this show was very smartly directed, the design bewteen present, past and flashbacks everything was done in a way you perfectly understood but you were lost and knew you had to hang on for answers. The performances were brilliant, specially Dylan's. This is definitely not just another teenage tv show, this is a great show. The little queues to help the viewer understand and distinguish between times was so smoothly done. Dylan said on this interview something about not being the most famous person alive, I'm sure this guy will enter the A List when it comes to actors very soon, in a few years he's gonna get there. I'm talking Andrew Garfield, James Franco, Jim Sturgess kind of actor. He's SO talented and he's only 20. I hope Dylan and the whole cast in this genius show get even bigger roles now. They deserve it, and they are ready for it. That guy right there has given me hope for a next new generation of great actors. His work is amazing, just the right color this show needed to be fully brilliant. The performances, the creative direction, the script... for those who really care for this stuff, you'll agree when I say this is a masterpiece of a show.
Absolutely, this show backed up a strong narrative with some excellent filmmaking. Those extended, uncut shots and excellent transitions between past and present really adds to the experience.
Neel Parmar exactly. I think younger people will mostly just focus on the story and the boy and the girl but if you really pay attention, the show is pretty brilliant. I think either the director or one of the producers was the one who worked in Spotlight as well? So that kinda explains it. That was a genius movie with a story worth telling. I hope people won't take this show for granted and ruin it by turning it into another teenage drama show...
My 14 year old cousin showed me this and I thought it would be another one of her lame ass lovey-dovey shows but from the first few scenes I knew this one was different and special so I binge watched it over the next three days. I'm barely into my 20's myself but I can appreciate good film-making and this series deserves to be watched by more than just teens.
Neel Parmar you couldn't have said it better. I just turned 23 but I see mostly teenagers watching this show and feel like older people are missing out, while most teenagers watching it are staying with the superficial side of the show/story and talking about it as if it was another "gossip girl" or "pretty little liars" type of show (not my type of show at all) and just a very few audience actually pays attention to the real value of it all. First time in a long time that I've seen a cast of 98% very young actors playing roles of high school kids and doing their job THIS well.
natisinvisible I'm English & I understood perfectly too 😊 I'm sure he was a bit nervous to interview them since the show is so big let alone doing it in a second language! I definitely couldn't do that! 😂
finished watching it and I must say it was so sad, and depressing but I loved that it really described highschool and how mean this generation can be it's a must see and I recommend that everyone should watch it!!
I'm 43yrs old and just finished watching this tv show yesterday. Very good. One of the scenes really shocked me , and I'm a butch bloke, but I won't spoil it for everyone.
annabel li I've heard it too. But she's been speaking "American" for the better half of the day for almost eight months+the voiceovers so, some of it will slip in. It's good that it's happening and it is very healthy to master another dialect.
Can I just point out that everyone who speaks has an accent technically. Everyone seems to be commenting 'wow I didn't know she had an accent!' Hahah just had to put that out there!
Omg thank you!! english is my second language and people will never understand how bad I feel when they pay more attention to my "accent" instead of what Im saying is very uncomfortable really :/
So to be clear, someone who was raised in Australia and is PUTTING ON an American accent has an accent i.e. Their normal voice is an accent. So does that make an American accent normal and an English accent not normal?
im german, and i feel sorry for katherine and dylan because he has SUCH A STRONG GERMAN ACCENT it's impossible to understand + he keeps saying "cyberMOBBING" because mobbing in german is slang for cyber bullying. i'm cringing the whole way through like omg
She doesn't have an accent, she puts on an accent. Ignorance at its finest right? Only Americans have a "normal" accent. Why do American's think they're better than everyone else?
Clay had the bandaid on his forehead and the screen was really bright and orange looking during flashbacks while it was kinda dull and blue tinted in present time
Here's the thing, if someone is from England or Australia, or any other English language speaking country or region, and they don't typically speak in an American accent of any kind, and yet you don't know or cannot tell they are from this or that place originally watching them on screen, isn't that a sign of a good actor?
it's so weird not hearing Hannah's voice and hearing Katherine Langford's actual voice. whenever I look at her I expect her to talk in pauses like she did in the tapes or the sweet perfect Hannah like in the flashbacks
jon opaw It's good to be aware. To learn what's right/wrong/ok. That even if there is no "no", it does *not* necessarily mean the answer is "yes". It's really hard to watch, at any age, hope you're ok, bud.
jon opaw oh my gosh, stay kids a bit longer please, I hope the death scene didn't hit you too hard, I know what it's like watching things like that too young x
I think she is gay look up her youtube channel (same name as her real name) she made a song about it and she has this flag 🏳️🌈 on her instagram but i am not 100% sure
I'm german and I am ashamed ... I Know that some germans are not that good in speaking english but his English ist terrible ... " congratulations on sat sho" omg pleaaaase no 😐
Credit to the interviewer for not interrupting, it was very smooth 💕
I think i'm in love with Katherine.
J Visuals same

