Thanks Doc
I have settled on my 2.5x triplet Barlow and find it perfect for my planetary viewing
