- La Fundació Privada Montserrat Caballé i el Gran Teatre del Liceu han permès dur a terme el somni de la Montserrat, celebrar el Concurs Internacional de Cant a la seva estimada Barcelona. Un concurs que ha fet i farà de trampolí per a joves grans talents i que ha comptat, fins al dia d’avui, amb més de sis mil joves cantants dels cinc continents. Els guanyadors han debutat amb èxit de crítica i públic en els teatres d’òpera més prestigiosos del món, i actualment podem reconèixer els noms de molts d’ells, com Pretty Yende, Nadine Sierra, Levy Sekgapane o Pene Pati, entre altres. Aquest concurs serà itinerant i en els propers anys es podrà veure en altres teatres d’òpera del món.

The Spanish bias is big here. The winner should have been the soprano who sang 'Pace, Pace'. She was far above everyone else. No hate towards any of the singers, but the jury really messed up. I guess they just want to hear a high E flat and that's it. Disappointing from such a theatre, especially when the name of the great Caballé is being used for this.

What a wonderful broadcast to us, Liceu. I am thrilled to see Carlos Caballe (brother), Montserrat Caballe (daughter), Montserrat Caballe (niece) , James Aragull, and with La Superba, the memory of Montserrat bringing the competitions to us. Thank you from Missouri, USA. Was just a pleasure to my delighted sight to see all the singers at her concur.

Everyone might have been a singer to be a winner, but last night, Byeongmin was definitely the best.
Boring modern singing technique makes me sleepy ... solo atienden bien a las notas agudas, el resto de notas son menos importantes cuando no debe ser así, solo se centran en los agudos, luego la palabra en la mayoría de ellos inaudible, solo agudos, agudos y más agudos obviando todos los detalles que trae una partitura de opera (la palabra, dinámica, articulación, registro desde el pecho al agudo bien equilibrado, todo ello aporta un buen fraseo) Decir también la mala calidad de audio por parte del equipo técnico del evento. Creo que la señora Caballe se merece mucho más!! Buen pianista!!

Where are real full-voiced contralti and mezzo-soprani ? (And not the vulgar Ersatz who "sang" horrendeously and out of tune Ulrica or the pale Principessa)? ! What a shame. Poor legendary Maria Barrientos: she is awakening in her grave!
What an ignorant comment, it shows that you were not in the contest listening, was the most impressive voice of all those that sounded in there, it seemed incredible to me to hear such power in such a young mezzo.
@@paradisebird7196 Listen to her singing at Cardiff and NOW. If that voice is impressive, you don't know much about voices. Listen to her first entrance notes: can't be heard!!! Or possibly you are deaf, as you consider that I'm ignorant?! She sings like a school girl and couldn't be heard without amplification over a large orchestra! Poor technique! Simply learn to listen and just shut up!

It seems to me that you are muddying opinions with nonsense more than necessary, I hope that you base yourself on listening to live voices instead of recordings and that you stop discrediting qualified people because you harm more than you build and give a very poor image to the contest
And you never listen to her live, and I did, and she is the only one that can sing Wagner as such a young age, that’s why I call your comment ignorant, not only because you are talking about something that you don’t know at first hand but you don’t recognise large voices recorded and your criticism is not constructive at all.

I can’t believe you pretend to have better judgment over the Jury evaluation in this event , and alsor Dame Kiri Te Kanawa judgment, who distinguished Guadalupe Barrientos, including her as finalist in Cardiff Event, due her truly talent .
