    Nice break down of the RunTru I just purchased a new one along with 2.5 ac unit. Time will tell. Removing a 25 year old Bryant system.

    A major disadvantage of this design is that the side return openings are small. need transition for appropriately sized filter.
    btw comparing a modulator to single stage is extreme. the good middle ground is 2-stage which still has major advantage when it comes to comfort.

    • @bobbygetsbanned6049
      @bobbygetsbanned6049 ปีที่แล้ว

      How about the bottom opening if it's going to be ran horizontal? Can it fit a 16x25 filter without a transition?

      @@bobbygetsbanned6049 that would work, so would side and bottom return.

      That's good info. A question if you don't mind. Would a 2-stage heat pump make sense for a 950 Sq ft house (2 ton unit). I've heard that the added costs for repairing these 2-stage units doesn't make sense for such a small home. Thanks!

    • @Jon-hx7pe
      @Jon-hx7pe ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@boeing757pilotmany 2-stage are not significantly more expensive to fix than single especially if you get a more basic one. the actual machine has to be researched to tell.
      inverter modulating stuff is very expensive to fix.
      i can't tell you if 2 ton 2-stage is appropriate, it really depends on home, ductwork and climate. sq ft of home alone means very little. both when it comes to size and whether to get single or two stage. it also depends on why you want 2-stage.

    What I find quite interesting is that this "lower cost" RunTru furnace has dual stainless steel heat exchangers, where as Trane's higher dollar units have an aluminized steel main exchanger. To me, I'd think the dual stainless steel exchangers would be more reliable in the long run. Am I wrong about that?

    Nice video, is that the s9x1? I’m having an American standard s9x1 and silver 16 seer single stage ac installed this coming week, I can’t wait. It’s replacing my 1962 thermopride or temp star gas furnace and 1994 carrier like 10 seer furnace

    Just a tip, instead of opening the top and bottom of the box, just pop the bottom of the box open, lift up and you can slide the whole thing off the furnace. Then flip it upside down and you can use the box for trash.

    Great Video!!! How quiet is this compared to the similar Trane model or what manufactures note as a quiet model? Would this be an option for a furnace in a utility room off the main hallway near the living area where we watch tv? My current Armstrong 2004 era is pretty loud. Thanks in advance!

    • @huntaviousmaximus7113

      RunTru is louder than Trane due to lower quality insulation in the cabinet and lack of a powder coat finish on the exterior
