      @ Lien, I've had three greyhounds, and Magnus offers solid advice. Two greyts are better than one.

      @@playme129 we are totally in love. He's from Spain, we already had a Spanish podenco (another hound breed) and they have so many similar quirks, it's lovely! I'm already thinking of getting a third dog, he is such a joy! Only problem is we're running out of spots on the bed 😂

    Super helpful, informative vid! Thankyou, my grey loves dental chews but I've been too scared to try brushing her teeth... everytime I go to the dentist we get admonished and I really don't want her to have dental issues in the future so this is great to watch it being done in action!

    Good tips as always.
    Sorry if a daft question, but
    With the ostrich bones. How do you store them after they've had a good chew and want to keep them fresh for later? Plus how do you know its time for the bin? 😆.
    Used thd bully sticks before. My dogs loved those! They chew right down though.
    Nice to see the kelpies at the end 😉 😜

      We put the bones in the freezer between sessions. We only let the pups have 2 sessions at the bones.

    I love your dedication to your beautiful hounds! 🥰 Thanks for these videos, they’ve been extremely helpful 😍 Would you recommend a raw food diet? Seeing you feed a generic dog food, I guess you feed both? They don’t seem to mind lol! I used to know a hound who’s poop was terribly runny & I guessed it was due to what she was fed. Any advise please?

    • @magnusgreyhound
      @magnusgreyhound  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching. Glad you like the videos. We feed the pups a raw diet. We have tried dry in the past. We have found the best results with the raw so we stick to that. Does cost more and take more effort to prepare than dry, but the pups are worth it.

    The ostrich bones I've seen at pets at home seem huge. Do all greys cope with them ok? Also, how often would the bones need replacing? Thank you.

    • @magnusgreyhound
      @magnusgreyhound  ปีที่แล้ว

      Our pet store has half size which is a bit more manageable. The bones tend to be good for 2 sessions before our two loose interest in them.

    Ive heard bones are dangerous to give your dog they can break shards off and puncture their organs.

    • @magnusgreyhound
      @magnusgreyhound  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cooked bones are the ones that can splinter. Ostrich bones are popular and a good choice as they do not splinter or break off in shards

    Hi please help.. our girl has kidney stones, we got her 3months ago, we put her on the kibble she was fostered on because anything else gave her an upset tummy.. we need to change her from kibble to normal diet like cooked meat and then maybe move to raw and the vet just wants to sell us their own kibble for dogs probe to uti's and kidney stones. I don't know what to do, how much to give her or where to start and she's not getting any better with the kibble. If you can please send some advice our way it would be much appreciated! Love to Magnus, Scout and their mum & dad ❤️

    • @magnusgreyhound
      @magnusgreyhound  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear about the kidney stones. Unfortunately I do not know anything about treating this condition. In regard to diet. We feed Magnus a raw diet of chicken thighs for breakfast and Natural instinct for dinner. We tried dry food for a while as it would save us some money. But Magnus had more bowel issues. Whenever our pups get any bowel trouble (usually if they eat something off the street that they shouldn't) we feed them cooked chicken and plain rice. We will feed them this until their stomachs settle. We will then go back to their regular diet. We also have a tube of prokolon in the house which we will add to their food if they have very loose stools. Hope this helps
