i would like to add that you can hold the alt key and press the ability button to level it up instead of clicking it with your mouse. It can help if you are in a battle and either you or a teammate defeat a minion or player.
I'm a noob coming from fps background. Yes, I want help with the basics, so do a laning video! For instance, take infernus, show a full 10 minutes of laning and talk over it - why are you going back to base now, why are you heading to jungle, etc. etc.? would be awesome!
In addition to this, I'd say it's also worth going over the lane of lower skill players in replays and pointing out the tactical mistakes in comparison. As a player, in the heat of the game, you can notice yourself doing 'the bad thing' and use that as a cue to switch to what you ought to be doing instead.
0:41 Bebop is actually not a hitscan. I labbed this in sandbox. It's just a very fast projectile, you can see if you lower the speed. This is why his laser can curve.
another tip is if you accidentally level the wrong skill you can take it back with a little timeframe just TAB(or whatever hot you have for the cursor)then click the check of the skill you leveled it will delevel it
A note about jungling vs minion waves Yes, troopers get a shitload more valuable as the game goes on however 100% of that value goes into the soul orb instead of only half after minute ten as well as souls get split between nearby heroes instead of each getting full value at the same time. If you have more than one person in a lane just idling it's less efficient because you're still getting only 50 per despite troopers being worth 100 and any deny is way more massive. Efficient jungling will net you way, way more souls per minute than just sitting in waves, you stay in lane to pressure objectives.
Imo healing rite is more valuable when you are the aggressor, otherwise it forces you to play even more passively. Extra Regen, melee lifesteal and restorative shot should also be considered when you are getting harassed a lot early.
I like to pop healing rite whenever I take the first small jungle camp that spawns, since creeps don't break it and it means I don't have to waste time standing around. Still stronger as the aggressor once you've cleared your wave already, but very useful to allow you to stay in lane either way
One little trick I've come across is that sometimes you can intentionally not secure a soul to bait your lane opponent to deny it to find out their position if you've lost line of sight. Helpful when your opponent is constantly hiding behind cover.
i prefer extra regen over healing rite, way easier to play around since its passive and easier to stay for waves. not sure where it actually falls compared to healing rite, but it feels mandatory once i started building it
Ah alpha advice from better players - love it. You can always find at least 3-4 people 200x better than you, that offer the 180'' opposite advice to new players with regards to what to do and when to do it. Same here. New players base too often vs people stay in lane when low for way too long and wait too long with buying items. Don't push the lane for no reason vs *do* push the lane in this game, this isn't LoL or DOTA and denying, farming and poking is actually easier when pushing on your enemy's 'towers' etc. I'm curious to see who ends up being right in the majority of situations :p Good vid btw!
nice video. i think in the next videos you can mention some useful macro tips like the big temp buffs on the bridges (hp, casting, speed, weapon, etc) and how important they are. also maybe something with the teleporters and secret shops, as well as creep camps and good roofs to climb on
I quite like restorative shot, or melee lifesteal over healing rite. It's just personal preference, I find the constant lower sustain is better for my playstyle. Either way great point, get something to stay in lane/sustain.
Movement is really something, that i struggle with, can't get use to it Also, sometimes heavy melee has way bigger hitbox, so even if you dash, you will still get a hit Great video!
Load up a game against bots and focus on movement and getting around the map. There is WAY too much to think about in game to focus on proper dash jump timing and crouch sliding at the same time and as a result you'll end up developing bad movement habits. Yeah, it's nowhere near as fun as playing against real players but the movement tech is often the difference between getting out of a bad situation alive and dying and if you keep reinforcing bad movement habits you're going to be in a world of hurt.
One thing that def improved my gameplay was not shooting full hp creeps, takes way to many bullets at the start and its better to damage enemy to push them bck
Hey Smeefu love your videos. Any chance you could update the pocket build after the latest patch nerfed phantom strike into the dirt? Or do you believe its still viable? Let me know what you think!
Could you maybe make a vidoe of the " most fun builds on heroes? Like bebops double bomb, or vindicta going for massive assasinate damage, or turrets on minigun women? I seen Ivy combo vomboes with seven, with dynamo, these kind of builds are so much fun.
If you're unsure if you are "over-extending" into the jungle a good rule of thumb is to only do the camps right next to your lane. When you notice that you are clearing them very fast (long before enemy wave arrives in lane) you can start to clear camps further away.
