I recently tried to Download an iso file for my Windows 11 23H2. It went to a certain point and quit stating that my Intel i7-13700 would have to update my drivers for it before I could move forward. I wonder if they will be addressing that as part of the update. I wasn't comfortable doing it myself after reading about possible problems with the update. I'm not that deep into that stuff. I'm thinking maybe they were trying to create the iso with 24H2 in this case.
24H2 is pretty good, PROVIDED you use the settings to shut off the intrusive monitoring and don't have it connected to a Microsoft account, it is also improved by shutting off background services and giving priority to user apps, much of this also applies to Windows 10. I have 24H2 running on 6 laptops/pcs (4 fully MS compliant and 2 that meet the basic technical specification even though the cpus aren't supported). However, having several decades of IT experience enables me to tune Windows with confidence and most Windows users would find it a lot more difficult.
Installed Windows 11 this morning. Only problem was with "Folders Lock" app. After the installation was complete, I began testing all programs. "Folders Lock" opened ok but the locked folders were no longer visible. Crap! Took a shot at updating "Folders Lock" to newest version, opened it and there they were. What I should have done is unlock everything before upgrading to Windows 11 and also confirm all backups.
I have a Dell laptop that has not been offered the update yet. If I remember correctly there is an issue with Dell laptops that caused Microsoft to block the update on them. When it shows up, I will install it.
What about 24H2 known issue? When using media to install Windows 11, version 24H2, the device might remain in a state where it cannot accept further Windows security updates. This occurs only when the media is created to include the October 2024, or November 2024, security updates as part of the installation (these updates were released between October 8, 2024 and November 12, 2024). Please note, this only occurs when utilizing media - such as CD and USB flash drives - to install Windows 11, version 24H2. This issue does not occur for devices where the October 2024 security update or the November 2024 security updates are installed via Windows Update or the Microsoft Update Catalog website. Workaround: To prevent issues, do not install Windows 11, version 24H2 which installs the October 2024 or November 2024 security updates. Instead, ensure that media used to install Windows 11, version 24H2, includes the December 2024 monthly security update (released December 10, 2024), or later. Next steps: We are working on a resolution and will provide more information when it is available.
Windows 11 has ruined my life. Ever since I upgraded to W11 and the problems never stopped. It started with updating my BIOS to be able to install W11, now my DELL pc does not boot properly, I need to power it on an off many time to boot. The other problem is that I cannot connect my network drive even after trying all available suggestions on the net or AI recommendations. . I HATE Windows 11.
I suspect that none of the development team at Microsoft have a home network. And would rather we spend huge sums on renting storage in the cloud via Microsoft sync? Just a thought.
One of the things I think is, with the amount of blockers that Microsoft put on the 24H2 update during the first few months of release, isn’t Microsoft technically misleading people with the 18 month support period, because people haven’t been able to update properly due to the blockers by Microsoft itself?
I bought a new Windows 11 laptop and the right click does not work on the desktop. This is very frustrating. So far the reg edit fix I found was bs and I can't even right click to get the task manager. Windows 10 was perfect for me but I hate 11 now. Ready tto return my laptop. Feel like I wasted money. 24H2 yes indeed works well on individual machines. But mapping shared network drives between those individual devices is another story!

I'm trying to put a clean install of Windows 11, and the only creation media is 24H2 with this know bug.
24H2 has serious issues with people using music software/audio drivers. Also opening windows is way slower,
My computer has been offered 24H2 twice. Each time it installs then rolls back the update. I just shrug
I think it is just spyware.