Strainless holy fuck I'm a girl and I like her.
YES I KNEW SHE HAD AN ACCENT WHEN SHE DID THAT ACCENT IN EPISODE 5 IT WAS TOO GOOD TO BE FAKE
Awesomeness101 when in episode 5 wym
she did that one part talking to Clay during the dance scene and she made fun of an Australian accent and said some line
+Bruna Tavares "There are no new steps."
I Facepalm You
Are*
hahaha my bad

maya. I fully agree.
Okay im German and i feel so ashamed for the interviewers accent plus he literally said "mobbing" instead of bullying like how would they know
I'm American and I understood everything the interviewer said. Give the dude a break.
natisinvisible I'm English & I understood perfectly too 😊 I'm sure he was a bit nervous to interview them since the show is so big let alone doing it in a second language! I definitely couldn't do that! 😂
Don't worry , Germans are cool as hell
Omg same 😂😭
he literally wrote his whole description of the video about this...read the freakin thing
finished watching it and I must say it was so sad, and depressing but I loved that it really described highschool and how mean this generation can be it's a must see and I recommend that everyone should watch it!!
anyone else just want to give the actress that played Hannah a big hug. just me? ok
Peaches Ø heck ya!:)
I'm 43yrs old and just finished watching this tv show yesterday. Very good. One of the scenes really shocked me , and I'm a butch bloke, but I won't spoil it for everyone.
even though she has an australian accent, she pronounces some words like an american i think at 3:00
Yeah, she probably slips in and out from playing the role and probably having an accent coach or something
She had to do accent reduction for the role, much like how Hugh Laurie in House had.
annabel li I've heard it too. But she's been speaking "American" for the better half of the day for almost eight months+the voiceovers so, some of it will slip in. It's good that it's happening and it is very healthy to master another dialect.
Ranel Gallardo yes but he wasn't 19.
Can I just point out that everyone who speaks has an accent technically. Everyone seems to be commenting 'wow I didn't know she had an accent!' Hahah just had to put that out there!
Shannon EXACTLY. I hate when Americans (or whoever else) make such a fuss about accents.
They tend to think their accent is the original or something.
Kirk Donnelly exactly! It is such an ignorant view of the world
hey now guys, i think the majority of americans connect "having an accent" to that they speak lovely... it's not supposed to be a bad thing haha
Omg thank you!! english is my second language and people will never understand how bad I feel when they pay more attention to my "accent" instead of what Im saying is very uncomfortable really :/
great interview :)
I FEEL LIKE IM THE ONLY ONE WHO DIDNT NOTICE SHE HAD AN ACCENT HER VOICE SOUNDS SO DIFFERENT IN THE SHOW
Alanna Cassen I DIDNT
So to be clear, someone who was raised in Australia and is PUTTING ON an American accent has an accent i.e. Their normal voice is an accent. So does that make an American accent normal and an English accent not normal?
Alanna Cassen Well you weren't suppose to notice. She was playing an American in the show so that just means she did a good job at hiding her accent.
I'm surprised by her accent
Her laugh is so adorable 😍
''it's about cybermobbing'' uhm cybermobbing is German, did u mean cyber bullying
m8z obviously!!!
Love these actors, so talented
I love Katherine's laugh it's so cute!!!!!!!!!❤️❤️🌷
Omg I didn't know she had an accent 😍😍 Its so pretty!
im german, and i feel sorry for katherine and dylan because he has SUCH A STRONG GERMAN ACCENT it's impossible to understand + he keeps saying "cyberMOBBING" because mobbing in german is slang for cyber bullying. i'm cringing the whole way through like omg
Am I the only one wondering how she has long hair all of a sudden? lol. She is very beautiful.
Isaiah Boi the show was shot more than a year ago
Isaiah Boi im pretty sure the short hair was a wig.
WE UNDERSTAND YOU DIDN'T KNOW SHE HAD AN ACCENT PEOPLE STOP WRITING IT
She doesn't have an accent, she puts on an accent. Ignorance at its finest right? Only Americans have a "normal" accent. Why do American's think they're better than everyone else?
Neel Parmar I’m sorry this is so late but everyone has an “accent” my dude.
Katherine is so stunning.. How is she so perfect?
Clay had the bandaid on his forehead and the screen was really bright and orange looking during flashbacks while it was kinda dull and blue tinted in present time

Here's the thing, if someone is from England or Australia, or any other English language speaking country or region, and they don't typically speak in an American accent of any kind, and yet you don't know or cannot tell they are from this or that place originally watching them on screen, isn't that a sign of a good actor?
I can't wait to see the interview with Britt Robertson ( I'm Britt France, you remember haha ? ) !
