We have an M2 106 (Laredo conversion). You are spot on about the mirrors and the fuel gauge idiosyncracies. Those are annoyances that we have had to get used to. Also, regarding the road noise, we did a full sound-dampening treatment. Took out seats, carpeting, door panels, head liner. etc, and had DynaMat applied throughout. From the factory there were only a few pieces on the doors and floorboards and they didn't do much to reduce noise. I measured the before and after of the in-cab noise with a handheld decible meter, and after doing the soundproofing, the noise was reduced by 9~10 decibles. Huge improvement. My wife and I can actully have a conversation in the truck while going down the road. Thanks for the video.
A little trick for the mirrors = put the inside of the mirror edge lined up with the trailer (wagon). Takes some getting use too. Retired trucker. Adjust the float or bend the wire.
I like that solution to the fuel door. I began the process of adding dock lights on my gooseneck trailer after I seen your video, I already added in the gang/junction box and the new 7 pin plug. Your video gave me the confidence to do it verse thinking about doing it. Thank you.
@@novavroomvroom3435 I know it's not the cool thing to do but i added a backup license plate camera for peace of mind and for just in case ready to install cameras on both side of the trailer that come on when I turn on parking lights or headlights with night vision and recording function. I am looking at it all as added safety/security for those oh crap moments.

I have watched a lot of videos on the m-2 trucks but you have the first review I have seen. Thank you. A very strange thing I have seen years ago were they use different noise to cancel out road noise. This makes it much more quieter in the vehicle. I would think that if you could get to the inside of the door panels and stick some of that sound deadening to it, that may help. Thanks again. Tractor-trailer trucks that have duel 100 galen tanks, have on them by the fill spout / do not fill more than 90%. This allows for expansion of the fuel when it's hot out.
Nice video! I agree with some of your complaints. My 2020 Sportchassis has an audible tone/click on the turn signals, and does have auto cancellation when the wheel is returned to center after a turn. Maybe this is an option on the newer trucks. For the key/lock issue on the cargo doors, see if a local locksmith can cut you a longer key. I had a similar problem with a gate lock once, and just getting a longer key (about 1/2" longer) worked great. Was only like $1.00 more for the key, but I had to go to a real locksmith that had those kind of keys in-stock for him to cut it for me. Love your videos. Keep on truckin'. 😉
i put HD cams on the mirrors rear and front also with hood mirrors with .. with the needle i didnt have that issue i had a auxiliary fuel tank .you can get a new flasher for truck that ticks .. and yes i hate that key issue .. but locksmith can get longer key ..the fuel door i installed a neodymium magnet to it also . love the videos
For the keys in the lock boxes. I had the same issue with some under the bed toolboxes. I went to local locksmith and told him the issue. He found me keys with larger head and longer shank and worked extremely well. So I ended up with keys that resembled modern ignition key for size.

Depending on the metal of the bolts on your fuel door, stainless steel reacts with aluminum. Might cause the aluminum to start to bubble around the bolts, it’s a type of corrosion from the inside out of the aluminum, you can grind it down and repaint, but it will usually come back unless you completely replace it. Then again, it might not happen at all. I had that experience with a dodge avenger, and the challengers when they first got reintroduced had steel hood pins, and those pins reacted with the aluminum hood, caused the bubbling corrosion effect around the pins.
Yea stainless doesnt like aluminum too much lol.. going to actually switch these out to zinc as it does not react with aluminum like stainless or galvanized.. which im not using stainless or galvanized right now either but either way a very informative comment hopefully others will read and learn something too