Not shooting full health minions is terrible advice, you need to kill minions faster to establish a pushing wave or at least match the push of the opponent. If you Never shoot full health minions your walker will be underfire all lane and you will constantly be getting poked and forced into being passive/farming under tower and bad trades. Level 1 in particular if you can get a shoving lane and keep it shoved in you get XP and level ups before your opponent allowing more chances to all in/poke and get tower damage and tower lead. Also if you kill there wave first you can focus soley on denial of your minions pushing the lead more.
i should have phrased it differently you are completely right that there are a lot of situations where it is good. but there are also a lot of situations where its bad :) looks like i made a noob mistake gg. i just trust people's common sense that for instance when they have killed the enemy laner, they dont just stand there waiting for the minions to get low but obviously shoot the full health minions there, and other situations. but youre right there are plenty of times it can be good that i neglected to mention. i will talk about both types of situations in a laning specific video
i mean bro i played also the ow2,that game doesnt piece of garbage like this game why the enemy even able to steal the minions soul while you already busy to kill it for example abrams Vs infernus playing does abrams have the same bullets as infernus ? No... so does he also shoot far with shotgun the souls coming out of the minions ? NO... its so fucking hard despite being hard it is so RIDICULOUS.
If there is any travel time to his laser it's virtually instant, if he's not hit scan he's as close as someone could possibly be. He is effectively hit scan@@ponaskompetencija
Tbf I'm also a top player and every now and then I get matched with low-ranked players, especially late at night. Just an hour ago enemy Haze was clearly very new to the game, not even dashing. I was laning against them as Mo & Krill and I felt really bad when I disarmed them and they just stood there with the "click click click" sound from trying to shoot me point-blank while disarmed...
@@smeefu All tips are solid but I would have expanded on the "don't shoot full-health minions" one since I think the tip can be a bit misleading for new players, they might think that letting the enemy lane push closer to your guardian is good, especially since other MOBA:s like DOTA it would be preferred to have the creep wave closer to your tower. I saw you mention a laning guide in another comment and I think expanding on this would be a good idea :)
I heard that thing about not shooting full health minions and came here to see if anyone called it out as wrong. It's a dangerous piece of information that will throw games for people
I think that there is a lot of nuance on when to focus pushing creeps and when to just last hit and secure/deny. That said, I do think new players tend to focus on hard pushing creeps more than necessary. A laning guide would be a great help.
Your bit on going back to base too often is absolutely wrong. Towers die early because of people pushing too hard not because no one is defending it. And destroying the tower too early is also a noob thing because you miss out on some important early game farm. No, the noob thing is not knowing you should go back to heal at all. People new to mobas don't understand the concept and will linger in a lane they can't farm or poke in because they're low to do so. When someone is super aggressive abd trying to rush down the tower and you're at a disadvantage there is nothing staying can do. You should go back and heal. They will take the tower. But then you farm and they're suddenly not able to get as much farm at all so you can catch up. Don't give noobs such terrible moba advice. They need to learn it's better to not feed than it is to miss a little CS. They can learn to better manage when to time leaving better after they get that basic moba element into their heads and get over their idiot ego and go back to base to heal before they feed any more than they already have. You deal with aggressive lane pushers either by being able to score a kill or two in their sloppy strategy (without dying) or by focusing on farm while they work too hard for little extra benefit. You can win a lane against some idiot mcgunnis who thinks the faster they take the tower the better and who kept denying your souls. And you can do it by being patient and focusing on not dying and make up the farming after the tower is down.
pushing towers as soon as possible is viable tactic. You don`t need farm on lane like in others mobas, you kill tower, get reward for all team, continue pushing or revert to next lane to help allies push theirs and possibly kill their opponent. By doing this you pushing enemy team back to base and deny them a chunk of their own territory on which you could rotate freely after and apply pressure. Return to base for healing is bad play in higher mmr lobbies, you will heal eventually, from own banner creep, or healing items, if very low - yes, return to base for heal, but as you away with zipline boost on CD, you give breathing room for opponent - he may farm jungle and go to next lane for gank. For me, if I 200 hp or above I stay and at least try to deny creeps and secure mine while healing (won`t stay against heroes with high burst damage though).
i would like to add that you can hold the alt key and press the ability button to level it up instead of clicking it with your mouse. It can help if you are in a battle and either you or a teammate defeat a minion or player.
